we'll be talking temperatures in the mid to low 50s. today is just to prepare you. make sure the kids have a s sater or jacket. we're on our soggy setup due to the winds in the southwest and the surface winds are moving in from the north. and that's why we're keeping the cool air connection. with the exception of the low to mid 60s down by the keys. these temperatures are anywhere between two and four degrees cooler than what we woke up to yesterday. unfortunately the comfort comes with the rain, so you're definitely going to need those umbrellas throughout the morning. we have a better chance of storms throughout the morning. hour to hour our rain chances continue to go down. by about 3:00 today we will see some gradual clearing, some sunshine and drier conditions and highs today will only reach the lower 70s. let's talk about the rain affecting your forecast right now over portions of broward, coral springs. weston, miramar, pembroke pines all getting soaked.

these hollywood s srms will head towards aventura. i'll have more coming up. >> i want to talk about the rain as well. it's effecting our roadways. we've got our northbound lanes affected here. two lanes shut down until about 5:00 a.m. it's still really early so really no traffic. >> no slowdowns as of yet. in miami-de county we have reports of a broken down car right at the airport expressway. those speeds at 23 miles an hour. julie has mentioned it, and as you can see with our integrated traffic information it is raining all over south florida. i want to check to see if there are any slowdowns out there. we were seeing some slight delays right at okeechobee road where it meets at i-75. at this point it looks like things are nice and clear so we're seeing the grain. that's a good thing. we are accident-free again in both counties.

are investigating after three drive-by shootings last night. officers put ought several evidence markers. we're told one of the victims hit in the shoulder. the other in the ankle. our cameras rolling as police continue their investigation at northwest 118th court. at this point it's not clear how many people were hurt in the scene officers tell us there was also a drive-by near 14th avenue and northwest 117th street. police trying to figure out if the shootings are connected. and the store clerk robbed. erica rakow is live outside the store. it happened during the day. do we have a good look at who they are? >>reporter: it d happen during the day and no. it's a cell phone store and half of it is a smoke shop. two people stormed in and violenting attacked

beaten up and bloody. this is the own her a cell phone smoke shop at northwest 7th avenue. police say he was attacked and robbed in the store. >> it's crazy and make you feel very insecure. you're hear, working hard. people ce in and rob you like nothing. >>reporter: witnesses say the thieves fled with some cash and got away before police arrived. the blood-stained sidewalk left behind enough to put other people in the area on edge. >> he heard the screaming, and then when they opened the door, it was these young guys beat him pretty bad. >>reporter: the store owner is alive but it could have been a much different story if it weren't for his neighbors. they heard the commotion, rushed over and pulled the robbers off of him. >> the guys have to say thank you to them because they don't get shot. >>reporter: right after the robbery happened here, someone

that happened just a couple blocks away at ninth avenue. police looking at that to figure out if the two crimes were connected. they are looking for any information in either of these two crimes. we're live in north miami this morning, erica rakow, local 10 news. okay. breaking news right now. we are hearing from authorities in istanbul, turkey that 15 people are dead after an explosion. the cause of the explosion we're still waiting to hear. yes, i have an emergency. someone just stole my car with my daughter inside the car. she's in the back seat. i had the car off and they jumped it. i crank it up. i ran right in the gas front of the door.

get something, turned off the car and they jumped inside and left. >> that was the 911 call from a father whose car was stolen last week with a six-year-old stepdaughter still inside. it had near hollywood spriris boulevard. police say she was dropped off nearly two miles away from the gas station. today that thief is still on the run. right now the jacksonville sheriff's office said they do believe they found the remains of lonzie barton. office shares they found sksketal remains in a wooded area. braun is in custody facing charges of lying to police and child neglect. police say they believe nzie was dead before he was reported missing. now his trial was supposed to start yesterday but is being postponed due to t discovery of the

lonzie's mother, lana barton, pleaded guilty to lying to police. to know qua couch is expected to be released from jail today after the judge lowered her bond from $1 million to $75,000. couch placed on probation after killing four people in a drunk driving crash in 2013. developing this morning the white house pushing to pass legislation that will punish north korea. that act would deny north korea the money they need for its weapons programs. many arguing the new sanctions won't be effective unless the u.s. gets support from china. federal investigators are looking into what happened when a helicopter pilot says he was flashed by a laser while in flight. that pilot was a few miles from miami

detectives are look for four robbersho attacked a man right here. the group ran up to the clubhouse of the pompano lakes town house complex and just off camera detectives say they were punching and kicking a man before running away with his things. they stole his cell phone, skatebod and even a back pack before s.u.v. this happened at an inflatable boat company sunday night. the $20,000 each stolen off a 30 foot inflatable boat. the hit set him back. police do believe the same crooks may have target aid nearby business but the connection sdill not clear. take a look at this car, completely covered in ice near buffalo, new york. rain turning into snow early morning left one unlucky driver with a carcyc on his hands. needed a lot more than

we have the upper 50s everywhere. 5 right now in hialeah. kendall 5. 59 in pompano beach. northwest wind will continue. now this is all at the surface because i want you to know we are see something showers moving in because of the upper level winds out of the southwest. pretty breezy in some parts of south florida this morning. north west wind between 7 and 14 miles an hour. these temperatures have dropped between two and four degrees cooler than what we woke up to yesterday. you see the temperatures in the 30s and 40s, that arctic air will basically be pushing down to south florida. as we go into the later half of your afternoon and into this evening. we had this blanket of cloud cover and the upper level winds. we are unsettled. we've got somom showers and storms over portions of boca raton, i-95, u.s.-1, the turnpike also from boca raton, coral springs all the way south into the interchange at 55. the sawgrass expressway wet.

