has the forecast. good morning, , uth florida. i'm eric yutzy. >> i'm jacey birch. we got toet right to a traffic alert for you. broward's sheriff's office deputy and two other people in the hospital after a crash on i5. bso satisfies the deputy crashed into a car tha was stopped in the hov lanes stopped just south of copans road. >> we do have constance who is here with all the traffic details. all southbound lanes completely shut down this morning due to a crash around 4:00 this morning. looks like lanes are getting by from that vantage point b thahas not the case here. you can see obviously a lot of the red. those delays stretching way past sample road. as you see those speeds at nine miles per hour. so, hey, the story of the morning is to not take i-95 southbound. travel west, take 441 or the turnpike. travel east or take u.s.-1. all right.

after a flight from miami to milan hit turbulence. the turbulence trouble hurt at least seven people forcing that plane to make an emergency landing in canada. the big question is when will they actually make it to milan. erica rakow is live foror us from the miami international airport with all of the detailsls this is downright scary. >>reporter: it is for a lot of people. month are than 200 people on that plane includudg the passengers and the crew, jacey. they took off from here, miami international flight yesterday afternoon at: 30. it was supposed to go to milan, a nine hour flight. it only went five hours. it was nessary to get the injured flight attendants and passengers treated. th pilot described the worst injury on a call to air traffic control.

deaths across 12 states anan the district of columbia. lana zak has more details from d.c.. >>reporter: this weekend's storm was one for the record books. nearly two feet of snow in some areas of washington, d.c. it was the biggest storm ever in baltimore at 29.2 inches and in new york's central park a new 24 hour record with 26.8 inches of snow grinding to a halt all forms of travel. well, almost all forms. drivers on the pennsylvania turnpike were marooned for up to 30 hours crebting an unique situation, sunday mass on the highway. and on the jersey shore, blocks of ice floated down flooded streets, the snow building continuously throughout the weekend. in virginia and up and down the coast the weight of all that snow

the plane on its way to the keys from peach when the pilot experienced mechanical issues. two passengers were on board with the pilot but no one was hurt. we're still waiting to get word on the firefighters at a haz-mat square in ft. lauderdale. crews contained the fest side leak but not before a firefighter was exposed to it and had to be taken to the hospital. a man accused of shooting a miami police officer. he is accused of ambushing and shooting officer david starling. when he learned he would not be getting bond, he had a courtroom outburst claiming he was the victim. >> sir, these are non-bondable offenses. >> i can't get a bond. >> do not talk about the facts, sir. >> my life was in danger

out of jail in southern california. now police in santa ana say there was their jail cell, the last place they were seen on friday. it appears they cut through the steel bars in their cell and cut through plumbing tunnel to see to access the roof and then used sheets to rappel to the round. police are trying to figure out how they

search for the men considered very dangerous. i've never seen two people happier to go to jail because they knew thth were going to be dry and warm. >> also in california two fugitives realized they needed police after trying to escape a snowstorm. the two men had active warrants out for their arrest when they were pulled over in sam.. they ran away, ran across the river, ran through the snow. hours later in fear of freezing to death they made that call to 911 asking for help. both membership were found and treated for hypothermia and trereed for frostbite before they were arrested. a north carolina man allegedly shot and killed a good samaritan. a group of men said they stopped to help marvin lee. they got to him, realized he was acting strainthly so they told him they were going to call police. that's when the 27-year-old allegedly jumped out of his car and opene fire.

roughly 45 minutes a ago, one lane was getting by but not so much anymomo. let me show you what our traffic cameras look like now. a little bit different from this vantageoint. i-95 southbound at copans road closed and likely be closed until the sun comes up as this is an ongoing investigation, this crash involving a bso deputy. so this is what the story is. if you are traveling out south, it looks as if they are forcing people off of sample road. so instead you're going to want to start your commute either further west or east obviously, not taking i-95 southbound. this is southwest tenth street. those delays are stretching for several miles and seeing about three miles of delels there. again, travel west, take the turnpike,e, 441. travel east, take u.s.-1. do not take i-95 southbound. you're going to be stuck in a whole lot of mess this morning.

>> glad to be on the ground. even it canada is no where near the plane's scheduled destination. >> i'm just happy to be alive. >>reporter: people on board the flight from miami bound for italy say it was a scary situation. >> the plane aually dropped. >> everything went flying. >> nerve wracking. >>reporter: the pilot contacted air control requesting to make an emergency landing a aer multiple people got hurt when the plane hit rough air. >> the most urgent one is a flight attendant bleeding. that's the most urgent on the others need attention but they are okay. >>reporter: paramedics met the plane on the tarmac right after it landed. at least four ambulances and a fire truck were& seen there. four passengers and three flight attendants had to be taken to a hospital.

only station in port-au-prince as protests turned violent on the day that should have been the day haitians returned to the polls. the dend for the president's martelly's resignation are growing louder. haiti's election council has not yet picked a date f the runoff race. it's unclear as to whether he will step down when that date comes or if he will remain in office until the replacement is ultimately elected. glenna millberg is the only south florida reporter in haiti. she will have a live update on the election crisis later on today. let's get to vote 2016. the long list of candidates running for president could get longer. former new york city mayor michael bloomberg is considering throwing his name in the race. a decision could come as early as march.

it was a man in his 60s. investigators are trying to work to piece this one together. it appears it was atragic accident. the plow driver has been cooperative with police and no charges have been filed. big traffic story of the morning. i-95 southbound shut down due to this pretty serious crash here involving a bso deputy. we know three people taken to the hospital with this one and i do suspect they will be out here foruite some time investigating waiting for that sun to come up so they can get a clear idea. take a look at those delays, guys. it's a mess. from the traffic cameras on the ground, you can see all lanes of traffic ocked on i-95 southbound and those delays stretching formiles for anyone traveling in the spot. the crash reported copans but they are force folks off right at sample road. what that means for you, don't take the i. all right. travel west, take the

we are in the low 50s though. the 40s down in southwest miami-dade. so inland temperatures andre also cooler. meanwhile the keys are in the 50s. winds out of the north as i mentioned and eventually turningut of the east today 5 to 10 miles per hour. radar no rainnd it will stay nice and dry for the rest of today.meanwhile we do have a high pressure building across the eastern u.s.. and eventually will push out into the atlantic bringing back a warmup for friends across the datlantic and the northeast and that will use a major melt down with all that will snow that could impact the roadways for our folks in the north. but this is the next system we'll be tracking because it will bring us back the rain here in south florida. check out the highs today. up to portland, 52 in raleigh and then tomorrow there's that warmup back up into the 40s and back here in south florida, yes, we're warming up. today it's comfortable though in the low 70s

trafc alert on i-95 southbound. a broward sheriff's deputy, two oer people are in the hospital this morning after the crash took place right at copans road. the deputy crashed into a stoppedar on the roadway but it's still unclear how badly they were hurt. all the southbound lanes are csed on i-95 so take your alternates. do n jump on the highway there. the american airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in new finland last night. the four passengers and three passengers hurt, they are expected to recover. also the french government is studying a new video released by isis who featured the extremist who killed people in paris beforethe november attacks. the video is too graphic to even though you. in it they are shown beheading captives. the cleanup only begins today. this weather is being blamed for two dozen
