rescue crews are on the scene. there are reports of multiple injuries. the ice-covered interstate remains closed. many cars unable to get traction. over 2,000 wrecks in 24 hours across 1states. virginia alone seeing more than 500. it wasn't just miserable road conditions. tornadoes touching down in the south. on the florida/alabama border, a tornado damaging homes and dropping trees on cars. in louisiana, a reported tornado ripping the roof off this carwash and tossing it into this pizza hut. cell phone video capturing the panicked patrons moments after. >> you're all right, mom. you're all rht. >> reporter: miraculously there were only minor injuries. this morning, in mississippi, they're cleaning up after a tornado may have touched down there. three homes attened and completely destroyed. here at the charlotte airport, it's a wet, slick mess. already 25 flights canceled. nearly 400 across the country and growing.

i've been very successful. i've dealt with people tougher than him. i hahave neverealt with anybody that lied like him. even rubio, marco rubio, which is hard for a politician to do. he called him a liar. i said, wow, that's amazing, i have never heard that from a politician. ted cruz is a liar. he outright lies. my whole thing is obamacare, we're going to repeal it and replace it. he says, i love obamacare. i'm going to keep it. on the second amendment, there's nobody stronger on the second amendment than i am. he said, donald trump wants to get rid of the second endment. he'll say whatever he wants to say. i actually think he's a very unstable person. i really believe that. i think he's a very unstable person. i have never had somebody take something you believe in and say the exact opposite. by the way, on sunday, or saturday evening, right after the vote, he'll apologize.

how many people will try to get in the zone through meditation in the hopes of losing unwanted weight. mindfulness and meditation is something she's been talking about for years. way before it was en vogue. this may be the first time she's connecting the dots to weight loss. >> thank y you. let's talk more about this with dr. jen ashton. now, meditation is not the answer. it can complement a weight loss program. >> exactly. this is an area of intense focus and r research now. because, you know, you have been meditating for years. i just learned in the last two years. people have been doing it for 10, 20, 30 years. we're trying to get thisis all hands on deck approach to overweight and obesity and look at anything we can do to help people lose weight and manage weight. so, when we looked at the data, i just gave you one of the studies, first very limited data. the studies are not well constructed. it does show mindfulness has an effect on emotional eating. like binge-eating.

>> if you do it ale, will it help effect a a significant amount of weight loss? the data says, probably not. if you do it with otother behavioral modifications, like an all-out approach, absolutely. >> you would tell your patients to try it? >> why not? >> any downsides at all? >> well, look, you to take a holistic approach w when youe looking at weight loss. you u have to y what i do want to do? assessour diet. assess your behavior. get a support system in place. we've heard it again and again. because it is really important. i also recommend people look for obesogenic medications. they're medications -- antidepressants. anti-histamines. that are making people gain weight. if you can remove them, that's a big plus. then, no question. treat obesity as a disease. if necessary, medication and surgery to help lose weigh downside, some meditation is

i'm definitely not always patient. but, it does help. it helps in a lot of ways. meditation is an incredible tool. now there's too much rearch around it to not have it be a part of most people's -- especially our kids' lives. i think, i think the sanity of trying to stay as grounded as possible, sort of what it does to your body and your brain is it starts to just alleviate the stress hormones. that's a huge part of so much issue whether it be illness, whether it be holding on to weight. and i think that's where meditation is really helpful in terms of scientifically. so -- >> i love something that you wrote. you said, when you'rkind to yourself, it's how you treat other people. how you treat yourself is how you treat other peop. >> i think so. i kind of -- it's a domino effect. isn't it? i think women are hard on themselves, too. and, i would like to see that
