that is coming during our 6:00 a.m. hour. julie doing what she does best looking at the forecast. >> we have an hour anana half and we'll be talking about it for the next three months, four months that is actually. as we take a live look outside, i'm happy to te you we're waking up to dry conditions. the winds out of the east southeast though anywhere between seven and 14 miles per hour. temperatures are in the low 70s, about 13 degrees above where we should be. 74 ft. lauderdrde, 73 miami, 76 in key west. here's the bus stop forecast. as the kids head to the bus stop they are going to need their sunglasses. above-averag temperatures will continue. 74 degrees as you're dropping them off. expecting high to see reach the low to mid 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. with that breeze in place, we can't rule out a chance of a shower but the concentrated shower and thunderstorm

to the north of us, all associated with a cold front that moves into south florida. again, most of the heavy rain, gusty wind will stay to the normal of us today but by tonight we'll increase the chance of showers and tomorrow morning we could see some damp roads for the morning commute. i'll have a lot more on that coming up. good morning, constance? >> good morning, julie. is it a girl? is it a boy? is it both? i don't know. let's get to these accidents, if you're traveling northbound at the palmetto expressway, there's reports of a crash. northbound lanes right over here. deny mean it's not there. just not on camera angle. all right. some other things to get to, reports of some police activity, this happening on the i, at i-95 and miami gardens drive affecting our southbound lanes. we're not hearing this is an accident scene, just police activity. maybe someone's being pulled over ror a ticket. i don't know. those speeds at 60 to 61 miles per hour.

get to. this is aatal crash, a pretty serious one. east bound and west-bound lanes at kendall drive were shut downt 117th avenue. at this point i'm not seeingny delays. since this is a fatal crash, we do expect police to be on the scene all morning long. those speeds at 35 miles per hour. breaking overnight, a car smashing through a home, rescue crews on the keep. the iact pushed two people sleeping in a bed into another room. >> we're learning the driver responsible is on e run this morning. local 10 news reporter ben kennedy is live on the scene with other victims. what neighborsrs heard when this all happened. >>rerter: it was an extremely close call for the family when the car came crashing in. there's an orange sticker on the front door saying this home is just not safe. the driver did not stick around to see ifhey were all right.

of three did get hurt after a black honda sedada crashed into this home off of 16th street and 33rd avenue in lauderhill. it's there a couple was asleep in their bedroom when the car came barreling in. a man, his wife and daughter were rushed to the hospital with minor injuries. neighborsre just surprised that they were able to walk away after seeing the damage. >> i just thought it was crazy because i never heard the brakes or anything on the car before the impact. i just heard the impact, and the impact was so great to where it reallyscared me. i thought it was somebody dead and a lot of mangling noise. >porter: you can see this home will now need some big time repairs. police did search that neighborhood for the drier but they could not find him. officers also ranhat plate hoping it will help them lead to an arrest.

lauderhill, ben kennedy, local 10 news. a scooter ride turning terrifying for a six-year-old boy in miami. this morning the little y still in the hospital after a police cruiser struck him. sanela sabovic live this morning at jackson memorial hospital. sanela, how is this boy doing this morning? >>reporter: good morning, eric. that boy we're told is in stable condition this morning. he suffered a couple broken bones but he is expected to be oy. you see antoine was riding his scooter there late wednesday afternoon when he was hit by a ami police officer's patrol car. the child's family insists the boy was on the street clearly visible for the officer to see. traffic homicide investigators worked through the night wednesday trying to figure out exactly what happened and to check if speed was a factor which the family says was the case. >> he was on his scooter, riding his scooter between two trucks and obviously a

those trucks so it's difficult to see him if he darts out in the street. >> they were out there with the kids and he was riding his bike and how can you calm down from one block all the way to the middle of the block and not see him in t t middle of the street. >>reporter: now we're told that officer was not on an emergency call. he apparently did not have his lights flashing. he was helping another officer with paperwork at the time of the accident. right now no charges have been filed but that could change pending the results of an investigation. sanela sabovic, local 10 news. we have breaking news this morning coming out of kendall. >> a deadly crash not far from the turn pike and southwest 117th avenue. we do have erica rakow on the scene. what happened here? >>reporter: it was 1:30 this morning. it was a box truck and an orange charger. one person did die. his passenger was rushed

