joining us for local 5 news sabrina ahmed. sabrina: sabrina: a house fire in nevada left one man dead. early this morning, story county authorities were called to a home in the 800 block of north avenue, where they found the home fully engulfed and the male resident deceased. he has been identified as 36 willian blazek. was not home at fire. the cause of the fire is still unknown. suspicious only markings and the on the scene still processing it. we'll make a determination later once we get everything together."" sabrina: officials are still waiting on autopsy results. we will be sure to keep you updated on this story throughout the day. sabrina: onto our top story this morning...three people face charges after gunfire in waukee wednesday. sabrina: the incident even forced the lockdown of three nearby schools for a short time yesterday...

involved are 19- year-old jejuan (jay-jonn) lyke (like) junior, 18 year old william walls, and an unnamed 17 year old. they've all been charged with attempted murder, robbery, intimidation with a weapon, and going armed with intent. waukee police got the call just after eight a- m...with a report of shots fired at the 11-hundred block of southeast olson drive. no one was hit, victim was taken to the hospital for none life- threatening injuries. the case resulted in the arrest and conviction of eddie tipton...a former security director for the multi state lottery association. a jury found tipton guilty of rigging the hot lotto jackpot in his favor. now, a lawsuit has been filed over those actions... a des moines lawfirm says when the association allowed tipton to rig the jackpot - they took away from a webster city man's jackpot. they're also questioning the security and surviellance practices of both lotto locations. about the arl - about arl the animal rescue league of iowa (arl) is iowa's largest nonprofit animal shelter, caring for many thousands of pets each year. the arl serves people and pets from across the state of iowa through its programs, which include pet adoption, humane education, pet behavior training, spay/neuter, animal cruelty intervention and much more. history the arl has grown dramatically since its founding in 1926 - expanding its programs that serve both people and homeless animals across iowa. the most obvious growth is the number of animals the arl provides shelter and care for each year. intakes have increased from a few thousand animals a decade ago to more than 15,000 animals in 2013. through our proactive community outreach and spay/neuter programs, in the past few years
