the chaos late monday morning. this man mesa posing as customer strikes up a conversation with owner. minutes later nis partner in crime shows up. the man pulls a gunpointing it at the owner dismanning cell phones and cash. owner doesn't go down without a fight but the armed robber won't back down. owner. second later, this really becomes an unfair fight. two on one, blow after blow. the owner isn serious fortunately an employee working at the barbershop next door hears a commotion, a scream for help. he rushes over to see what's going on, and the robbers take off, fleeing with money. >> i'm mad because we work every day, every single day. >> michael: today employees return to the s sne of the crime cleaning up the blood of stained floors, a horrible reminder of a terrifying morning. >> you're shaken by this. >> yeah. he doesn't deserve it. he works so hard.

ronnie's out of the hospital. he's back home recovering. he didn't want to go on camera. now, i know it's hard to see those robbers' faces in that video, but police want you to take a good look. they're hoping someone has information that can help them lead the them to an arrest. we are live in north miami, michael seiden, local10 n ns. >> laurie: and we continue working breaking news, the lockdown of two hollywood also 62 has been lifted after a gun was found on e of the campuses. detective say a student at apollo middle school showed another classmate a gun he brought with him to school and that student reportedly tried to hide the gun. both apollo middlend nearby hollywood park elementary had to be placed on lockdown. students were allowed to leave finally when the dock lowns was lifted about 4:00 p.m. the two students involved are being questioned. >> calvin: it was anything but a weapon of day today as s u can see here from these live pictures hollywood beach. it's been rainy and wende but for how long? -- and windy. chief certified meteorologist

customers witness several of the store's shelves collapsing like dominoes. local10 news reporter neki mohan, she's live with the dramatic pictures. neki. >> neki: laurie, it was chaos after the collapse here at this party city store along powerline here in boca raton. it is closed right now while store management tries to investigate how this happened. >> it was just boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. >> neki: l.w. black was iide the store putting all guy greeting card police say. >> i was in the middle when the channel poppedut. >> i was in the mil have it. the channeled popped out. i'm sitting in the middle and everything else was hidden behind me. >> i saw one woman standing there very shaken up. i asked, oh, my goodness, all the shelves were down to -- starting from the wall all the way down to about the middle of the store. it looked like all rubble, just flat, flat rubble. >> neki: workers from nearby stores rushed to help.

sasha watched the place for days in december and noticed that some of those training happened on the side of a public road. sasha was even able to walk into an area of that facility that houses explosives. any gate she passed you can see was wide open, including the one around the explosive storage containers. she was never asked to stop, never asked to leave. and because of our investigation, ileana ros-lehtinen and ted deutsch sending this letter to the comptroller general this week calling for a review of the ata program. in the letter ros-lehtinen said she is, quote, troubled by recentedia reports that identified potential security vulnerabilities in that ata program, including the vetting of potential ata studentnt the security of training facilities, the control and monitoring of equipment, and potential cases of ata students overstaying their visas while in the united states. bill o'gara is the founder of that facility. he told us the facility i

properly stored and locked. no dou we will stay on top of this one for you. calvin. calvin: he was trying to do the right thing getting in an uber after a night out with friends, but pablo sanchez yes, sir would never make it homee after a violent crash and explosion in southwest miami-dade, and now his parents have filed suit demanding uber take responsibility. our local10 news reporter derek shore live now in southwest miami-dade where that crash happened. derek. >> derek: and, kampf, today that victim's family attorney telling us he believes that uber driver was either nodding off or texting when this crash took place. it happened at this intersection and it was a violent one. you can see a wall was taken out when it happened. today the sanchez family saying they want justice, and that of the that they say will be having uber admit some responsibility it's the face of a grieving father. pablo afternoons senior mourning the loss of his son pablo, jr. killed in this

christmas. the sanchez family joined by their attorney today announcing this lawsuit against those involved in the crash. among them, aub, the app-based transportation network. >> he and his three friends entrusted their lives to uberand the driver. >> reporter: the tragedy lighting here at southwest$& 144th and 157th avenue. the suit claiming that aub driver jean adam was drying pabloo and his three friends after a night out. the suit alleged he under the left into an oncoming krolla. the suv fpped and exploded. >> this driver was observed to either be nodding off, dropping his head, i don't know whether he was fling asleep or looking down to engage in some sort of texting. >> reporter: the suit goes on to claim that uber failed to ensure the safety of palm beach lito and has little if any policy in place from stopping drivers from working too many hours.

public and private money, and until very recently the board has been saying publicly that fundraising was right on target. we now know that is not the case. today we learned that the county is coming up with a plan b because, by all account, failure not is not an option. >> you're looking over a giant gold stream chaffin 500,000-gallon tank. big fish, sharks, tuna and everything else. >> glenna: it's a construction marvel at the moment and a bayfront showcase to be science and technology. >> education remains at the heart of what we're doing. >> glea: $150 million in public money is building miami's new signature science museum, but we learned the expected 100 million more in private funding for the exhibits and corporations has come up short. >> we're not putting any general fund money into it. >> glenna: miami-dade as a mayor has told the museum's board no to moreublic money,

a plan to front load 20 years worth of annual county funding already allocated to finish and open the museum. then future private funding will replace that for annual operations. >> i don't like this more than anybody else but when you look at t options, there's there is no sop shon of keeping it closed. >> we have aspirations to be the next great cultural center in this hemisphere so this aggressive plan of fundraising was part of the formula for that. >> glenna: yes, the plan moves the funding issues down the road, but the thought is once people seeee this and what it is open, the finincial support will be much more forthcoming. >> as it comes to fruition, we're seeing that more gifts are coming along. jesse hartnett it's just note coming along as fast as we need to complete everything for opening, and the longer it takes, the more expensive things get so we really want to get to opening as fast as we possibly can. >> glenna: you will see the signs go up, the name of the museum is the pa trash and

the meantime, though, it was pretty chilly out there today. we did not even touch 70 degrees. miami only making it up to 65, that's about 10 degrees below average for this time of the year. we're still hanging onto the mid-60s right now but with that north-northwest wind, that will surely change by tomorrow morning. so get ready to be chilly as you head out early. clouds around for the evening, cool overall, and by 10:00 tonight some of you should see 60 degrees or could see that by that hour before we finally bottom out later tonight. doppler radar not terribly active. there may be a few areas of sprinkles out there. we'll keep an eye on just off the southwest side of the peninsula, these gulf of mexico waters. any little shower that develops because that southwesterly flow aloft is not going anywhere so we will see if it means sprinkles or raindrops passing through some of your neighborhoods. but the balance of rain we saw earlier today is a done deal. for now it's mid to high level
