good morning and thanks for joining us for local 5 news midday...i'm amanda krenz. amanda: new at midday amanda: there was a house fire in des moines this morning. it happened in a single family home near the intersection of hubbell and douglas avenue. there was no one was inside house when crews arrived on scene, but smoke was pouring out of basement and has caused extensive damage in the home. officials say todays high winds did not contribute to the fire. amanda/ots: a change is coming to the dowdupont headquarters in johnston just this morning, the recently merged company released a statement saying the corporate headquarters will be moving to delaware, while two global business centers will remain in johnston and indianapolis. while exact changes in staffing numbers have yet to be announced, the move will certainly have an impact on johnston's economy. be sure to stick with local 5 to keep you up to date on this story as it develops. amanda:

iowan has tested positive for the zika virus. the iowa department of public health announced a woman between 60-80 years old has contracted zika. she tested positive after returning from central america. the department sent out a statement saying, "the general public is not at risk of contracting the virus, because the mosquitos that transmit zika are not established in iowa. " however, the health department is warning iowans, especially pregnant women, who are traveling to these areas to protect themselves. the positive test has been sent to the c-d-c for more analysis. amanda: onto our top collins-maxwell is now looking for a new superintendent. amanda: last night, their superintendent, jason ellingson, resigned after ten years at the district. school officials had placed ellingson on administrative leave earlier this week after a report was filed the district is currently investigating the allegations... after nearly two hours of closed session, resignation was

board. he immediately goes off of the district's payroll, but he does receive vacation pay and other accumulated benefits. questions afterward but reason for the resignation, saying quote... but thursday, his decision to block a nominee from president obama got some support... the group "judicial crisis network" has put out a t-v ad to thank republicans who've threatened to block an obama pick. the ad was made for seven different lawmakers, including grassley, who all face re- election this year. republican senators say the next president should be the one to fill justice antonin scalia's seat. "i feel that this is such an important issue and times are a lot different. we need to wait for a new president, it's very important . if people feel a part of this process, feel like they have something to do with choosing... i've been pretty clear." amanda: hear more from grassley and the people who think he's making a mistake, as we hash out this supreme court issue on our political show this weekend. amanda: in your other national headlines-- amanda: iowa state fans have grown used to senior point guard monte morris dishing out passes on the court. but yesterday, it was number 11 accepting the assist. hy-vee teamed up with the state of michigan to send eleven semi- trailers to flint to help out with the water crisis in morris' hometown. six of those trucks hauled gallons of water, the other five carried bottled water. the row of trucks left ames thursday...and could arrive in flint some time today. amanda: back here in iowa-- the weather may be nice this weekend, but many people are still spending it inside. we're talking about the state wrestling tournament downtown at wells fargo arena. it's the 96th year and it's the opportunity for high school wrestlers from across the state to prove their skills on the mat. local 5 sports director jon schaeffer is live now at the well. let's check in with him. jon? jon/live: 2016 ihsaa state
