cutler day, boca raton boynton bay and key west. this is what you will be playing for saturday night, a measly $40 million. remember local10 news is the only station where you can catch the numbers come in live. the next drawing is this saturday on local10 news at 11:00. >> and now to breaking news, all flights are now back on schedule, but there were departure delays for jetblue passengers here in south florida. the airlines' computer system stopped working at hole international airport and faced delays and flight cancellations. jetblue used social media to let its passengers know what was going on. the airlines' website was also down today, but it has been restored laurie and calvin with jetblue's computer system. once again all flights are back on schedule. >> we have breaking news coming out of chicago now. a judge has ordered the release of video that shows a teenager shot and killed by police. let's get back to janine in the newsroom with the latest on this. laurie, this video just released shows the 2013 shooting death of 17-year-old cedric chapman.

this video to be released now for american red cross. the video shows that officer with his gun drawn. chapman at some point you'l see he then comes into view. chapman's mother says this video shows that her son was not at aggressor. they say he was shot while running away from police. that family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. that officer who shot chapman says that he fired after seeing him turn toward officers with a dark object inis h hd. investigators later determined it was an iphone box. this is a picture of chapman. police say he was a carjackings suspect. this shooting no doubt has caused a lot of unrest in the city. mayor ram emanuel and the police force have com under intense scrutiny in the recent american red cross. there have been even bee calls for that mayor to resign. >> right now hundreds of south florida teachers are in tallahassee today rally for change.

the steps of the state capitol. he's joining us live with what they're fighting for. carlos. >> laurie and calvin, lawmakers are taking up a handful of bills that deal with education. and teachers are the first ones to admit that much of these proposals won't have much of an impact on the classroom but that didn't stop them from making their case here at the state capitol. >> 3,500 strong teachers and school workers gathered on the steps of the state capitol with a clear message to lawmakers. >> rick scott does not know what to do with us. he hasn't been in the classroom if a long long time and we need funding to help our kids. it's all about the kids. they're our future. >> among the group that traveled to tallahassee are more than 750 teachers from south florida. >> they're being left out. they do not understand. if this wasn't for us, they wouldn't be there.

victor oh.. >> he is arrested for misdemeanor battery. this is video of the arresting officer's body camera. listen in. >> >> again, that's from the officer's body camera. it's very dark, but you can hear him tell the officer his first name and he's trying to explain what happened. police say carter and another man arrived at the hogs breath saloon and they were denied service for being too intoxicated. police say the serveillance video shows carter intentionally hitting a bouncer at the bar. and papayans allegedly punched the manager. they were both booked at the key west jail. this is his third arrest following a nightclub incident in 2002 and a double digits bust in 2005. carter a well known history of substance abuse that has even been family. and this is video of nick carter appearing before a judge this afternoon. his bond was set at $1,500. the judge also ordered him not to

and everybody was kind of shocked be under the umbrella. the rain was light, but it kept coming. >> and we could have more coming of moving in tonight. we have this big cloud hanging over magic city and we'll be stuck with this for tonight and tomorrow as well. temperatures have managed to move into the lower 70s. miami sitting at 72 degrees. the forecast for the evening does call for dance conditions. we're going to stay in a lot of clouds, so mostly cloudy as temperatures try to drop off into the upper 60s by about 8:00 tonight. this is what t t doppler radar looks like for now. broward and miami-dade, some patchy light rain in some spots. i'm watching what's happening on this west side of a pens la and month more of that likely toove in our direction. we can see some of those showers coming in over the keys at this point too. so this is what we're expecting for the evening. cloudy conditions and still on the

early morning some scattered rains possible. by tomorrow afternoon rain and maybe some gusty storms in the mix tol.so be prepared for that as we get into tomorrow and this is all happening as we push this area you're noting on the cloud and radar imagery, that's sending nor rainfall in our direction, and then this low pressure system over in the western gulf, that makes a move on us tomorrow and we're going to be watching that to see ift brings any storm storms in our direction. so the forecast, yelp, our friday is going to be drear re,y, but by later friday night we will clear out and that sets us up for a nice saturday. a high of 80. back in the rain and maybe some early storms sunday push another front through. we're cooling down again for monday. let's get a check on traffic now. jenice, i hope we don't have too many accidents out there. >> we do have a f unfortunately and we've got one in the express lanes on i-95 northbound. this is right at northwest 151st street. you can see the blinking lights there.

