gunman, who died in a shootout with police, has been identified as an employee of the plant. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: and the prosecution in the fazzino trial brought six more witnesses to the stand thursday... they included family members of the late emily fazzino, who died in 20-12. her husband, alexander, has been charged with murder in her death. today, the court will hear testimony from several doctors as the trial continues in winneshiek county. elias: the third thing you need to door... elias: des moines water works says it'll end the practice of dumping nitrates into the the company had needs to make some changes to the way it disposes of chlorides, by 20- 20. environmental groups say it's important to improve the aquatic life. sabrina: number four... sabrina: last night, the republican the debate stage....but the spotlight focused mainly on the top three. marco rubio and ted cruz working to take runner donald

also come in of a jury duty phone scam...where the caller claims to be "deputy jim lewis." they then threaten a fine for the victim failing to appear for jury duty. also being used is the utility phone scam, where money is demanded or utility services will be cut off. and also the lawsuit scam....involving claims that a lawsuit will be filed and the victim arrested if they do not make payment immediately... so what should you do if you received a suspicious call? hang up... do not call the number back... contact your local authorities about any suspicious call and help spread the word that a scammer is contacting people in your community.. elias: west des moines authorities have established a safety exchange zone... elias: such zones are meant to be a location where anyone buying or selling items online can meet to exchange the items...in a safe environment... the zone has been set up at the law enforcement

metro this weekend...and most of it begins today... sabrina: more than 300 exhibitors will be setting up at the iowa state fairgrounds for the des moines arts & crafts show... elias: vendors from eight states will take part in iowa's largest craft show.. the event opens this evening at the varied industries building.. the event goes through sunday, with everything from furniture to jewelry on display and for sale. sabrina: and there will be plenty to dance about tonight at the state historical building...as ballet des moines presents pop-up ballet...an evening of dance.. professional and pre- professional dancers will put on a special show... the free event will feature choreography from past and upcoming performances by the ballet troupe. elias: and for today and tomorrow, johnston will be the epicenter of bluegrass music for the hawkeye state... the bluegrass music association of iowa will hold its annual festival at the stoney creek inn for both days... music fans can catch lots of

elias: a newly restored plan has become the possession of the iowa air national guard... the jet has been painted to look like that used for missions during the vietnam war. sabrina: and after receiving a face- lift, the aircraft will be heading to its new home in washington, as part of a display... jess plue has more on the re- done jet. "this is an f-100 super saber jet- it' s been refurbished to look like one of the f-100's that flew misty missions in the vietnam war. "this plane was used as a fast-forward air controller. what they would do is fly low and fast, get the bad guys to shoot at them, and mark the targets. then they would call in bombing strikes to get teh bad guys," says david miller, paint facility manager. although this jet looks ready to go, the inside of the plane has been gutted...

"you're watching good morning iowa in hd. we are iowa." sabrina elias: on your money now elias: u-s lawmakers are accusing takata of faking test results to cover up the exploding airbag issue. a report cites internal documents from takata in the past 12 years. they showed company officials argued that data on inflator quality and testing ...was manipulated to hide the problems.

of people just start running out saying run, run and pop pop pop pop pop? was all i heard and then everybody started scattering out of the building and i didn't know what happened until i got outside and seeing wounded people coming out. police and witnesses say ford kept shooting until a single officer? the first to arrive? fires back. sot - sheriff there was a particular law enforcment here in heston that responded right away and even though he took fire he went inside that place and saved multiple, multiple lives. a hero as far as im concerned. in the end? four employees, including the shooter, would not survive? many more wounded. sot - sheriff - inside the building he shot a total of 15 people around 150 employees were inside at the time? worried friends and family waited for news. sot jennifer - i just can't believe that the guy that show people up was right across the street from us.

elias: the utility says it'll end the practice of dumping nitrates into the raccoon river. water works has been told it needs to make some changes to the way it disposes of nitrates and chlorides, by 20- 20. environmental groups say it's important to improve the livability for aquatic life. they're not the only ones battling some troublesome nitrate levels. down in ottumwa, they've had to use a blending process to bring the water level to appropriate concentrations.
