than what you woke up to yesterday. u're going to feel it. we all felt it this morning. dedenitely a change. warmer and comfortable throughout the morning. it will be temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. by the end of the morning we'll see tempererures in the upper 70s leading into the afternoon. warm and breezy. enjoy it because a big change comes in the forerest by tomorrow. >> another change? good morning, south florida. i-95 looking really good. here's a live look at i-95 and 135th street. traffic moving but there are reports of some slowowwns out there. with my traffic data here, i can show you exactly what i'm'm talking about. i'm talking about the i and 135th street. looks like our northbound lanes are experiencing just a little bit of a slowdown this morning. that's where we had two to three lanes of traffic c ut down because of the construction crews and those speeds aree clocking in at 52 miles per hour to 38 miles per hour. but theyhould be out of there around 5:30 in the morning.

if you're traveling eaststund starting at i-75, cruising over to u.s.s., going to take you about 15 minutes to get there. your average speed about 56 miles per hour. right now more than dozen people dry on land after being saved from sinking. their luxury yacht started taking on water. they had to be rescued. here's the boaoa right here. really rough conditions out at sea. ben kennedy tells us more about this r rescue. >>reporter: good morning, eric. this captain got his ew and passengers out safe. he was really quick to act. minutes later the coast guard jumped in to help. we caught up with the team after they made it to shore safe. the serena 3, 13 on board was sinking more than ten miles off of ft. lauderdale beach. the coast guard launched a team of rescue crews to save those in trouble at sea.

to freeport in the bahamas. it began to take on water. a surprise to the crew since the vessel was only three years old. >> first i didn't think the boat was going to sink so i wasn't nervous. we just made sure we god everybody in their life vest and wee deploy a ship. i didn't think it was going to sink. >>reporter: the rest is now under water. it is still not clear this morning exactly why this boat began to take on water. they say that part is still under investigation. reporting live on miami beach, ben kennedy, local 10 news. breaking overnight, malaysian authorities say 13 migrants from indonesia drowned when their boat capsized in rough seas. the body found washed ashore on a beach near

they believe that boat was carrying about 35 migrants. developing now a great escape. a man behind bars after he kicked his way out of a police cruiser. we're talking about 33-year-old andrew you'll -- ulissey. he will appear before a judge in miami on even more charges. that's where we find erica rakow. she's live with more details on this great escape. >>reporter: this guy was also wanted in georgia. he is waking up in jail iniami. in a few hours he will go before a judge. his attempt to escape all of thatzesterday morning. just adding more charges to his rap sheet. >>reporter: why did you run? shouting back to our crews as he was escorted into jail.

ended in a dramatic and dangerous way. miami-dade police took him into custody yesterday near 137th street and collins avenue. while sitting pa in the back of the patrol car he broke one of the windows and jumped out on the palmetto expressway. he didn't just try to run. they say he then stole a van from a hotel parking lot and led them on a straight chase. nobody got hurt bute did crash into two cars and hit a pedestrian. turns out he was also wanted in georgia for some very serious crimes. police say there he used prostitutes to lure victims to hotels and en rob them. he was wanted on a slew of charges there including kidnapping, armed robbery and terroristic threats. miami police was tipped off he was possibly here. as he was walking into jail he also yelled out a message to his mom. you're going to hear that message coming up

erica rakow, local 10 news. a woman trapped underneath her car, the rescue caught on camera. take a look. here's the scene on sunday night as rescue crews worked to free her. >> before i was there, it's like people driving by, no one stopped to do anything. all she kept saying was drive the car off of me please, please, help me. >> he says he used a jack to try to relieve the pressure. a short time later rescue teams got her out. it's not clear how she ended up under that car or how she's doing this morning. a broward deputy is recovering from a crash on i-95. remember we brought this as breaking news just yesterday morning? brian miller crashed into a car, stopped in the car pool lanes right along copans road. we're told none of the injuries are life-threatening. and a plantation home caught fire and it

family inside was tryg to stay warm during our cold snap. rob ramirez says he turned on the central heat because the cold temperatures but say they hadn't turned it on in about a decade and soon they smelled smoke. >> i thought i'd go and put up the hose. >> in my living room, everything in a couple of the bedrooms, the beds are soaked and roofs collapsed, the furnitures ruined. shot six times at the seminole reservation in hollywood. police say he jumped a wall that divides the reservation from the city and shot by homeowner.

odell from a previous arrest. it's unclear why odell was on the property but police say he was unarmed at the time. dozens of schools all around the country from new york to down here in florida had threats made against them on social media. in one post someone said they would bring a gun and shoot students who tried to stop them. schools are taking extra security measures. other threats were made in alabama and michigan. florida state university has reached a nearly $1 million settlement. the total payout, $950,000 per the university. the@ former student will receive $250,000 while her attorneys get more than twice that in the amamnt of 700,000. the attorneys, by the way, say they are getting no where near that much. the alleged victim first made the allegation back

never charged. as part ofhe deal winston is agreeing to sexual assault programs and greater transparency. the state attorney general appointing a prprecutor and fbi chief to lead this team. they will determine if state laws were broken leading up to the crisis. meanwhile hollywood stars are helping, donating one million water bottles together. cher teamed up with another company and donated 181,000 water bottles. late night host jimim fallon also donateed thousands of dollars. inmates considered dangerous and it continues in southern california. inmates broke out of a county jail on sunday. they are cutting through steel bars and going through plumbing tubes. the shadowie figures can be seen right here on surveillance video and they think that's at least one of the men escaping. authorities think all

're already seeing 70 degrees in ft. lauderdale as wells quest all thanks to a shift in the wind direction. wind speeds anywhere between six and 13 miles per hour. currently our coolest spot is kendall, 62 degrees. 67 in pembroke pines. 68 in hialeah. much warmer conditions this morning and that will continue throughout the afternoon. now this morning we don't have any wind gusts reported but we are expecting the winds to strengthen throughout the afternoon so o have a high risk of rip currents for you beach-goers and boaters. 15 to 20 degrees warmer than what w w woke up to yesterday. we are seeing midand high level clouds in place. we are dry from lake okeechobee all the way down to key west. here's the setup. today we have high

located over the western atlantic. that will draw in our wind off the ocean keeping us warm, keeping us humid. it's feeding into the next cold front going into south florida. currently the rain associated with this system is soaking texas up towards the tennessee valleyey check out the temperatures behind the front, i ithe 20s and 30s, still feeling the chill across much of the nation. for us here in south florida, we will enjoy a beautiful day, albeit much warmer. we'll have the breeze move in off the ocean so it will be humid. going into tomorrow here comes the leading edge of the front. then an area of low pressure is going to develop in the gulf of mexico increasing our rain chances goingnto thursday. i think thursday will be the wettest day of the workweek. that will be the day we could see damaging nds, the potential for tornadoes and heavy rain at times. the severe weather threat is marginal but still a possibility. i'll be here don't worry

i approaching the glades, lose like we've got a little stop and go traffic in that location. traveling just a little further down south, some more slowdowns right off of u.s.-1. a semi skids off the ro, hits an ohio police officer. the whole crash caught onthis officer cruiser's dash cam. a tractor trailer pulled up to a train trackright before that arm came down. all of a sudden, before you know it,he train hits the truck which then runs over that officer. see it happening right there. oh, myoodness. he did manage to get away with just a few stitches, scratches and a broken arm. that video incredible. unbelievable. minor injuries he's dealing with this morning. and a road rage dual between tww men caught on camera in texas. one man pulls out a bat and approaches another driver's truck. that guy is seen pulling