the trooper says inis words very critical condition. the driver of the box truck also taken to the kendall regional medical center this morning but is expected to be just fine. according to these troopers i just spoke to moment ago the truck was lling out of a nearby parking lot making a right-hand turn on to kendall drive. we're just near southwest 117th avenue road, that orange dodge charger they told me was speeding down kendall drive, h the box truck, lost control, flipped, it caught fire. i just spoke with an employee here at the shell station, all of this happening in front of his gas station. he heard a loud bang, screeching of tires, saw the dodge charger goingdown the road on fire. he says a bunch of people ran out to help. they grabbed his fireextinguisher, pulled the woman out of the car, did what they could. the medical examiner here right now. unfortunately, the

blocked by this trooper and the medical examiner, very beat up, both vehicles. the west-bound lanes of kendall drive here at 117th still shut down. eastbound traffic just fine but this should be cleared up in just a little while. erica rakow, local 10 news. a man accused of peeping into windows in pembroke pines remains behind bars this morning even thohoh the judge did grant him bond. the bond is $808000 but he has to hand over his passport in order t/ g g out. he's facing charges including burglary and aggravated stalking. florida legislators& continue to debate a potential law that would

murder investigation continues this morning days after a man was found dead in his tamarac home. police have not confirmed how luke wilson, jr. died on tuesday night but he was killed.

screaming was herd from the home on tuesday night. a reward of up to $3,000 being offered for anything that leads to an arrest. for the first time we're hearing from a man who tracked down two escaped prisoners in california. >> matthew chapman was about to get coffee when he noticed the white van. he says he reads the newspaper every day and recognized one of those fugitives in it. i'm like this, body language. that's the guy. >> he bolts. officer on foot bolts after him. another officer comes over in his cruiser. i said that way. >> he got him, man. after a chase the fugitives were caught. for helping nab the escapees he could end up with a reward of over $100,000. your weather forecast on this friday eve.

almost the workweek. i hope we enjoyed the last few days. granteddarm but lots of sunshine, perfect to be outdoors.that's all going to change by tonight and tomorrow morning. this morning we have temperatures 13 degrees above where we should be in miami, 73. 74 ft. lauderdale, 76 key west. a muggy 73 in pembroke pines. 71 in kendall and 75 in marathon. so let me put this into perspective, we have a cold front moving into south florida by tonight and tomorrow. tomorrow at this time we could be looking at wet roadways to start your friday. our highs will be reaching only the lower& 70s. how it feels with our temperatures is what our tomorrow. granted it will be more refreshing as we'll have a north wind unlike this morning with a south east wind. with that east southeast brze it will continue to warm us up today. highs will be reaching the low to mid 80s. we have mto high-level

mexico but those clouds will not be producing precipitation. just because the front getting closer and closer to us. all the way up the east coast right over the carolinas associated with this cold front. eventually this will push towards the south. we'll stay ahead of it throughout the day. that's why we're expecting warm, humid and mostlyry conditions. right now 33 degrees in memphis. we've got 18 degrees in kansas city, 44 in atlanta. before today another warm one above average temperature. we will see that chance of showers starting to creep into our forecast as early as tonight and tomorrow morning. i timed it out for you. right around midnight we could see showers along parts of ft. lauderdale and moving into miami by tomorrow morning. we'll have a north breeze in place providing for cooler, drier, comfortable weather for saturday and yet another front will be moving in by sunday and that's going to drop our temperature.

drive if you're in a hurry this morning. terrifng moments when a car hits a mother and her two children. surveillance video shows the moment the car slammed into a 30-year-old mother. police say the driver ran a red light. they say the toddler was still strapped to the moer but the young girl was tossed feet away. >> i know what was happening but then i see e lady laying on the ground and the little girl over there and people around her. >> the mother is in critical but stable condition. she's being treated for head injuries. the young girl has a broken femur. police he not yet found that driver. >> the f.a.a. now investigating what forced donald trump's do up nashville. the pilot says the wing 757 jet was having engine problems. trump was two hours late

seven and 14 miles per hour. yesterday we had winds 10 to 15, even 20 miles per hour. it will be warm and muggy throughout the morning. kids are just needing their sunglasses heading to the bus stop. maybe a little water. only a slight chance of a shower due to a cold front moving into the northern portions of flax. this morning we have dry conditions. all the shower and thunderstorm activity well to the north with the leading edge of this front. this is the front that brought all the severe weather across the nation's midsection. it has weakened emendously as it has moved into northern florida. we will see some storms starting as early as tonight. i'll volume more details on that coming up. >> thanks so much. palmetto expressway we have reports of a trash here this morning. here's a live look at 3rd street. not seeing the accident here it's at 154th street but it's really early.it's 5:30 in the morning

