5 news midday. .we are iowa's most accurate weather team and we start with your forecast first." sam we're coming off an extremely warm and gorgeous weekend and while we are going to cool back towards average this week, there is still plenty of warm weather worked into the forecast. today we'll start with mostly clear skies although clouds will be building through the day. it is going to fairly mild and and windy with highs 50s. tonight we'll be cloudy with plenty of continued wind and into the upper 20s. rain will move into iowa early this evening wintry mix and then snow by tomorrow morning. roughly 1/2 an inch of snow is unlikely much of it will stick around with ground temperatures are. tuesday other early flurries we'll with highs in the low 30s. wednesday is going highs close to 40 and we have another small rain/snow chance on thursday morning. we start warming up again

today, finishing with d- c-i, dna, and special agent testimonies. be sure to stay with local five, we will have full coverage throughout the duration of the trial. lucas: also in court today. the man who crashed his car into a pole on ingersoll, killing a young mother. junior, was vehicular homicide and operating while intoxicated. he waived his jury trial and today faces his bench trial in court. it happened back in november. when mure junior crashed his car at the intersection of 35th street and ingersoll in des moines, wrapping it around a power pole. the passenger, scalicity boyd, died at the scene. lucas: taking a look around iowa now-- over to waterloo, where a man with autism has gone missing... this is 22-year- old ra-shawn montgomery. he was last seen friday night in waterloo, wearing a red coat and carrying a backpack. if you have any information , please call the police. lucas/1shot: and prairie city has been dealing with some water problems over the weekend... a leaky water

update on last week's event to help the children's cancer connection. this morning we know how much money iowans helped raise... this is video from "camping the night away," a big fundraiser for children's cancer connection. the money raised helps pay for a free summer camp for kids who have a cancer diagnosis, and their families too! "1:28 what we really encourage them to do is maybe the things that their cancer and all the people around them have told them they can no longer do. so we've had children who've lost an arm or a leg on the climbing walls.
