with those cold temps tomorrow..it might force churches to cancel service tomorrow.. make sure to check back on the bottom ticker and at we are iowa dot com.. nikki: president obama's executive orders about gun sales are a divisive issue across the nation, and of course... among the presidential candidates. this weekend, a gun show at adventureland is expected to bring in about about two thousand people. vendors at the show say current gun laws are strong enough.... but aren't being enforced the way they should be. according to the n-r-a.... more than 80-thousand people lied on the forms, but only 44 people were actually prosecuted for breaking the law. people attending todays show said they confident in the process to buy a gun there. roger mcginley, des moines resident: "they want to buy a gun

the 4473, i have a feeling they might up ending having a conversation with the sheriff or the city policeman that's going to meet them at the door." coming up tonight at ten, more on what else the gun show has to offer and why the vast majority of the guests will leave it empty handed. nikki/ots: today.. the fourth annual midwest march for life took place at the capital building.. governor terry branstad joined thousands of people to fight for their rights.. this started out as the march for life in washington dc to commemorate the roe v. wade decision... and now it's come to iowa.. citizens marched and chanted to speak their opinions against legalized abortion. nikki: an officer involved shooting investigation is underway after a deputy shot a man in muscatine last night... it happened just after 10 pm ... when a muscatine police officer and a sheriffs deputy stopped a vehicle suspected of being stolen in the parking lot of the best western on cleveland

man in the vehicle attempted to drive off and hit several vehicles in the parking lot while doing so... including one of the fully marked law enforcement vehicles... the deputy on scene fired his gun and shot the driver... who was then taken to the hospital. the name of the deputy or the man shot hasn't been released at this time. an investigation into the incident is being conducted by the muscatine police department, the iowa divison of criminal investigation, and iowa state patrol. nikki: a sex offender escapes from the fort des moines work release facility. now police are asking for your help finding him 26-year-old ross clouse was serving time for a third degree sexual abuse charge back in 2009. police say he failed to return to the facilitiy last night. he's described as a white man, with black hair and brown eyes. about six foot- three and 254 pounds. if you have any information on clouse's wherabouts, please contact des moines police or the polk county sheriff's department. nikki: thieves led police on a chase down i-235 this afternoon. the polk county sheriff's office

chasing allegedly stole items from the mills fleet farm in ankeny. they were stopped and arrested around the martin luther king bridge on i-235. nikki: iran has freed four americans in a prisoner swap deal with the united states. the u-s government said it is the result of more than a year of top secret negotiations. a washington post journalist is among those freed... along with marine veteran and christian pastor. a senior administration official said today the u-s -- in return -- is dropping charges against seven iranians convicted of sanctions violations. a fifth american is also being released by iran, but according to us officials is not part of the negotiated prison swap.... nikki: rescuers have spotted a debris field as they search for 12 u-s marines missing off hawaii. they were in two helicopters that collided in mid- air and crashed. as catherine cruz reports, rescuers are going all out to find the missing service members. the images of military might rolled in all day long at alii beach park. from the air, sea and from shoreline, all

pounding surf. but mother nature has not relented making the search for survivors and crash debris difficult. the large waves are drawing visitors and residents to the north shore for a glimpse but the search and rescue operation is prompting an appeal to the public. (lt. kevin cooper, u.s. coast guard): "our main safety message about the debris is that if someone sees something we want them to report it. we do want them to call, but we don't want them to touch it. we just want them to allow the professionals to collect the debris once it's been assessed," (catherine cruz, reporting): "with this weather there's no telling where any marine debris may turn up. it could end up on a neigbor island. but this morning a team of tow-in-surfers reported seeing what looked like a propeller off alligator rock." (lt. kevin cooper, u.s. coast guard): "we had a report, we sent an aircraft to that area but we did not see that piece that was reported" city and state officials are asking the public for help in steering clear of this area so rescue crews can do their job (shayne enright, city emergency services): "there's large surf acoss the whole shoreline so we are just asking the public

for a few days. we don't want anyone to get into trouble if they don't need to," ocean services has provided two jet skis to help assist in looking for survivors between the sets. but there is some concern that rescues of surfers or beachgoers could strain resources. honolulu's fire department is pulling back after assisting in the search overnight and today and says it will be tapped as needed. (batallion chief john bowers, honolulu fire department): "at this time because we are now focusing out on the open ocean, the fire department itself, we have reallocated those resources back," portions of the haleiwa harbor and alii beach park are off limits to the public as the field will be used as a recovery area during the search effort. nikki: the debris includes an empty life raft and possibly pieces of aircraft. the u-s marines are still looking into what caused the collision. nikki: the cold temperatures means perfect weather for some sledding.. today at sleepy hollow.. several people

"3 2 1 go!! this is the 6th annual morning moose downhill derby out here at sleepy hollow we encourage listeners to make sleds out of nothing but cardboard paint and duck tape some of the creativity is insane not only is the creativity there but the sleds keep getting bigger and bigger each year everything from garbage trucks to bigger each year everything from garbage trucks to submairnes to this year a massive battleship with actual airplanes made out of cardboard paint and ducktape on top of the battleship t ty just get so big go r2 go you look so good then the intersting thing is to see these big sleds try to make it down the hill some do really well some not so much we came up with this skywalker speed racer we thought we had a pretty good one 3 2 1 go two years ago we actually won the
