with trump peeking out last night on fox news insisting he will not be there. and with the iowa caucuses now just three days away, the latest poll shows trump still enjoying a wide lead ahead of his two closestt challengers. abc's stephanie ramos is covering the campaign. >> reporter: >> it's called an eye for an eye i guess. >> donald trump taking his fight with fox news to fox ws. >> i agreed to do this show with you last week. i didn't cancel it. >> reporter: the gop front-runner could not be swayed to reconsider skipping out on the republican debate. >> i was not treated well by fox. i have zero respect for megyn kelly. >> at a rally in south carolina wednesday night, trump ignoring the debate and inste going after senator ted cruz. >> how does a guy run for the office of president when there's a very major possibility that he's not allowed to do it? >> cru saying trump's decision amounts to skipping out on a job interview with iowa voters.

militia standoff. ammon bundy issued a statement asking the governmen to allow the people to remain at the refuge to depart without being prosecuted, he's telling them to please stand down, go home and hug families. the fight he says is now in the courts. so please go home. jason patric is one of those still holding out hope. >> they told us that we could safely leave. well, the group that was leaving has a dead man in it. there's another man who left and was in arizona and he's in custody. they've said peace and resolution the whole time. it depends on what you believe. >> bundy along with six others have been arraigned in federal court. judge denied bail calling the group a flight risk and a danger to public safety. more arrests are expected in connection with that high profile prison escape in southern california. five people have been taken noose custodydy so far. it's been nearly a week since three men disappeared from a maximum security jail.

>> reporter: abc news the first inside the maximum security prison, learning of arrests in the investigation into the dangerous inmate escape in orange county. the arrests not of the suspects themselves. and are these people that the justice system is familiar with already? >> yes. >> reporter: here's the roof where authorities say they cut through barbed wire and rappelled down, using that rope made from bed sheets. court documents obtained by abc news shedding new light on the elaborate escape. >> but he obviously was calculating a way to get out of this jail, now that we've seen what has happened. >> reporter: authorities s they sawed through a door to the plumbing system. then fashioned a rope sling so they could pull themselves up into the ventilation tunnels. how it happened without being still unexplained. hossein nayeri's alleged crimes of attempted murder and torture well documented. jonathan teiu and bac duong accused of murder and tempted murder, both with strong gang ties. the sheriff telling me that when this jail was originally built 50 years ago, it housed mainly

the pilot had to make an emergency landing. abc's david kerley reports. >> reporter: with a flflht attendant collapsing in the aisle, then other crew members and passengers falling ill, the l.a.-bound americaairlines flight returned to london to flashing lights and emergency vehicles. members of the band race the horizon were on board. >> she just literally fainted. she just stumbled terally within touching distance of me. it was crazy. i've never witnessed anything like that. >> reporter: that's when the others started falling ill around theheand member. american airlines says two passengers complained, and london officials say four crew members were lightheaded. all were released. london fire crews checked inside the aircraft and all the luggage which was taken off the boeing triple 7. no hazardous substance was detected by the crews. so it is still a m mtery why those people became ill on the flight. david kerley, abc news, washington. >> a woman from colorado working

been pound dead in her apartment in vienna. the 25-year-old certifieded as lauren mann was found in a pool of blood. they are reportedly investigating her death as a posscble homicide. reports say her body was found in total darkness because all the lights in her apartment had burned out. in mexico, we get new video release bid authorities slowing drug kingpin joaquin "el chapo" guzman arriving at the maximum curity prison after recapture earlier this month. it shows him being finger printed and processed at the same prison from which he escaped last july and shows guzman after getting his head shaved being informed about the process for his extradition to the united states. >> interest rates will stay the same at least for now despite some economic slowdown with economic growth. however the federal reserve is pledging to keep a close eye on turbulence around the world and in the financial marks investors not too thrilled about the fed's

