weather will continue into sunday morning, but a cool front will hold us back in the afternoon, so highs will be back in the 50s, which is still real nice! stephanie/2shot more than half a dozen people took the stand of the fazzino murder trial. good evening. i'm stephanie angleson. jack/2shot and i'm jack miller. tonight, the jury has had its first look inside difficult before emily's death. local 5 is case that started back in stephanie: alexander accused of drowning his wife, emily fazzino, in the family's bath tub while their children were home. the trial has been delayed five times since then. jack: local 5's claire powell continues our coverage of the trail from decorah in tonight's big story. day two of the fazzino trial started bright and early. with the state prosecution showing two lengthy demonstrations and calling seven witnesses to the stand. more ems and police highlighted their efforts to save emily fazzino that january night- in cpr demonstrations and bath tub recreations.

2012 search warrant- where they discovered a packed back pack full of the clothes alex wore that night, emily's jewelry, a 250 thousand dollar life insurance policy and divorce papers-- filed just six days before her death. but the most compelling testimony of all came last. the family's nanny for nearly a year- gave an inside look at what she called a "rocky relationship" through emily's known addiction to medication and fazzino's "controlling nature" questions, one if she was afraid of alex- what'd she say? -yes. then i asked her a second, i asked if she thought alex would harm or even kill her...... she nodded her head yes." with ten witnesses down in this trial, more are expected tomorrow- including key d-c-i agent, emily fazzino's sister and aunt and the life insurance company. we'll have continuing coverage as it gets

winneshiek county, claire powell, local 5 news we are iowa jack: local 5 will be covering this trial until the end. for the latest from the courtroom, visit our website, that's we are iowa dot com. stephanie: governor terry branstad's plan to privatize iowa's medicaid has been aproved. the new roll out date is april first. there were those who celebrated that announcement. but tonight, there are still great concerns over what this means for iowans who rely on this coverage.... local five's jacob peklo joins us now with more as our countdown to coverage continues. jacob? jacob: stephanie, one in every five iowans uses medicaid. now that they know this plan is moving forward, the concern now is where they will be covered. hundreds go out of state for services and treatments at specialty clinics like mayo. now, they're worried if they can't see the doctors they want... it could put a major strain on the system. reyma mccoy mcdeid,

disabilities feel like their voice has not been heard." a normal subcommittee hearing felt so much bigger than that, with 20 people testifying...and a packed house of people hoping for an oversight bill to carefully monitor the new system. emma schmit, rockwell city resident: "i'm concerned for my friends and my family that are on medicaid too. i think something needs to be done, i think this is wrong and i want to be involved." carla dempsey, mason city resident: "there is so much at stake here. it just brings tears to my eyes, honestly, what our children, particularly our young children are losing out on." tuesday's announcement that the governor's plan to privatize medicaid and medicare services was approved by the feds isn't sitting well for many iowans. the fight to preserve the current system has even caught the attention of former governor chet culver, who'd been living a quiet life since leaving office. chet culver, former iowa governor: "i love the people of iowa and just want to get involved and provide a forum for people with disabilities." while branstad says privatizing will create greater efficiencies, culver wants to ensure the programs don't lose their effectiveness. some say if the option to go out of state

committee is asking how this school was able to operate without any state oversight. "in the past, often when there is an investigation going on, there are sometimes we can't talk to who we want to because they are under investigation by other authorities and so we get what we can take and try to put it together through that. " jack: administrators from the department of education, human services, and the state's attorney's office will go before the committee in the coming weeks to look at exactly what happened. stephanie: new details about a shooting in a metro school parking lot last night. stephanie: turns out the man who was shot, was waiting to buy drugs when it happened. just before 9 o'clock last night, police found 18-year- old darrius colter shot outside of park avenue elementary . during their investigation, they also found a revolver and shell casings near the school. police are still looking for who was responsible. colter was shot in the upper thigh, there's no update on his condition tonight. jack: here's a scam

clerks in central iowa. the scammer calls in, pretening to represent the corportate office. saying it's about an audit. the scammer tells them to close up shop, empty the cash register, and then wire the money to them. to make the call seem more legitiment, the scammer says he's monitoring the clerk through the security cameras. indianoloa police say the scam is happening in west des moines as well. anyone who thinks they've been targeted should contact police. stephanie: a lot of eyes on a des moines as it shakes things up to make students of any gender identity feel safe... roosevelt high school is opening up two of its restrooms that used to be staff only as " restrooms. the change student created a petiton...and took it to school leaders says he knows there are students high school that transgender... lead the push she started her misson after seeing another struggle.

speaking out about the on going battle between his company and the fbi. a judge in california ordered apple to unlock san bernadino terrorist--syed farook's i-phone. apple has refused saying the data security of millions of law abiding people is at risk. attorney general loretta lynch... is urging apple to comply. " lynch: "judges all over the country and on the supreme court have said that those parties must assist if it is reasonably within their power to do so." " stephanie: tonight, apple explained his decision.. world news david muir. cook: "apple has cooperated with the f.b.i. fully in this case. asked us for all the information we had on this phone. and we gave everything that we had."" stephanie: despite rallies in support of apple.. a new pew poll finds.. 51 percent of americans believe that apple should unlock the phone. apple has until friday to file a response to the judge's order.
