i'm jack miller. stephanie/2shot and i'm stephanie angleson. stephanie: after a murder last year, there were some big concerns about safety on court avenue. but new tonight, those concerns are being met with big changes. a special committee committee is revealing plans to upgrade security local five's jacob peklo breaks down the differences you'll likely see. jacob peklo, reporting: "a late november homicide here in the des moines entertainment district raised a lot of concerns about the safety around court avenue. the changes are all being done to create a greater level of transparency for the city." dana wingert, des moines police chief: "there's nothing more frustrating than having an issue that you know that you can't solve by yourself." des moines police will soon have a greater presence inside the entertainment district. six officers will be downtown every weekend, as well as for other major holidays throughout the year. chris coleman, city council: "nobody is going to be thinking that we're going to be hunting people down and who doesn't have an id and did somebody litter, this is about helping people enjoy our city." in addition to extra patrols, local businesses will install better lighting---and not just on the main streets. moines police chief: and a county to be on the radar for national events. in less than two months, we're going to have the ncaas here." will cost about $220-

old eric fuller. also injured in the crash, eric's mother and his 10 year old sister. the driver of the r-v is from oklahoma and told officers he didnt see the stop sign in time. he's been charged with failure to obey a stop sign. but now warren county attorneys are adding two more charges. failure to maintain control and driving on the wrong side of the road. the fuller family who has been recovering for the last six months, say they just want accountability ""he changed our lives forever. and i want him to remember for the rest of his what he did to everyone else.he said he seen the stop sign but ddint think it was for him" " jack: if hutton is found guilty on the charges, he may face a one thousand dollar fine or a 180 day license
