america this morning. this morning the cleanup continues. also a missing teen mystery. a 16-year-old is missing for more than month. and his father, arrested while trying to hop an international flight. out of cononol. a car slamming into an intersection, crashing to the police. all caught on camera. good morning, south florida. i'm eric yutzy. >> i'm jacey birch. right now we are under a flood watch in broward county, just one day after that tornado. >> weather authority meteorologist julie durda here this morning with a check of how things are today. >> indeed my friends. it's going to be another busy day in the weather department. we're tracking a line of storms in the gulf of mexico. the ground is so saturated from all of the rain yesterday. over two and a half inches of rain was reported in parts of broward. over parts of bward and west palm beach under a flood watch until 7:00 tonight.

storms continue to develop from the gulf of mexico moving in from the southwest to the north east. currently we are seeing some rainfall in your neighborhood right over portions of broward. moderate to heavy rain over coral springs in towards deerfield beach, boca raton, i-95, 595, all soaked in towardsthe sawgrass expressway all soaked, as far down aaventura, hialeah in towards 441, 41, all dealing with these showers and storms. we're not out of the clear yet. we've got this cluster of shower and thunderstorm continue i need to continue to watch closely because this is exactly what occurred y yterday that continued to push towards the northeast and that's what broug us the severe weather threat over broward yeyterday and the tornado. our severe weather threat are are mains minimum but still a possibility. still stormy conditis as we good into the afternoon. highs will be in the mid 70s. it's going to be a

heavy rain and gusty winds. i'llll have more coming up >> debris is scattered all over a complex after thee efivment-1 tornado touched down in coconut creek. the building's roof damaged, cars tossed around. >> cars actually piled on to each other. when yesterday's tornado tore across broward, you saw it all on local 106r7b8g9s a path of damage. a path of damage. >>reporter: its power just unreal. residents watch mother nature work. winds were whipping 90 to00 miles per hour early on in the day. a confirmed ef-1 tornado touching down again and again. >> it we down, lifted,

what we call a very discrete path. >>reporter: that path not to discrete. that's a car being turned right on coconut creek and another car being tossed like matchbox tours. >> neighbor's basketball hoop came flying across the street and took out two windows. >> we went in the tub and covered ourselves and we just sat there singing and praising the lord. >>reporter: when clouds cleared up, we saw debris all over the ple, trees uprooted, a community bus tossed on its side. the driver here escaped with minor injuries. nobody else was in it but nearby apartments were also in shambles. residents still saying this could have been so much worse. and it has been raining pretty much non-stop since this tornado tore through.

power to several homes around broward college but crews we able to come back out and restore power fairly quickly. i'm andrew perez, local 10 news. well, that tornado surely rattled nerves at broward college's north campus y yterday. it forced students and faculty to run for cover. victor oquendo has more on that side of the story. >> i saw people running and i guess possibly flying because the wind took them. >>reporter: broward college's north campus was right in the path of yesterday's ef-1 tornado. >> one of my friends came into class and she got of hit. >>reporter: student werecared. >> it's terrifying. i see theind blow out of no where >>reporter: cars were tossed aroundike toys. >> crazy, all cars flying around. >>reporter: the library doors blew open at one point. papers and books were

crews had their work cut out for them. downed trees, even bleachers across campus. >> if you walk around campus for a bit, you'll still find downed branches, big ones like this one and downed trees as well. after the day students returned to their normal routine. >> i was like has going on. it was like storming outside. i didn't even realize there was a tornado. >> it's a good thing. we normally come to school a lot earlier. we got an alert saying there would be a tornado and not to come to class which was good. >>reporter: classes resumed wednesday afternoon at around 5:00 and today they are planning on a normal schedule. in coconut creek, i'm victor oquendo, local 10 news. there's a mystery surrounding a missing teen. carlos suarez explains a major twist after that

boarding a one-way flight out of the country this week. >> if your child's missing, you wououn't have a one-way ticket out of the country. >>reporter: fighting back t@ars kristin lake couldn't understand how a father in good conscience could board a plane out of the u.s. that's what c crews say he tried to do after he boarded a flight to new zealand in miami. he's accused of abandoning her child. he posted flyers of his missing son in the exclusive community in plantation. it's where augustie received tennis lessons. >> nice, very polite and a big quirky. >>reporterpolice say he never

