have reports of some road debris on the airport express west-bound at u.s.-27, okeechobee road. no delays with this one but we're hearing there's a construction cone out there thatt could slow you down. those speeds at 1 miles per hour. we do have construction& crews especially on the i, talking about i-95 northbound it looks like this is near north miami where we're seeing those slowdowns this morning. obviously the red indicates a slowdown. we had reports of about three lanes of traffic blocked. hopefully they a a going to be opening them back up. speeds 12 to 13 miles per hour. i was scared jus to jump out of the car. >> new ts morning a d.w.i. crash arrest. the accused driver spoke before he was taken into custody. he allegedly caused a multi-car crash with a police officer in mime. that's where we find sanela sabovic live with what else the driver

to openly. >>reporter: good morning, jacey and eric. yeah, that drir did speak to local 10. he was visibly nervous. he said he was upset. he says he doesn't remember too much of his crash scene. you're looking at 33-year-old david marini. police say he caused a six car pileup along southwest eighth street and 32nd avenue tuesday night. they say he was headed stbound on southwest eighth street when he lost control of his car, swerving into oncoming traffic, slamming into veral cars including a miami-dade police cruiser. marini says that his brakes malfufutioned. >> it wouldn't work. i had to push it all the way down to work and right here it@wouldn't work. >>reporter: you could see remnants of that crash right there along southwest eighth street. now only one drive and the officer were taken to the hospital. that officer sustained

and hand. as far as marini is concerned, he's facing a d.w.i. charge. sanela sabovic, local 10 news. this morning the miami gardens police officer shot last week is out of the hospital and we were there as he was released from aventura hospital yesterday. he was ambushed while writing up a crash report. a man inside that s.u.v. started firing shots. this happened near northwest 1883rd street and seventh avenue. he is facing charges including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. new this morning the miami police union's president is apologizing to a judge after saying he was angry that the man accused of stabbing a police officer at magic city casino was given bond. jose lopez is charged attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and was granted20,000 bond after last week's attack. t union president

agent's pod was moved to wood lawn park south. that agent died on sunday. he and another ice agent reportedly hit while trying to flag down a cab.the 21-year-old arrested after police say she struck those agents and then drove off. now that that agent has died, she will likely be facing more serious arges. caught on camera, police want you to take a look at the man who walked into the 7-11 on eighth street on sunday. he handed a note to the clerk saying he wasas armed and demanded money. he was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, sweat pants and sunglasses. there's a search for a bank robber struck in miramar. he robbed the chase bank branch along palm avenue and miramar parkway on tuesday morning. the man last seen wearing this brown sweater, khaki pants and a brown babee cap. a different robber got away in a white car.

the teller's window saying he had a bomb.that man wearing a large straw landscaping hat. if you have any information on him, call police. anotheheround of changes expected to make travel and trade with cuba eier will go into effect today. under these new regulations, cuba will no longer be required to pay with imports of cash. changes were made in air travel as well allowing for airline co-sharing and the opportunity for leasing deals with cuban airlines. another regulation clears away for americans to travel to cuba for business, art tick or humanitarian reasons asell as athletic competitions. critics say the big winner in this is the castro government. preparations under way for the pope's five day tour to mexico.

28 degrees. we are going to see the convergence of a lot of moisture over south orida due to the instability in the atmosphere. a front just to the northnd an area of low pressure developing just to the west. satellite and radar composite showing cloudy skies if those clouds precipitation falling, moderate to heavy rain over boca raton, over u.s.-1, i-95, the turnpike, sawgrass expressway. the worst of the weather still just west of 75 and that's going to head towards the northeast. so alligator alley right over weston and in towards miramar could deal with showers and storms. a line of showers developing over the eastern parts of mexico. so all of these showers and storms will target parts of south florida. the timing is on and off. not everybody will deal with the rain at one time so keep that in mind. this area of low pressure will continue to ride along the cold front. in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere

right at griffin. agai this is all part of a long-term construction plan so no@ major surprise there. if you live off of i-75 use caution if you're out early this morning. we're still accident-free in both counties. we're now seeing delays west-bound at the airport expressway at u.s.-27. that's where we have reports of some construction cones there just blocking the roadway. use caution. finally i want to show you where we have reports of slowdowns. it does look like it's right by the turn pike. you can see that rai coming in. that's not looking good. right at the turnpike where it meets at the dolphin expressway, it looks like we're having issues just north of that location. quickly checking our travel speeds this morning, if you are traveling north o o the turnpike just past the dolphin you're going tl see speeds clocking in at 15 miles per hour. florida fish and wildlife says their latest python challenge has netted 61 snakes but they certainly want more huntnts to get involved

storms headed our way. one thing that's going to keep you safe from the rain is the rain gear. yoyo need it already over portions of coral spring, sawgrass expressway over 441, the turnpike. light to moderate rain stretching into hollywood, aventura. but you can see down by the keys the only shower we're seeing is right over key west. here's the setup. we are expecting these showers and storms to move in from the northeast tohe southwest all ahead of e cold front. we have moisture at the surface and plenty of moisture in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere. that's going to keep us saturated today. stormy at times, breezy conditions. we'll continue this forecast going into tomorrow until this front clears south florida which won't happen until friday morning.
