1:15 am
now, again this starts at 4 a.m. as far as that gale warning is concerned for us here in south florida. but we're also going to deal with the threat of severe thunderstorms. here's aive look out of mount sinai medical to tower cam. a few showers made their way to broward and miami dade. light to moderate prain fall but it's not too active over us, not just yet. but it will become worse as the weather deteriorates through t overnight hours. temperatures are in the low 70s -- mid 70less and upper 70s through the keys. 68 degrees in pembroke pines. could be a rain-cooled temperature. but temperatures shouldn't drop too much tonight. they'll actually warm back up again would once we pass, we have the warm front pass through and before the cold front. so here's a look at the winds. the winds are actually starting to increase, as well. they're turning now out of the south for key west, up to 17 miles per hour. winds will increase significantly by tomorrow
1:16 am
will be put into effect. we're talking about winds between 25 and 30 miles per hour. check out this radar. over the past few minutes, it has really become rlly active over the southwest gulf waters and then across portions of near naples and out into southwest florida. so broward, miami dade, we're still away from this, but this is essentially going to impact our area. still some rain across coral springs, it's pretty light, though, that will dissipate. but this is not the major threat. the major threat couldn't come until later overnight hours and into tomorrow morning. it's all due to that low off the gulf coast. slight, severe risk is in effect through tomorrow in the morning. as far as the impacts go, while these storms can produce some damaging wind gusts, but mariners and for any boaters out there, tomorrow not a good day to head out on the water. and again those wind gusts could go up to 40 knots, which means about 45 miles per hour.
1:17 am
here's a look at the in-house model. that front will eventually arrive by 5 a.m. across naples and then for us 7 to 9 a.m. is when we expect that squall line to come through. good news, it's a quick mover and then once i passes through, temperatures will quickly drop into those 50s by monday morning. will? >> will: jennifer, thanks so much. next the mercedes-benz sports report. already a new coach tonight. and a new offensive coordinator. more of the man who will have
