they must have finished their work much earlier for you. the only thing we're watching for you in dade county is this accident scene right at 12th avenue. we're seeing a little bit of a sloown with those speeds clocking in at 50 miles an hour. hopefully it will be clearing up soon. it's still rather early so it shouldn't slow down your commute too much. traveling northbound at pines boulevard, reports of two right lanes blocked. this is ongoing construction for anyone who lives out here. no major delays as of yet but again those crews will be out until about 5:30 this morning. >> constance, thanks so much. also developing for you this morning, a 14-year-old boy in the hospital after being shot in florida city last night. that shooting happened thursday night and eighth place. the boy air-lifted to nichlaus children's hospital.

likely is a gang-related shooting. right here several arrests made during martin luther king day ride-out. you may have seen these riders driving dangerously throughout miami-dade. it lasted for hours yesterday. we brought it to you live all throughout the afternn and this morning we're learning about this young man arrested during that ride-out. erica rakow live from the jail in ft. lauderdale to tell us more about him. >>reporter: this all ended with several arrests but this one we're talking about is an 18-year-old who is waking up in jail this morning. hollywood policeay gardener was driving a stolen dirt bike and ran a rl. he's facing multiple charges including grand theft and driving without a license. there were hundreds of motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle riders who took over the streets of south florida yesterday.

event they call bikes up, guns down. some riders say they do it to spread a message of peace and others say they just do it for the thrill. sky 10 flew over the crowd following them to help us keep you updated on where this group was. it started at 4:00 p.m., then up into broward county they went. they went through major intersections, also some neighborhood streets. this year officers were more prered to handle the massive crowd of street riders. many officers focused on gas stations where they figured riders would be stopping to fuel up. police were not able to stop the riders for safety reasons. they also impounded and towed several bikes. along with several arrests there were multiple injuries including one biker who was air-lifted with head injuries. we're live in ft. lauderdale, erica rakow, local 10 news. and breaking

are dead after a suicide bombing in northwestern pakistan. 21 were injured when that blast happened at a police check point. four police officers and seven civilians all among the dead there. the taliban claiming responsibility for this attack. and flames force a family out of their home in oaknd park. take a look at this, sky 10 over the mobile home. you can see a hole in the roof in the home and lots of damage. and gunfire at a fast food restaurant in northwest miami-dade leaves three windows shot out. you can see those three windows boarded up now. right now it's up clear hat motive was or if anybody inside was hurt. two men turn it the tables on a bandit trying to rob the store.

convenient store in deerfield beach. broward sheriff's office later identified that man was raymond prescott. he says he used the gun to shoot and kill the robber. >> i shoot like a duck. >> next thing i know, they are just firing back and forth. >> he came in from behind that window. >> similar scenario happening at the same store in march of 2010. a robber walking in, pointing a gun at the store clerk who grabbed his weapon and fired it. that robber did not die but was aested. a florida woman convicted of trying to hire a hitman to kill her husband. dalia dipolito's former lover will be questioned at today's hearing. he went to police in 2009 about wanting to kill her husband.

she was insisting she thought she was taping a reality tv show at the time and really didn't want top kiss her husband. dipolito's retrial is set to begin some time in may. some violent fighting breing out in haiti as the country prepares for presidential runoff on monday. thousands of opposititn protesters filled the streets of port-au-prince. the opposition candidate satisfies a runoff will be a big step back for the country's government. 5:06 the time right now. american airlines says it hopes to be flying regularly-scheduled flights from miami to cuba by the first half of this year. that deal is being processed and once it's done the u.s. department of transportation will give instructions to air carrieie on how they can apply for cuban routes.

she got angry and left. she was reportedly drunk at the time and walked around the corner and collapsed but nobody knew that it. wind chills were minus 27 degrees and that's why she froze to death. she was found on monday morning. a man survived the cold in pennsylvania. his recovery is being called a medical miracle. 26-year-old justin smith spent almost2 hours out in the cold before his father found him. nurses performed cpr on him for nearly two hours. a doctor warmed up his blood and as his body got warmer, his heart suddenly started beating again. yesterday he was there and thanked everybody who saved his life. >> wow. we have video this morning as the state continues to clean up after severe storms swept through multiple tornado touchdowns. you you can see a car's roof is smashed in.

this crash reported off the dolphin expressway west-bound at 12th avenue. we're seeing just a little bit of a slowdown this morning. looks like speeds are picking up just a little bit at 21 miles per hour. speaking of travel speeds, u.s.-1, if you're traveling from kendall drive into downtown miami, at this point it's going to take you 12 minutes. you see the car traveling between the green and yellow, it's traveling at posted speeds. it's going to take you a lot longer right in between the 6:30 and 7:00 hour from 16 to 24 minutes. officials say the utah police officer who was shot and killed on sunday night had been working overtime to pay for his cancer treatments. officer douglas barney shot and killed by corey henderson. henner son on the run from a drug rehab center and was killed during a shoot-out with police. barney had been fighting bladder cancer for 12 years and had won that battle. an atlanta pastor

make sure you follow us at wplg local 10. >> thank you. a teen shot a 14-year-old boy had to be air-lifted to the hospital after someone opened fire this morning. live from nichlaus children's hospital this morning in southwest miami-dade. ben, how's that teen doing this morning? >>reporter: good morning, eric. so far no word on his condition. we're told he was in very bad shape. he w!s rushed here behind me to nichlaus hospital in miami. let's take you back to that scene in florida city. just after 7:00 monday night a teen was shot. the 14-year-old was hit by the bullet. a chopper was called in to carry theeen to the e.r. officers on the scene say the shooting may be gang-related. it's not clear if the teen was targeted or an innocent bystander. that part is still under investigation. police s s they do plan to talk to the 14-year-old once he does recover and get his side

the oakland bay bridge yesterday. protestors said they were acting out against police shootings. protestors chaining themselves and the cars together to form a line across that bridge. they also laid signs reporting black health matters across the roadway. a st. paul, minnesota police officerut a post on his facebook page saying drivers should run over those protesting police killings. the protest was referencjng a killing in minneapolis, st. paul. the city's mayor says he is outraged and disgusted. he has vowed to take the quote strongest possible action allowed by the law. we know the name of a passenger injured in a deadly wrong-way crash. troopers say diego was driving in the red porsche. the car collided head-on with a car on saturday.
