elias: good to have everyone with us! and it's great to have central iowa's most accurate forecast with meterologist sam schreier! hey sam! sam: (sam adlibs) sam (sam adlibs) sam: weather adlib: yesterday was the warmest day we've seen in more than a week with a balmy high of 28 degrees. today we are going to be a bit cooler than that from a weak cold front that passed through the state overnight. very light snow will push through northern iowa during the morning hours giving a few places a quick dusting to a few flurries, but accumulations should be extremely low. highs today will be in the mid 20s under overcast skies and a northerly breeze keeping us feeling cold. tonight we are going to be cold and calm with a low in the low teens. saturday we are looking at partly to mostly cloudy skies with a high in the upper 20s. sunday still looks very nice with highs in the mid to upper 30s with overcast skies. i'm expecting light snow on monday morning, blowing snow is very likely so drive safe that day. temperatures will slump into the upper 20s by next that we look to grab a may finally creep back into the state. elias:

local five is keeping an eye on the statehouse....as iowa lawmakers try to get education funding out of the way. elias: much like last year, there is a big difference on how much... the republican- lead house is proposing a 2 percent funding increase for next year. democrats say that increase shows that republicans have not heard concerns of iowa school districts. the maintenance magic. the greater iowa apartment association is partnering with hg supply and several other sponsors to bring our industry maintence technitions here tonight to compete in a competion that gives them an opportunity to show off their skills what it actually revolves around is the typical actvities they do on an everyday basis in their jobs so doing everything from fixing ice makers to replacing water heaters replacing smoke dectors so we're just using this to showcase the maintince people in the area and actually just giving them their night and their time to stand in the spotlight networking is a big thing for us we never really get to get out in the field and see any of our other comapnies or competitors so just seeing what they can do and how fast they do things and how they do things is a big plus it's exciting to see these guys in here in action doing it this quick because we can take it back to the properties and remind them how fast they are at taking care of the resident issues

emmalee jacobs. elias: the i-s-u freshman was hit by a cy-ride bus while on her way to a final exam in december.... according to the criminal complaint...the man arrested by police this week, may have been aware he hit her that morning. 23 year old benjamin clague was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to obey a traffic device. the report shows he texted a friend, saying he felt he was involved. and in a face-to- face confession with a friend, he said he felt he was the one who hit and killed jacobs. however, clague failed to ever come forward. " we continued to ask for pleas from the public for information. he knew he was in the area, he knew he hit something tha tmorning, didnt come forward to our detectives. very frustrating for us and the famiyl" elias: clague has bonded out of jail. the friend he
