at news from around iowa... elias: starting in sioux city, where police have taken a man into custody for shooting a veteran police officer of 13- years ... eighteen-year- old isaiah mothershed is in custody this morning... officers were called to an apartmen complex sunday on to investigate some reported robberies... the suspect has had other run- ins with the law as he was arrested for kidnapping and assaulting two men back in july of 2015. "probably like around 1:30 a.m. going on 2, i saw two ambulances pull up and then i looked out the window again and it was a bunch of police cars and of course a round 3 something they starting putting up yellow tape...i just thought somebody was sick, so i didn't know anything serious might of happened" nikki: mothershed also shot and wounded himself and is now at mercy medical center. his condition is unknown. this case is still being investigated. the officer who was injured has since been treated and released from the hospital. sabrina: in iowa city, authorities are on the look out for an armed

elias: after months of hearings, public comments, and review...the board will discuss what it has learned about the bakken oil pipeline. the pipeline would carry crude oil from northwest north dakota and end in illinois. so far, 87 percent of the groups that need to sign off on the pipeline groups that need to sign off on the pipeline have done so. the utility board will make the final decision that determines whether the project moves forward. many local companies are already working under the assumption that the pipeline will be approved. pipe is being stored near newton and some labor unions have already begun training for the project. today, the ulitilty board will meet and discuss their findings from the months of hearings and other testimony about the pipleine. that starts at 1 p.m. pipeline officials say a decision could be announced at these meetings, but it could also come much later. sabrina: a deadly fire is under investigation in council bluffs... sabrina: firefighters responded to the house fire

evening... neighbors say that two men lived in the home but hadn't seen anyone leave the house for days. but hadn't seen anyone leave the house for days. fire officials said they got the fire under control and mostly contained to one room but when they swept the house, they found the body. the victim has not been identitified and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. sabrina: in jasper county, a home goes up in flames over the weekend... the jasper county sheriff's office responded to a fire call at 1-07 north walnut street in mingo early saturday morning.. the cause of the fire may have been a wood burning stove according to the mingo fire chief. no one was injured... the fire is still under investigation. sabrina: and a teen leads police on a high speed chase...which ends up causing a four vehicle crash... the pella police department and the marion county sheriff's office said they got several calls of a erratic driver on highway 163 near pella... officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled the area... then slammed

which hit another in a chain reaction. the juvenile driver has been sited with multiple traffic violations... no major injuries were reported from the incident. elias: the iowa dot is looking to improve an intersection in central iowa. next tuesday, the dot will hold a public meeting to discuss changes to the interstate 35-highway 30 interchange in story county. the dot says that this intersection has one of the highest crash rates of any clover leaf intersection in the state. the meeting is between five and 6:30 pm at the crossroad baptist church in ames and is open to the public. sabrina: international headlines this crews continue saturday's earthquake in signs of life. so far more than two-dozen have been pronounced dead following the quake.. most of the victims have been pulled from a 16-story apartment building that collapsed....just one of eleven buildings that were wrecked by the natural disaster.
