saved from a sinking ship. a lexington yacht sinks right off the coast. janine stanwood was there as they brought back reports from the miami coast guard station.n. >>reporter: this shows the yacht sinking several miles off the ft. lauderdale sea. the people on board we're told had little time to get to safety. >> it was taking on way too much water. >> about 25 minutes when the last person was taken off the vessel is when it completely sunk. >>reporter: tea tow who provided these photos also assisted in the rescue operation. >> once we arrived on scene, the vessel was listing heavily approximately 15 degrees and it rapidly started taking on more water. >> extremely hostage ck situation. it was choppy seas, high winds. it's not the most favorable weather, but at the same time we have some of the most sufficient crews.

able to get on board the coast guard cutter and safety. the serena three by all accounts a luxury yacht sank quickly. >> it's just another boat that's going to be out there. it's too deep water to recover where it's it at. >>reporter: the coast guard is investigating why that yacht started taking on water in the first place. we're tololby the first officer that the serena three was just three years old. a gunman hiding out in a store, bursting in on employees while they were cashing out. this terrifying attack all caught on camera. that crook just walked away from the crime and walked away with thousands. andrew perez has the story. >>reporter: this guy walks into the deals plus store in west park, apparently chatting on his cell phone, posing as a customer. instead of shopping he hides inside. once the store closes, he ambushes employees in

drawn. the employees are seen shaking, hoping nothing happens to them. >> i saw the scare on their faces, and it's sad to see anybody go through that. >>reporter: david ho owns a blinds store nearby a a this reaffirm his worst fears. they broke into next door. they broke in next door as well. it's just scary. just hoping it never happens here.@ >>reporter: our crook seems pretty calm throwing his bag and -- filling his bag and walking out. on this way out the guy tells them to count to 100, keep their heads down and not to move,all giving him time to jump in his car and take off. policeceelieve he made his getaway in a red infiniti similar to this one. authorities say this guy is just cold and they are following all leads to catch this crook. this was our first look at the video. this happened just before christmas and one of the employees is so scared, she still hasn't come back to work.

information that could help out deputies, give the broward sheriff's office a call right away. remember you can remain anonymous. i'm andrew perez, local 10 news. he kicked out a police cruiser's window and jumped out right on to the palmetto exhressway. this morning the man behind the wild and daring escape is behind bars. victor oquendo has more on the man nope to law enforcement outside florida. >>reporter: why did you run? back where he belongs. the 33-year-old fudge five is spending his night on the run. his time on the run is ending in dramatic fashion. somehow i couldn't lis's managed to break out of jail on monday morning. >> he started kicking outthe back windows of the police vehicle. he was able to climb out or exit the vehicle somehow and decided to ee.

he stole this white van from the quality inn leading police on a short pursuit, coming to an end in this parking lot of the walgreen's on 97th avenue. nobody was injured but police say he ran into two vehicles and nearly t a pedestrian. this fugitive had been hiding from authorities. authorities say he used prostitutes to prey on his victims. >> he used women to lure the victims to hotels and rob them. last year's crime spree made headlines all over south florida. >>reporter: he was arrested monday morning after investigators learn that he was trying to flee the country. before finally walking into the jail, he had a message for his mother. >> sorry, mom. >>reporter: he's facing charges in both florida andeorgia so police in both states are happy to have this guy in west. victor oquendo, local 10 news.

on local 10. a woman trapped underneath her car, the rescue all caught on camera. that was the scene on sunday night on taft street. rescue teams working to free that woman. before crew as rife it was stephen kutino who jumped into action. >> before i was there, all she kept saying was drive the car off of me please, please, help me. >> cutino said he used a jack to relieye the pressure. it's not clear how she ended under that car or how badly she was injured ere. this morning a broward sheriff's deputy is recovering from a crash. we brought this to you yesterday morning. that deputy along with twtw others taken to a hospital. we're told none of those injuries are life-threatening. a plantation home caught on fire and it was all becausehe family inside was trying to stay warm during our

lakes. new dash cam video this morning right here of a florida highway patrol trooper getting hit by an out of control driver. it happened back in october after a trooper pulled over a driver on the turn pike. when he walksback to his cruiser, a driver loses control and slams into him. he had serious injuries. he's still recovering this morning. they say close calls happen like that way too often. a miami gardens police officer continues to recover this morning after he was shot in an ambush this morning. he was shot in the backside. police say the gunman took off, crashed his own s.u.v. as officers gave chase. he went before a judge over the wkend and was denied bond.
