he laid out what he hopes to be a busy final year in encouraging members of congress to overcome work together. elias: in the number two spot this morning... elias: governor terry branstad, the longest serving governor in u-s history, gave his 22nd condition of the state in it, the governor reinforced the need to make funding a top lawmakers bipartisan support for a number of issues he mentioned, even providing a standing ovation when he talked about improving iowa's criminal justice system. sabrina: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... sabrina: u-s officials confirm...ten american sailors have been released after iranian forces arrested them on tuesday. their two small naval boats were detained after they ended up in iranian waters while on their way to bahrain. u-s officials say there is nothing hostile about the situation and worked quickly to resolve the

elias: number four... a push to solve an ames case from december. elias: authorities still have no answers in last month's hit and run death of emmalee jacobs.. the i-s-u freshman was found lying at the in the street at lincoln way and ash avenue. with students back on campus, they hope to generate new leads in the case. anyone with information is asked to contact ames police. sabrina: and finally in the top five... sabrina: the latest numbers put tonight's powerball jackpot at one and a half billion dollars... that's a cash payout of 930- million dollars. since the current jackpot began its run in november, the lottery has sold almost 25-million dollars in tickets....that's almost half a normal year's worth. elias: with just two and a half weeks to the iowa caucus...there's and a half weeks to the iowa caucus...there's a new frontrunner for the democrats.. elias: the latest poll numbers show

congress. and again mentioned his weak stance during an organizing event in ames tuesday. i find it kind of interesting whenever i say you know you voted against the brady bill five times you voted for what the nra said was the biggest nra priority giving them immunity and he says, we'll i'm from vermont. pat leahy the other senator from vermont voted against immunity for the gun lobby so no, that's not an explanation. sabrina: clinton has also criticized sanders' healthcare plan and wants to know how he plans to pay for it. look for lots more back and forth when the democratic presidential candidates take the debate stage sunday in south carolina. elias: we're back with meterologist sam schreier... sam: (sam adlibs)
