weather adlib: elias: let's get into the top five this morning.... elias: a slippery mess across iowa tuesday, as mother nature left snow for everyone to deal with as they began they commute to work. the snow and ice sent cars into ditches, and created a busy day for road crews, law enforcement and tow trucks. sabrina:

two spot this morning... sabrina: two southern states dealt with weather concerns of a different type...at least nine reports of tornadoes touching down across alabama and mississippi. homes and businesses have suffered major damage, but only minor injuries have been reported. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: with a new regional administrator in charge, the e-p-a is in force in flint, michigan and working to remedy the city's contaminated water crisis. the new leader says that the best minds have problem important thing is we're going to let elias: regional resigned in issues. number four... the presidential campaign now heads to new hampshire...and the first stop for hillary clinton and bernie sanders will be tonight's democratic town hall. this is the first big event they both will be a part of since the iowa caucus....thursd ay night they

for a debate. with such a close result from monday's caucus....sander s has not conceded iowa and there is specualtion he may challenge the results. elias: and finally in the top five... elias: number 13 iowa state welcomes number 14 west virginia last night...i-s-u looking for a win that could put them in a four- way tie for second in the big 12. the mountaineers not willing to go without a fight, and held on to claim the win...giving the cyclones an 81 to 76 loss. sabrina: polk county residents should be aware of a phone scam making the rounds... sabrina: the polk county sheriff;s office has shared some details to give citizens an idea of what to be watching out for... first, the call comes from a recorded service with an 8-0-4 area code . it's been telling iowans they have a federal law suit filed against them and that they'll be arrested if they don't call back. polk county

so hang up and don't call the number back. anyone who receives such a call should also report the information to their local law enforcement. elias: those trying to travel by air from des moines dealt with a major obstacle left by mother nature... des moines international airport temporarily shut down their runways tuesday. many connecting flights to and from denver and chicago were delayed or cancelled altogether because of teh same storm. the airport said they prepared for caucus time for six months. and mother nature had different plans. we're from the quad cities," says countryman. kent countryman is from davenport, iowa and he says after seeing weather warnings about a blizzard hitting the siouxland area. kent decided he would be travelling across the state to help a local landscaping company clean up the white stuff in sioux city "...went ahead and called sharp landscaping here...and i asked him with the size of a storm that was coming in could they use any help and he said, 'definitely. come this way,' so we uh loaded up some of our gear and we headed out here," says countryman. kent is in the landscaping business himself and because his neck of the woods hasn't received much snow action, he says the blizzard was his chance to earn some extra cash. "because of the lack of snow we've had this year, in our area...we were kind of...we gotta get some income coming here," says countryman. the snow fall was so heavy, it made clearing roadways and parking lots difficult. kent says he'd been in north sioux for some time and it felt as it his work was not putting any dents into the snow. "it's a blizzard. i've been through...i've been in the snow business myself for 35 years so i've been through a few blizzards before and it's one of things that you just have to continually, continually, contiually go at," said countryman. sabrina

after eating at chipotle to win back customers, chipotle is planning deep discounts for the upcoming super bowl weekend. invesitagtors never found the cause of the outbreak sabrina: layoffs are coming to yahoo - a move that could help its c-e-o keep control of the company. the company announced tuesday that it will cut 15- percent of its workforce-- or about 11- thousand employees. c-e-o marissa mayer has been trying to fend- off a group of angry shareholders. they say in the past three-and- a-half years... mayer hasn't made progress in the attempt to turn around yahoo's financial performance. sabrina: united airlines is going back to an old policy: families with small kids get to board the airplane first. starting february 15th, parents with kids age two or younger will be allowed to pre- board united airlines flights -- right after passengers with disabilities and active duty military personnel who are in uniform. united dropped that policy in 2012. a company spokesman going back to the old policy is "simply