>> local10 news starts right now. >> a plea deal ends a five year ordeal for the family of an american airlines employee murdered by the man she loved. it all went down in a miami courtroom this afternoon. >> let's get right to local10 news reporter, glen that mill burg, she's live with the details. glenna. joel rodriguez is his name. he'll be in prison probably until he's in his mid 70s and the family of his victim had to sign off on it. here's the story. it seems like this family had more them. listen to how the judge has to almost convince him to apologize. >> is there anything you, mr. rodriguez would like to say before i pronounce sentence at this time? >> no. >> you have nothing to say to the family of your victim? >> i can say that ii am sorry. if i could turn the clock back, it

>> joel rodriguez never even looked at the family sobbing in the court's gallery. ey brought a photo of ruth fuentez, his girlfriend who he shot to death five years ago this month. >> did you find his apology at all sincere. >> i was hoping that joel would express some more remorse and frankly i was disappointed in his reaction. >> fuentez and rodriguez both worked for american airlines that's her taking tickets at the gate years ago and that's where colleagues saw them together for the final time. fuentez was found shot to death at home. a significant trail of evidence led to rodriguez's dress in new jersey american red cross later, significant enough to lead to today's plea deal. 25 years in prison instead of life. a deal agreed to by the family. >> fluopyram were here today, we know that she would forgive you. that's how she was.

>> before he was taken away, rodriguez through his attorney asked the judge to recommend that he be allowed to be in prison in a facility in the north florida area. apparently that's where his family is and he wanted to be close to them. that request went all but ignored. i'm glenna milberg reporting live in miami this afterno, local10 news. >> these two people are now under arrest, accused of threatening to light a denny's cashier on fire. this incident happened in oakland park. it was all caught on camera and local10 n@ws reporter terrell forney has the story from fort lauderdale. terrell? >> v vtor it was all part of a robbery scheme with this couple that went on for about a week. this afternoon they are both locked up at the broward county jail after we learned a relative turned them in. >> tiffany is her name and she is 20 years old. and now considered one half of a

we have guns and gas bombs. her boyfriend was also arrested and the two claimed to be homeless and blamed their wild an particulars on a heroin, crack cocake and flakka addiction. the cashier victims in all of the robberies say the pock marks on their faces likely caused by drug abuse made the couple easy to identify. >> and this couple is from indiana. they've only been in south florida for a few american red cross to complete a drug treatment program. well, today they're both charged with robbery with a deadly weapon and they're being held whout bond. we're live in fort lauderdal i'm terrell forney. local10 news. >> terrell, a family calling for help after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in liberty city. police say he was knocked off of his bike, dragged into an empty field and shot several times near miami northwestern senior high school on january 9th. now his family wants answers as to why he was shot to death and they're hoping for just advertise. >> he didn't deserve that.

>> pythons have been invading the everglades and in an effort to get rid of them they're teaching people how to catch them and there's a big reward for whoever catches the most. jenice fernandez shows us. >> through the m marsh, florida fishand life is searching for pythons. >> it can be like underneath vegetation, underneath dense vegetation. >> pythons have been spotted in florida since the 1980s, but it wasn't until about 10 years the f d.c. realized there was lots of them. the effect it's having on the evening oh system is troubling. these snakes can produce in great numbers and once they reach lengths over 8'they become a spread tore. >> they become spread tores for small animals, birds and afternoon malicious that -- and laurie and calvin with that they're also competing for space. to help get rid of the snakes, they

this is a month long competition where individuals and teams can go out into the everglades and try to catch these predators, the last competition was in 2013. there were more than 1,000 participants and a total of 68 snakes were caught. part of the challenge is that these pythons can camouflage so when you're out in the everglades, they can really blendnto the environment making it hard to even spot a python of this size. there is a specific way to catch these pythons safely. using a snake stick like this one and making sure to double bag them. >> if you see a python, you know you use this end to leaf around one of the cls and pull it out and that's how you can get it out in the open. >> jenise fernandez, local10 news. >> jenice has found out that the teen that catches the most could get $5,000. >> and the individual who catches the most could win more than 3,000 bucks. >> good luck and please be safe. >> caught on camera now, an ohion bus driver attacked by a man with a knife, but the shocker here is that he calls out for help and nobody on