okay. so you're looking at surveillance video from philadelphia showing the moment that a van slapped into two vehicles and a house after both men in the vehicle had been shot. seconds later, video shows the two men who were shot fleeing the scece o o foot. both men did survive. one had been shot in the face. police have made an arrest in that shooting but they're looking for other suspects who may have been involved in that scene. baltimore expects to have completely dug out of a a of its streets by tomorrow. six days after that historic blizzard and things finally getting back to normal in newark, new jersey. kids back in school yesterday. but the clean-up not over yet while most roads are passable,, giants snow banks block many side streets. >> as the snow melts and more people dig out, we're uncovering some incredible stories from the big storm. >> including one woman with a chance at a life saving transplant but little window of time.

the latest puts sanders just four points ahead of clinton in iowa. which candidate will president obama back on e campaign trail, clinton has been playing the obama card, but off the trail, sders met privately with the man he's hoping to replace. >> the president and i discussed this morning a number of issues, foreign policy issues, domestic issues, occasionally a little bit of politics. >> the meeting comes just after the president seemed to tilt towards hillary clinton in an interview with politico but sanders dismissed ggestions that president obama was leaning towards his former secretary of state. >> what should have been a routine traffic stop along a busy atlanta area highway turned deadly. a georgia state trooper tried stopping a speeding pickup truck but the drivererook off triggering a ten-mile chase and a traffic backup. when the truck finally stopped, the driver stepped out and fired a handgun. the troopers fired back. the driver later died in surgery. onerooper was injured but is

>> reporter: the widow of a police officer who died in a staged suicide has been indicted by a grand jury. melody gliniewicz faces charges for helping her late husband siphon thousands of dollars from a charity. investigators say they used the money for a trip to hawaii and to dine at restaurants. her lawyer says gliniewicz was a victim of her husband's secret actions. >> well, a candlelight vigil has been held last night in oregon for a militia member killed by authorities. amman bundy along with six others had been denied bond after an appearance in federal court. he issued a statement urging the remaining members still at the wildlife refuge to go home. at least three more arrests were made overnight. more arrests are expected in connectioning with that high profile prison escape in southern california. five people have been taken into custody so far. it's been nearly a week now since the three men disappeared from a maximum security jail.

procedures because it took so long to discover the men were missing. public health investigators now say about 200 children have clevated levels of lead in their blood, a new development from the water crisis in flint, michigan. the lead levels in the city's water supply have been trending better but it's still too soon to give the go-ahead for residents to resume drinking unfiltered water. much of south florida will be cleaning up today after tornados tore through the area. the impact was so intense, authorities are saying it's a miracle that no one died. abc's phillip mena is on the scene. >> reporter: tornado warnings just after 9:00 a.m. >> why don't we get under the bridge, kyle? >reporter: kyle mcafee and his father in their truck, caught in the middle of it. >> we're in the e rnado. >> reporter: nowhere to go. taking refuge under this overpass. winds up to 100 miles an hour, tearing through the college campus nearby. >> there was, like, a tidal wave of clouds and water. >> reporter: this was the scene

a car dropped on top of another. this truck flipped on its side. roros shredded off buildings nearby. trees downed. >> i seen that tree just snap like it was a toothpick. i'm m ill shaken up, i mean, i didn't even know which way to go. >> reporter: back on that highway, this car lifted right up from the southbound lane, landing northbound. the driver still inside. >> that was t e one minor injury that we had. so, we're very fortunate. >> reporter: and you can see what the storm did to this gated community. trees ripped out of the ground, the roof blown off and families here are bracing for more. phillip mena, abcbcnews, coconut creek, florida. >> okay, so watch out for storm warnings again todayed from fort myers to west palm beach with up to three inches of rain. dangerous winds and downpours in the pacific northwest. snow around the great lakes, milder in the northeast. >> 70s in los angeles and miami. 50s in atlanta. denver and seattle. 40s in kansas ci and boston. 30s in chicago and minneapolis.
