looking to the future. 33 our mike gillespie will have more on the bronco's win and much more from last night's game... coming up a little later on in sports. it's a scare for north carolina governor pat mccrory following last night's game. officials say governor mccrory sustained minor injuries after the vehicle he was riding in was rear-ended shortly after the carolina panthers' super bowl loss. mccrory's press secretary says the car the governor was riding in was totaled. according to a statement issued by the governor's office, mccrory experienced "minor pain," but declined treatment... and was able to continue to his destination in another vehicle. mccrory says, "we were very fortunate, and while i am still proud of the carolina panthers, this puts the game in proper perspective." back here at home... richland county sheriff's office says a suspect in connection with an attempted murder is back in custody. officials say

was a victim of a robbery and transported to richland e-r... where he was taken into custody. officials say when being escorted out of the hospital... gilmore broke away from deputies and fled. after a search... deputies say they located gilmore yesterday... in the 48-hundred block of monticello road. and an inmate, who walked away from a job site in spartanburg is over the weekend... is back in custody. the south carolina department of corrections says james buckner faces new escape charges and will be placed in a higher level facility. we're just one day away from the first-in-the-nation primary in new hampshire. and the latest c-n-n/w-m-u-r tracking poll shows donald trump is growing his lead in the granite state. 33-percent of those polled say they back the billionaire businessman going into tomorrow's vote. the race for second place is a tight one...between florida senator marco rubio, texas

country. all 15-members of the u-n security council are condemning north korea's rocket launch and pledging to adopt a new resolution with "significant new sanctions." meanwhile... secretary of state john kerry... spoke by phone to the foreign minister of south korea and japan... to reaffirm america's "ironclad commitment" to their security and defense. it's a sign of hope following a fatal earthquake in taiwan. taiwan media reports two survivors were pulled out alive from a toppled high-rise apartment building... two days after the magnitude six-point-four earthquake. at least 36-are dead... and more than 100-remain missing. and there's some new, troubling information on the zika virus. researchers in brazil found the active zika virus in saliva and urine samples... with the potential to cause infection. but the study suggests more research is needed on these alternative routes of transmission. carolina fans are feeling blue

returned fire. two sumter parents have been charged, after their nine-week-old baby was found with multiple bone fractures. 20-year-old alicia anderson and 22-year-old adam little are charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. police were contacted by the department of social services earlier this week, after the baby was brought to the hospital with a broken femur. after a closer look, doctors found other fractures, in various stages of healing. the baby is expected to be okay. chapin has a new police chief. seth zeigler is set to take take over the department today. he'll be sworn in at nine this morning at the council chambers at chapin town hall. zeigler, a chapin native, most recently served with the west columbia police department. he replaces former chief troy crump. we're just one day away from the first- in-the-nation primary in new hampshire. and the latest

a lot of folks had the super bowl parties last night, they stay up later than they normally do. but all in all it's relatively quiet. traffic is picking upon gervais and toward the vista from our roof cam. people are heading out the door, not stopping them, hopefully you can bundle up and stay warm first. we are not expecting action in the first half of the day, in the second half things will change up. temperatures are around the freezing. we were at 29 just a few minutes ago. 34 in saluda, those are the only spots technically above freezing. wind out of the southwest 5 to 7 but areas that are seeing wind will see more. it's feels like 28 in saluda. newberry 27 as well.

we are watching a few things here, we have a low pressure system off the coast, that won't bother us, that will move to the north and east, bringing rain. we are watching this cold front that will move through later today, it will bring us for one colder air, it's a cold front but a little chance of rain for us as well as well as breezy conditions as it pses through. look for the rain to be kind of mainly later this afternoon into tonight a fairly fast-moving system, not expecting a lot of impact due to the speed of it, it's going to get very progressive front and move through the area quickly, chance of rain probably most areas will be around a tenth of an inch or less. not expecting a lot of rain fall, nothing like we saw last week. temperatures all in all not too bad, it will feel colder than that, we are looking at wind gusts 25 to 30 miles a hour that will be out of the north and west. it will be cooler air coming in and we will feel colder air for

gervais. >> rochelle: welcome back to good morning columbia. rochelle: volkswagen is still trying to figure out how damaging its diesel emissions scandal will be for investors. the german automaker says it's pushing back its annual earnings report, which had been expected march 10th. they say a new reporting date will be announced as soon as possible. the company is also pushing back its annual shararolder meeting, which was scheduled for april 21st. volkswagen has admitted to installing software in some of its diesel-powered cars that alters the performance of engines when tested for emissions. rochelle: president obama is
