elias: good morning iowa! i'm elias johnson... sabrina: and i'm sabrina ahmed. it's x:00 a-m on wednesday march second elias: good to have everyone with us! and it's great to have central iowa's most accurate forecast with meterologist sam schreier! hey sam! sam: (sam adlibs) sam (sam adlibs) sam: weather adlib: after a snowy and cold day yesterday iowa is looking at a slightly warmer day with precipitation expected to come back through the evening as a mix of rain and snow. highs today will climb to the low 40s under plenty of cloud cover and a breezy southeast wind. we may see a few early sprinkles late this afternoon but we're mainly going to see a rain and wintry mix turning into light snow overnight through central iowa. areas north and east of the metro are expected to see heavier accumulations

in the number two spot this morning... elias: a complaint over a busy daycare raised questions over how many kids should be allowed at in- home daycares in des moines. after learning that one daycare was caring for more children than allowed by ordinance, the city moved to crack down on providers. but complaints and worries it would leave hundreds of kids with no daycare has officials taking a step back....holding off on any decisions. sabrina: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... sabrina: the president and senate leaders met to discuss the republicans' stance of not considering a supreme court nominee this year. with republican leaders sticking to their decision... through detox to get off of pain medication. the news had been kept secret from almost everyone, including her husband. alexander fazzino has been charged with murder in emily's 20-12 death. the defense has blamed it on prescription drug abuse. sabrina: and finally in the top five... sabrina: some startling news from the state auditor's officer about iowa's 9-1-1 system. iowa auditor mary mosiman has recommended improvements be made to the management of money collected for running the iowa's enhanced 9-1-1 calling system. an audit found most counties either under reported...or over-reported costs, with one off by more than a million dollars. elias: new this morning....the city of ames looking for input on improving a heavily used corridor. elias: thousands of cars travel along lincoln was each day, along with hundreds of pedestrians and cyclists... the roadway is also where i-s-u freshman emmalee jacobs

case of steven avery... sabrina: the wisconsin man was exonerated of sexual assault and attempted murder after spending 18- years in jail...but just two years after his release, he ended up back in jail. avery was convicted of the 2005 murder of photographer teresa halbach... elias: the 25-year-old had moved to green bay to start her career....and brittany falkers spoke with the man who offered her that chance... " "she was a loving, caring person and she loved people." retired photographer tom pearce says terea halbach was like the daughter he never had. "and she always had a smile. she was always happy about one thing or another." she came to his studio in green bay, wisconsin as a young photographer... looking to break into the business. "she wanted to learn and she wanted to be able to do what she loved." "and i found that she was really wanting.... to do the best she can and become the best photographer." he says teresa started as an intern at pearce photography, but with natural talent and a knack for putting people at ease... he offered her some studio space to persue her dream.
