" local 5 news at 10 in hd starts now. we are iowa" stephanie/2shot good evening. welcome to local 5 news, home of we are iowa dot com. i'm stephanie angleson. jack/2shot and i'm jack miller. jack: all three democrats running for president just finished up speaking at the iowa black and brown forum on drake university's campus tonight. each candidate face questions mostly dealing with racism and economic issues for monorities. it's the second to last time all three candidates will be at the same gathering before the iowa caucus. jack: local 5's sabrina ahmed is live at drake university to tell us more about the night. sabrina? sabrina the brown and black forum just wrapped up about an hour ago... an event targeting the african american and latino voter base. i'm in the media room where about 100 journalists watched together. the forum was two hours, each candidate got equal time.. 30 minutes. a wide array of topics covered. from immigration and black lives matter to

stephanie: a big night in washington tomorrow - especially for president obama. stephanie: the president is making final preparations for his last state of the union address tomorrow night. jack: writing the speech ahead of a president's last year in office is often very different from those before, and includes different goals and challenges. karin caifa reports from washington. " since i took office seven years ago, in the midst of crisis, i don't think i've ever been as optimistic about a year ahead as i am right now. just 12 days into the new year, president obama will deliver his state of the union
