" " see some more loss of jobs in short term. but over long term we believe they'll do research activities here in johnston, employment numbers will go back up again, possibly higher than what we have currently" " claire/bam: dupont pioneer currently has 26-hundred employees. and the merger between dow and dupont pioneer is expected to be finalized in the second half of this year. reporting live claire powell local 5 news we are iowa. stephanie: thanks, claire. and with this big change coming to johnston. here are some numbers that show how the local community will be affected by the move. the city council reported visitors to the dupont pioneer headquarters in 20-13 spent nearly 3 million dollars, staying at hotels and eating at local restaurants. dupont pioneer makes up almost 40 percent of taxabale commerical value in johnston and 9 percent of all taxable value for the city.