miramar, pembroke pines, davie, all dealing with some wet roadways as far east as hollywood in towards hallandale, miami gardens. it's dry right now over downtown miami that won't last long as some showers will continue to move in from the southwest wind flow. with the southwest breeze in place, we are going to keep the chance of showers in the forecast until 2:00, 3:00 this afternoon and then rain chances taper off. here's the snow we're talking about. check out these temperatures, it is freezing across much of the nation. these are the actual air temperatures. it's three below in minneapolis. you factor in the feels-like temperature and most of the nation is waking up to temperature in the teens an 20s. highs only in the low 70s. we'll see our temperatures drop off to the low 50s inland tomorrow. mid 50s near the coast. rain returns by the end of the week as another front moves in and cooler weather by early next week. >> thank you, julie. guess what, the rain is affecting our commute

broward county we go. this is i-95 southbound at oakland park boulevard. we've got a broken down tractor trailer. you can see obviously the roadways are pretty wet this morning. unfortunately with wet roadways that means you need to get up andet going this morning. we see the rain blanketing parts of browarh county in our roadways here. again, this is i-95 southbound. it's well off to the shoulder, not affecting travel speeds. again, you don't want to be speeding on those wet roadways. miami-dade countnt no accidents to report but we do have a broken down car affecting our lanes. seven people recovering this morning after a bus collided with a trolley. here's sky 10 over the scene. you can see there that cracked windshield on the transit bus.

it's just before five in the morning on monday. our burglar is seen on camera pacing outside a smoke shop in pembroke pines, then makes his move, uses something to shatter the front door and charges through. >>reporter: gordie perez owns holy smokes on northwest 184th avenue and pines boulevard. it's there that his surveillance system was rolling when the bad guy broke in. the crook goes straight for the cash box, passes by electronics then takes off leaving behind lots of damage. >> holy smsmes is here for two months and it's just amazing that somebody could come not wanting to work and just do what they are doing. it's really mind boggling. >>reporter: you could tell from that video the clerk was inside the store for about a minute or so, knew what he wanted and was gone. police say they now need the public's help to catch him. ben kennedy, local 10 news.

is on this morning to find the man behind a gas station hold up in hollywood. the robber wearing t t shirt over hisace as he pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk. poce say he got away with $500 and took off. although you can't see his face, he has very distinctive tattoos. we're still looking for the shooters responsible for two people leaving one in the hospital fighting for his life. the three separate shootings happening in miami over the weekend. a 15-year-old named adler hill was shot in a vacant field near northwest ninth avenue. >> even though this 15-year-old poi was not a student at miami public schools. he was a human being. he was a child in our community. >> the other person killed identified as jakwan leonard. call miami-dade crimestoppers if you

a taxi driver waking up back home yesterday morning. jose pena shot and robbed. it happened on his birthday. pena sitting in that cab right there was shot in the leg. this happened at northwest 12th avenue in miami. pena iss still recovering but says he is ready to get back to work. >> i have three kids. i need for my kid, for my wife and for me. >> pena not yet able to walk. doctors say he could have nerve damage. the person who shot him has not been caught. dramatic individual leto the recant of joaquin el chapo guzman. well, he was arrested friday after being on the run for months. now mexico has become

the u.s. and we're also learning miami is one of the places he could end up because it's one of several cities where he has been indicted on drug charges but it could be a year before he even moves to the u.s. it appears el chapo's secret meeting with academyward winning actor sean penn actually helped lead to his capture. penn who was working for rolling stone magazine at the time interviewed the drug lord back in ococber. and guzman escaped back in july from a mexican prison. he escaped a maximum prison facility in 2001. the first group of cuban migrants will begin their move to the u.s. today. nearly 200 of the 8,00000 cubans in legal limbo there. from there will try to cross in the u.s. if the pilot program moves to be successful, the next wave of migrants then will head that way. florida lawmakers back in tallahassee today for the start of the legislative session.

couple and their two children were inside. the victims have not been identified yet but neighbors say the explosion shook their homes right around: 30 last night. we're still waiting to hear what caused the blast. contaminated the public's drinking water while trying to save their own canals. florida power and light pumping water into the canal but some arguing while some did that to clean out their system they are pushing out contaminated water into the biscayne bay and the ground water which south florida drinks. >> all of that pollution is showing up in the national park, in the surface water and they even shut down well fields in the west. >> florida power and light arguing that pollution and saltwater intrusion are not new problems and it's not all their fall. they say they are willing to help to be part of the solution. > south floridians the time is 5:42. the temperature iu 59 degrees in miami, 58 ft. lauderdale.

finally feeling like winter for us here in south florida and it's going to last at least another day. it's going to get even colder later this afternoon into this evening and tomorrow morning. the winds moving in from the northwest anywhere between eight and 13 miles an hour. that's our cool air connection. with that said though, it is wet out there. plan to have the rain gear handy at least throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. i'll show you the setup in just a minute once we get through these temperatures. have you to be prepared for the cold. 58 degrees. 59 in hialeah. 63 in marathon. 48 in kendall. the wind picking up out of the northwest. wind speeds anywhere between eight and 15 miles per hour. the risk of rip currents for you beach-goers. not a great day to head to the beach. these temperatures are anywhere between one and three degrees cooler than what we woke up to yesterday. the cold, arctic air still to the north o us.
