65, more rain chances here and there, but looks like potentially rainy at times but a very warm forecast for our tuesday, rochelle. >> rochelle: thanks, jonathan. here's a quick look at stories that are making headlines across the country. residents in texas are busy cleaning up this morning after being pelted by twisters, snow and ice. officals say at least 11 people died in the tornadoes that swept through the dallas area. that brings the death toll from storms and floods to about four dozen in the last week. the severe storms have also made for a travel nightmare with more than 2800 flights across the u.s. canceled and about 4800 flights delayed so far due to the large storm system. rochelle: officials in cleveland are calling for calm. they're bracing for expected protest after a grand jury voted not to indict a white police officer for fatally shooting a black 12-year-old.

a small group gathered outside the recreation center where tamir rice died. rice was playing with a pellet gun when someone called the police saying the gun might not be real but dispatchers didn't pass along that information. only after the shooting, did officers discover the gun was not real. rochelle: a missing texas teen serving probation for killing four people in a drunken-driving wreck is now in custody in mexico. 18-year-old ethan couch and his mother, tonya, were detained weeks after they disappeared after video surfaced online showing he may have violated his probation. at his trial couch's lawyers invoked what they called an "affluenza" defense saying he'd been coddled into irresponsibly by his rich parents. rochelle: shifting gears to sports, it looks like the tigers have swapped their sneakers for flip flops. crysty tells us more. >> crysty: the countdown to college football's superbowl, so to speak, continues for clemson. but it's not all business this week at the orange bowl for the tigers. tim hill has that and more in this morning's sports minute to

33 annual survey >> crysty: welcome back to good morning column by a-your time it's 6:25. gallup's annual survey release shows who is coming out as this years "most admired public figure." according to the survey hillary clinton and president barack obama take that title but they've got some company -- donald trump. 13% of respondents picked clinton and 17% picked obama. trump followed behind with the support of 5% of respondents. clinton has topped the list more frequently than any other woman in the history of the survey. crysty: and speaking of clinton, as the race to the white house continues, four republican presidential candidates are set to speak to new hampshire lawmakers in their final weeks of the state's primary campaign. >> rochelle: donald trump, carly fiorina and jim gilmore will address the state house of representatives next thursday.

john kasich will speak o o january 20th. a cnn poll this month shows trump with 26% support in new hampshire while the other three candidates are all in the single digits. pitching themselves to legislators is part of their last big push for momentum in the first in the nation primary state. rochelle: and staying on the republican side of the spectrum, south carolina voters are getting another chance to hear donald trump's presidential pitch in person. trump will take part in a meet and greet in hilton head tomorrow. he also plans to speak at the winthrop coliseum next friday night starting at 7:00. the university has hosted several campaign events over the past several months including the democratic candidate forum in november. the state's first in the south primary is right around the corner in februaua. >> crysty: we will see more and more candidates in the palmetto state. crysty: still to come, crime is especially common during the holiday season >> rochelle: find out what officials are suggesting you do

get to more high heat and humidity. still warm, 73 as you are waking up and heading out. we are seeing that for much of the area, couple spots in the 60s, but all in all everybody way above normal. normal low 35, normal high in the 50s. that tells you how much we already are, already 20 degrees above normal and we aren't seeing the sun up yet. likely to see highs, record highs and breaking records today, our record high today is 78 and i think we probably hit 80 today. we hit 80 yesterday, i think more of the same comes today. wind out of the south 10 to 15, brings more warm air our way, more moisture and looking at rain breaking down for us, not a particularly impressive system. we have seen a tenth of an inch or so over the last 24 hours, most areas have seen some downpours. we've seen localized pockets,

things that could happen. >> rochelle: investigators are still looking for information on the bridgecreek road and hard scrabble road shootings. if you have any information on either shooting call crimestoppers at 1-888-crime-sc. rochelle: in orangeburg county a man is facing murder charges after the discovery of the body of a holly hill woman missing since christmas day. deputies say the body of 38-year-old loretta brunch was found in local waterway about five miles south of holly hill, off highway 453. investigators believe she was shot to death. 45-year-old harold pratt is charged in her murder. investigators say pratt and brunch got into some sort of argument shortly before her disappearance. rochelle: and deputies in kershaw county say a poorly secured go-cart landed two suspected burglars in custody. >> c csty: investigators say early sunday morning, drivers reported seeing the go-cart fall off a trailer behind a white pickup truck. when deputies caught up with the truck's occupants, jonathan byrd

several stolen atv's and drugs. crysty: a man riding a lawnmower has died after being hit by a pick-up truck. investigators with the highway patrol say the crash happened just after 11:00 saturday night. troopers say the truck ran into the back of the lawnmower when both were traveling west on windsor creek road in orangeburg. the victim's identity has not yet been released. crysty: the newly elected columbia city council members are set to take office. >> rochelle: that's right. at large councilman howard duvall and district two councilman edward mcdowell will all take part in today's swearing-in ceremony. you'll recall they were the winners of last month's runoff election. district three councilman moe baddourah will also take part in the ceremony. that's at city council chambers today at 3:30. rochelle: and the countdown to 2016 is on. tick tock. and over at the state house governor nikki haley is kicking off the new year by declaring january "south carolina interfaith harmony month." >> crysty: interfaith partners
