sabrina: on to our top story...a monday business fire in fort dodge remains smoldering late into the night. sabrina: fire crews responded to a multi-use building near downtown yesterday afternoon... the building, on the corner of central and south 15th street, houses c and s products, a storage facility, and a batting cage for fort dodge kids. the fire has left the building a total loss...and one firefighter was treated for minor injuries. more than two- dozen firefighters were called in to put out the off-duty personnel and members of webster city's fire department. with the cold weather making it harder than usual to put out the flames. "be pretty cognizant of the conditions that our troops are in, making sure that we keep them warm and keep their blood flowing, keep them fed, we've got some food coming for them so we'll be able to bring them in and out and increase the frequency with which they go to the rehabilitation. " sabrina: fire crews spent more than three hours battling flames, until the fire was under control.

on scene into the night to make sure it had been completely extinguished. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. sabrina: in the small community of boxholm, neighbors are dealing with the tragic loss of a mom and her three kids in sunday's house fire. sabrina: the tragic story is now spreading to other communities in central iowa who are stepping forward to help. : amber sorenson and her three young children riley, autumn and brayden were killed after being trapped inside their home. the dad, john sorenson, was at work at the time of the fire... and is the only family member who survived. this tragedy is leaving even strangers heartbroken... and wanting to help... so far more than 36 thousand dollars has been raised to help pay expenses... even some small businesses are pledging to give percentages of their profits on some items to help the family. "i look at every situation, every fundraiser and think to myself that could be me and i would want someone to help me in that situation.
