has more from ames. "well believe it or not, the sky isn't falling here in ames. ya the cyclones are 1-2 in conference play and this isn't the start anyone envisioned, but they hope to change that starting tuesday" "this isn't the end of the world, i mean we're three weeks into conference play. you're not even thinking about the conference championship race until the last two weeks of the season." "pump the brakes a little bit. you know i know we had a lot of high expectations for this year and those can still be high. we're working, we're working at this, i heard someone say earlier 'rome wasn't build in one day.' we've had a lot of adversity hit us this year and i don't think we're crumbling at all. we're still positive and still believe in ourselves so i think they should too." "it ain't like we racking up our shoes and waiting for another year. so it's never too bad when you can play another day and get better. so i just feel like fans, they going to be fans,

"but don't be mistaken, this team still knows what its goals are, they're just focused on the big picture..." "the expectation is to win a conference championship, be in houston, get to the final four, i get all that. i embrace all that. the thing is, we can't get caught up in all that. the best thing about my guys right now is they've been all committed, all saying the right things, all about the right things and as long as they're doing that, then we're heading in the right direction. we know we're talented, we know we have a good team and i'm in this for the long haul, and so we're trying to be as best we can in february, march and put ourselves in position to make a great postseason run." "coach prohm and the cyclones now head to austin texas where they'll face fellow first year head coach shaka smart and the longhorns tuesday at 8pm. in ames, i'm jordan furbee, local 5 sports we are iowa." elias:
