still have temperatures holding in the 60s. these temperatures are anybefore between two and four degrees cooler than what we wok up to yesterday. we're going to start off with these showers and storms, steady showers moving in from the southwest wind flow in the upper levels of the atmosphere. temperatures only reaching the upper 60s. by noon we'll keep that slight chance of a shower with a northerly wind flow. highs will only reach the lower 70s. we'll have a reinforcing shot of cooler weather moving in by this afternoon. we'll expect some cloud cover but dry conditions by tonight into tomorrow. we won't see the showers right now affecting portions of miami-dade continuing to linger. developing right now miami-dade police are vestigating after three drive-by shootings took place last night. tfficers put out several evidence markers near 114th street. we're told two people were shot here. one of the victims hit in the shoulder, the

and our camera is rolling as police continue their shooting investigation at northwest 18th court. at this point it isn't clear how many people were hurt or if these drive-bys are connected. we'll keep you updated as soon as we find out more information. also developing this morning, a store clerk here, look at this man, he is recovering this morning, beaten and robbed, a bloody scene while he's on the job and today his attackers still out there. erica rakow in north miami where this happened. she has the details. >>reporter: so this right here is a cellphone store but it is also a smoke shop. police say two people stormed in and violently attacked a man just working inside. this morning they are ill searching for them. beaten up and bloodied. thiss the owner of a cell phone smoke shop on 119th street at northwest 7th avenue. police say he was attacked and robbed in the store.

it's called eye on the community and has cameras on it. erica rakow, local 10 news. 6:05 the time right now. a carjacker who drove off from a coral springs gas station with a child inside the vehicle still on the run this morning. >> someone just stole my car with my daughter inside the car. she's in the back seat. i had the car off and it's a push start car so they jump in. i ran right in the gas station, parked right in front of the door and walk inside to get something, turn off the car and they just jump inside and start up and left. >> thisappened thursday night near west sample road. the robber dropped the realizing she was in the back seat and a good samaritan helped get her back to our family. we're working to get more information about a crash of a box truck. the driver of that truck smashed and was

slamming into the back of the truck near the palmetto expressway. they say the driver hit another car just minute before. it's unclear what injuries they suffered. federal investigators are looking into a case of laser danger after a helicopter pilot says he was flashed by a laser. the pilot was a few miles from miami saturday. he says it happened night. those lasers are becoming a serious consistent for pilots. >> any time that you're distracted or blinded, even temporarily, can be a big thing. >> they can light up the whole cabin and really make it blinding to everybody. >> in 2012 president obama sign aid law making it a federal crime to aim a laser pointer at an aircrt. we have breaking news from overseas. at least ten people have been killed after an explosion in istanbul.

right now it's up clear what caused that explosion and it's also unclear if this is linked to terrorism. the blact happened in the city's tourist area. police taking measures in case there's a second explosion. and the white house pushing to pass legislation t tt will punish north korea for its latest nuclear test. lawmakers scheduled to vote today on the act. the act would deny north korea the extra money they need for weapons programs. now many are arguing the new sanctions won't be effective unless the united states gets support from china. our state lawmakers getting to work today in tallahassee. this morning the 2016 legislative session will begin. governor rick scott will be pushing for more than $1 billion in tax cuts while most target bringing businesses to our state. others could give you a break during back to school shopping season. a push t allow concealed weapons on to college campuses.

we are noticing a lot of the shower and storm activity. we're not done with the rain quite yet. wee just dealing with the light drizzle from boca raton, coral springs into u.s.-1. the heaviest amount of precipitation has already pushed offshore. right now just light to moderate rain by pembroke pines but there's plenty of available rain that has just moved offshore from the gulf of mexico headed in towards alligator alley. the storms are moving to the southwest. there is some heavy rain offend portions of the lower and middle keys right now. you'll have to deal with some showers from time to time throughout the morning. don't worry, this won't be something that effects our all-day forecast. as it does so, we are expecting high pressure to build and that will provide for a dry, stable atmosphere tonight into tomorrow allowing our temperatures to drop even colder as we wake down lows tomorrow in the low to mid 50s.

a lot of that congestion, that's due to an accident scene. here's a liv look from our traffic data. you can see those speeds at eight miles per hour. those delays stretching all the way past the big curve to that accident scene. three miles. again, if you are traveling out this morning in any county, it looks like the roadways are a mess. use caution,et out earlier. i-95 northbound at sheridan. reports of four lanes of traffic blocked. that's since reopene slowly and slowly the speeds are picking back up. we're seeing 11 miles per hour. once you get past that exit ramp there. some other things to get to east bound. we had two lanes blocked at the airport expressway at 22nd avenue. from there we are still seeing heavy delays. those speeds at two miles per hour and finally the turnpike still a mess as well. we had several lanes here blocked but it looks like things are beginning to pick back up with those speeds at 30 miles per hour.

that's what's keeping both husband very busy this morning. heavy rain has caused those issues for the morning commute. the good thing is it's not going to rain all day long. any rain causing days to your morning commute starts off the day kind of rough. by the afternoon you'll be seeing gradual clearing and sunshine. currently temperatures in the upper 50s right now ft. lauderdale and miami. a northwest wind providing for that cool air connection driving in cool, comfortable conditions for us. hey, pompano beach checking in with 58 degrees. 63 in marathon. winds picking up anywhere between seven and 12 miles per hour and that northwest wind is going to continue to drive in yet another reinforcing shot of some cooler weather by tonight and into tomorrow morning. you're definitely going to feel it. temperatures anywhere between one and two degrees cooler than yesterday. right new that cold arctic air staying over the northern half of the state. 20s and 30s. much of the nation

across the midwest this morning. for us we're happy to see our attempt in the 50s. it's a taste of winter and we are seeing that rain. unfortunately, that rain will continue to linger. the last bit of the rain from showers and storms over las olas and into ft. lauderdale. we're drying out over pembroke pines, miramar and into downtown miami. plenty of in is just to the west of us. don't be confused. even though we have a surface wind providing for that north air to bring us cool conditions, eventually all of this moisture will push towards the western atlantic and we'll see high pressure building from the north drying us out and cooling us off even further going into evening hours. we do have lake-effect snow across parts of the northeast. they are finally going to be dealing with their first amount of snowfall. four degrees below zero in bismark and minneapolis. feels colder as far south as texas. look at those temperatures in the

let's quickly check to see where drive times are, 14 miles per hour. if you're in a hurry this morning, i would avoid i-95 in this location. take u.s.-1 or travel west to u.s.-441. now to our top stories on this thursday morning. a third pern has died after a car crashed into a golf course lake on sunday night. a fourth person hospitalized died along with his brother and another man. it's still unclear how that car ended up in the lake and if the driver will be facing any charge. and the remains of 21 month old lonzie barton m have been found by the jacksonville sheriff's office. that toddlerer has been missing since july. police say his mother's boyfriend led them to the remains. he and his the boy' mother are facing charges. we'll be back just before 7:30. we'll all be here with a live local news update. >> certainly got reporters out there.