the@ two got into an argument and aauggie was kicked out of his car. >> we don't know why he's acting the way that he's acting. >>reporter: at the teen's home we found a sheet of paper taped near the front door. it lists where auggie can find an extra key to the house and two numbers he can call. >> when i go out there, i either fly an adult in to sit with my son, even though he' 16, or i have someone locally do it. >> don't talk about the charges, sir. >>reporter: court documents show he did with drew his son from the school and did not request his transcript. police say auggie has run away in the past but as of right now they do not suspect foul play. carlos suarez,z, local 10

several cars are hit including a miami-dade police cruiser. take a closer look. you can see as one car clips another, it flips up on to its side and baels into oncoming traffic. it all happened at southwese eighth street and 32nd avenue. helaimed the brakes of his car had malfunctioned but the police officer suffered minor injuries. now more caught on camera. this happenedt an atm in pompano beach. bomb -- two suspects both just 17 years old were arrested right near the bank. a third suspect is still on the run. turning to vote 2015, less than one week left until the iowa caucuses. democratic candidate bernie sanders, he visited president obama in the wte house yesterday. the two men meeting in the oval office to discuss policy and campaign politics. sanders chief democratic

continuing her campaign in iowa, rallying support in a bowling alley just dayaybefore the first votes are passed. the fir quinnipiac poll over sanders. turning now to the g.o.p. side, the now very public rift between donald trump and fox news boiling over again. trump is holding his own event in iowa at the very same time. that move drawing criticism from ted cruz who issued a direct challenge to trump. >> if he's not willing to stand on the debate stage, i would like to invite him to a one on one debate between now and the iowa caucuses. >> you can bet our political team will be covering it allor us. michael putney will have the debate analysis and glenna millberg is covering donald trump's event.

of aventura in towards hollywood. these showers will continue to move in off the upper level winds moving in from the gulf of mexico. this is all due to an area of low pressure. we still have to wait for this cold front to slide through south florida. until then we are going stay unsettled, a good chance of showers and storms.& possibly some of these storms becoming severe. i'm watching the line of storms from the gulf of mexico that will head towards the northeast. so we'll watch the system as it continues to slide towards the south increasing our rain chances hour by hour throughout the day. strong storms possible especially going into the afternoon. highs today will only reach the upper 70s but it's the wind direction, the heat, humidity and storms that could trigger the possibility of severe storms going into the later half of the morning and afternoon. once this front is clear, we will have high pressure building from the north providing for a dry, stable atmosphere going into the weekend.

look at that cute face. an exotic animal made its way into an elderly woman's bed. >> now we know her name, banana, of course, and banana is back home where she belongs. erica rakow is there for the reunion. >>reporter: listen to this. this is the sound of a kinkajou. it's what a 99-year-old woman woke up to the other night with it sleeping on her chest. >> you can seehe's pretty comfortable with me. >>reporter: for ten days though now shwas missing. >> i was painting my house and i had to move into my brother's house and put her in a temporary cage and she figured out how to get out, she has really good

>>reporter: kinkajou are nocturnal. she don't like their sleeping to be disrupted, although she did interrupt this elderly woman's sleep. >> she's sound asleep. she' 99 years old and she felt something like this going to her face, so she's been widowed for a while so hey. she looks down and this little creature is on her chest.she has no idea what it is. >> if the old lady had grabbed the kinkajou and the kinkajou had bitten her, it could have been a serious injury. >>reporter: no injuries, just screams, sending banana sprinting into the attic. >> we set a ladder up into the attic opening and left it there. >>reporter: kathy brought banana to dr. don harris. >> she came in. she was tired, cold, hungry, traumatized, and all she really wanted to do was curl up in a ball

police say to armed men wearing masks camee in and started robbing victims before two of those victims shot back. they killed one of the suspects. the membersp who shot back both had concealed weapons permits. the second suspect was able to get away. a building in the heart of new orleans erted in flames early yesterday morning. police say that 25-year-old set a fire inside the building to keep warm but it quickly spread. we're told the building wassmpty at the time. no injuries reported. the leaders of a protest group is asking the protestors to go home. hammond bundy and six protestors arrested after a shoot-out that left o o protestor dead. after a dispute with the fededel government over land rights but after being arrested bundy sued a statement through his attorney asking the remaining protestors to leave the refuge. >> to those remaining at the refuge, i love you,
