but i do think the rain is coming for you tonight, so the forecast shows that scattered rain around 8:00, 10:00 there could still be some wet areas out there, and look at the doppler radar. it is still a aglow from the upper keys where the rain and storms are lifting up into miami-dade county where we're now starting to see the rain, heavy at that around homestead, the red land alberta with kendall, that tracking in your direction, and also look at all the arena into miccosukee into portions west miami-dade. all of that moving toward the east-northeast so, miami, it's a sure bet you will get in on heavy rainfall tonight. meantime broward between coral springs, coconut creek, fort lauderdale, hollywood we're looking a lot better but we could still have a few more showows working in your direction heading in from the east. so here's the deal. we still have to push a frontal system through. that hasn't happened yet. so even over on the west side of the peninsula offshore of the gulf of mexico water we're tracking the f fnt and still a lot of rainfall eveve on that

so we've got to get this energy through here before we can finally clear things out, and that's not going to happen until friday. i know crew of been wondering, it seems like every other day we've been dealing with rain and storms.. what happened to our dry season? well, we pointed back to the fom phone called el nio, that unusually warm waters of the central and east-central pacific ocean near the equator. when we s s that phenomenon setting up that usually means we're going to have amore act of southern jet stream or tropical jet stream, and that openg the door for more storms to track across the southern tier of the united statete including florida. so the i am impact here for us, winter so many theyness, severe weather potential, could also set the stage fof tornado, and that is exactly what we've been seeing playing out today. through storm tomorrow still the possibility for heavy ran in the area. we cannot rule out a few storms, storms that may deliver a wind gust that causes damage or even a tornado.
6:24 pm
of what we saw today, but there is the potential for some strong storms tomorrow in addition to the heavy rain. so the front approaches, finally sweeps out by friday, such that by friday morning we start to dry out and we get cooler with lows in the low 60s. this may be some areas in the upper 50, highs in the lower 70. friday night chill in the air. saturdayore than waking up to 53 in miami. guys. >> calvin: shorts and umbrellas and then like sweaters, and really? the temperature is going up and down like that. it's like a roller coaster. >> laurie: but it's a lot nicer than the northeast right now. >> calvin: we know all too well. >> laurie: thanks for joining us. we'll look for you tonight at 11:00. >> calvin: you can always go to our website for more information on local10.com.
