weather adlib: we are looking at another fairly cloudy and cold day across the state, but luckily it won't be quite as bad as yesterday. i'm expecting partly sunny skies through the afternoon, so while we'll be cloudy at times we should also be able to grab some sun. temperatures today are going to be able to climb into the low to mid 30s with the help of a strong southerly wind. overnight tonight our temperatures should stay very mild with lows hovering in the mid to upper 20s with a decent breeze. wednesday will start dry but we'll increase cloud cover through the day and see an afternoon rain and wintry mix scattered across the state. thursday is looking warm enough that most of our

fall mainly as rain with highs in the upper 30s. friday looks fairly warm, but i think we'll see more of a mix between rain showers and a wintry mix. saturday is looking cold but i also think we'll see accumulating snowfall in the morning. temperatures are going to tank through saturday but especially lasting into sunday and monday as highs stay in the teens and lows fall to near the negatives. there won't be much warmth that comes during the remainder of next week so just plan on being chilly for awhile after sunday! elias: let's get into the top five this morning.... elias: president obama is expected to announce executive action today that will take action on the sale of guns in the u.s. the actions will expand background checks for many types of private sales, provide more funding for mental health treatment, and funding for "smart" gun technology. it will also encourage states to report those who should be kept from buying guns. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: armed protestors remain in control of a federal building in orgon... the standoff between the group calling itself "citizens for constitutional freedom" and federal authorities enters its fourth day. officials say the arson case that sparked this protest is over and it's time for the demonstrators to go home. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: the iowa secretary of
