let's go and get the weather forecast. jen correa here. >> how are you? well, it is cool out there. temperatures have dropped into the upper 50s for pompano beach. low 60s down through miami-dade and upper 60s in the keys. 78 degrees in key west. as far as the winds, they are out of the north and it's pretty breezy out there at 13 miles per hour. so question is s ll you need those sweaters? >> yes, you will this morning. no rain on the radar but we are waking up to cloud cover just a little bit more now. there's plenty of clouds stretching across central florida. it will probably be one of those cloudy, mostly cloudy days. not a lot of sunshine even though high pressure is building in behind this front. it's definitely a cool one for us and it's staying cool throughout the week. i'll have more on that coming up. breaking news this morning, iconic singer david bowie has passed

bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. his career spanned five decades from his alter ego ziggy starbust two fame to the classic song space oddity. he released an album called blackstar. is he survived by his wife, super model iman and son duncan jones. two people were killed and this morning one is in critical condition. all of this happening at the country club along northwest 40th street. four people were inside a car when it crashed into a lake last night. right now they are trying to figure outow this vehicle crashed. >> we did have an individual on the

abc news, new york. all right. congrats to them. meanwhile people in the southwest are sti cleaning up after a tornado touched down on saturday. this is southwest florida. the weather service confirming the tornado packing winds up to 135 miles per hour tore through cape coral. governor scott got to some of the effected areas. 200 homes have light to severe damage. scott says he would make sure the city got help from the state, if needed, and he also said he's no stranger to tornados. >> i remember all through school we would have to go to the basement of the school because we have tornados alerts. some of the areas where i lived growing up, they got hit by tornados. it's a pretty scary time. unfortunately, in the case of a hurricane they have little notice. >> three people were hurt but should be okay. > od monday morning, south florida. temperatures are cooling

50s for pompano beach. but some of us, not too far from those 50s. ft. lauderdale at 60 degrees as well as in pembroke pines. 62 down through miami and mia-dade we're in the 60s. we can still drop a few more degre. no rain on the radar but waking up to partly and mostly cloudy skies. the cold front that did pass through last night is to the south of us. behind it still plenty of cloud cover. high pressure will be developing behind this. we do expect a mainly dry day today. winds will be out of the north so it will be breezy and feel a lot cooler this morning. i recomnd those light sweaters. here's a look nationwide it. pretty quiet conditions going on at the moment but there is a new front coming into the west coast and then a little bit of patchy snowfall over the northern plains and parts of the midwest and some lake-effect snow over the great lakes. now across south florida those winds are picking

in homestead. atlanta 26 degrees. zero degrees in chicago minus 7 in minneapolis. we'll start off with morning clouds. we'll see little peaks of sunshine here and there. after the cooldown this morning, temperatures are only heating up to the 70s and low 70s, that is. not really a beach day because it's cool out there. hey, if you want to head out to the beach, it will be breezy, slight rip current ricks, use that sunscreen even though we'll have plenty of cloud cover. no advisories for boaters but the winds are out of the north 15 to 20 miles an hour. for today we are only warming up top a high of 72 degrees but then as far as rain chances go, it is staying pretty active this week. it goes up tomorrow. that front that's south of us will actually lift a little bit to the north providing for that rain chance to go up 50% and then we'll have another low pressure system developing over the gulf and bringing us

driver was armed and dangerous before being taken into custody. officers were chasing down the freeway overnight. that driver ran a red light and clipped some cars. spike strips were used to flatten the tire it's causing him to surrender. intra train scare after police say a man was gunned down and killed. witnesses say the passenger was shot by other passenger on saturday night. a nurse on board performed cpr until help could arrive but the man still did not make it. new video released in the cell phone video you could hear popping sounds while james barker is already on the ground face down and handcuffed. officials now bringing in experts to authenticate the video to determine exactly what those sounds may be. >> from my experience