delays with this one. quite a surprise, especially on the palmetto. 55 miles per hour. 73 miles per hour. obviously that little accident not affecting traffic. that's not the case out here west-bound at kendall drive. this is where erica kow is live this morning. you see that purple, that shows us that those lanes are completely shut down west-bound atsouthwest 117th avenue. we know police are going to be out there investigating so if you typically take kendall drive west-bound to get to the turnpike, you may want to headp north and take sunset drive instead. we're staying on top of breaking news right now. it's coming out of kendall this morning. a deadly crash not far from the turnpike. erica rakow live on the scene with what we need to know about this fatal crash. >> just moments ago they towed away the two vehicles tied up in the crash. that's where this crash happened about 1 10 this

that we shot just aew minutes ago of those cars involved. we're told it was a white box truck pulling out of the parking lot making a right-hand turn on to kendall drive whe according to troopers an orange dodge charger was speeding down, heading west-bound on kendall drive, hit the box truck, lost control, flped and caught fire. one person in that car, the driver, a male, was pronounced dead on scene. his passenger, a woman, pulled out by witnesses, rushed to kendall regional medical center where she is in very critical conditionaccording to troopers and to people were in that white box truck. they were also taken to the hospital but they are expected to be okay. >> i called 911 real quick. other people came running, yelling get the girl out, get the girl out. they grabbed the extinguisher, got the girl out, laid her on the floor. by the time they did

be okay. he suffered a couple broken bones in this accident. >> that's my little grandson. he's stable and we're praying for him and he's going to come out good. >>reporter: a scooter ride nearly turns deadly for a siyear-old boy. antione lawson was hit by a police cruiser late wednesday afternoon. >> he was on his scooter, riding his scooter between two trucks and obviously a child is shorter than those trucks so it's difficult toee him if he darts out into the street. >>reporter: the child's family insists otherwise. they say the boy was riding the scooter on the street and the officer was speeding. >> he was speeding in the neighborhood where it's a lot of kids riding bikes. >> they were out there with the kids and he was riding h h bike and how can you come down from one bck all the way to the middle of the block and not see him in the middle of the street. >>reporter: traffic homicide vestigators worked through the night trying to determine if speed was a factor in this

>> we have traffic investigators on the scene and they are looking at things like drag factor and the computer in the car to see if there was speed but at this point it doesn't appear speed was a factor. >>reporter: now that officer involved inhe accident was not on an emergency call.l. right now no charges have been filed but that all could change once this investigation is complete. reporting live in miami, sanela sabovic, local 10 news. the resentencing hearing continues today for michael hernandez. that's the man convicted of killing his best friend in a middle school bathroom 12 years ago. hernandez is now 26 years owed and he first received a mandatory life sentence but that was revoked in 20101 after the u.s. supreme court agreeduveniles could not be sentenced to life without parole. >> it doesd't concern you that your son is

emergency in four counties. at least nine cases of zika has been confirmed in lee, santa rosa. an outbreak in south florida is not impossible. >> the conditionss in south florida are probably ripe to at some point will probably have zika here, not just imported but from here. >> the governor saying although quote florida's nine zika cases were travel related we really have to make sure florida is prepared and stay ahead of the zika virus. colorado police investigating whether a surgical technhnian possibly exposed people to hepatitis b or hepatitis carbon monoxide. so far there's no evidence of patient exposure.

alcohol believed to be from the car. during the wreck police say she had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and failed her sobriety test. 72-year-old joseph is expected to make a full recovery. a group of teens they say went on a cme spree. their crime stealing bin ladenens. the four teens were questioned last night before walking out of the hialeah police department. you're looking at two of the accused thieves, eric cook and jose rodriguez. those two alolo with a 14-year-old and 15-year-old are all accused and charged with breaking into the yards of private homes and making off with pidgeons pele keep as pets. in tote they are accused of stealing 3 birds and trying to sell them to pet stores. all of the bird will now be returned back to their owners. find out how this car ended up on the roof

a teen accused of a carjacking and arrest after being arrested. he's now facing several charges including grand theft. johnson and two other suspects ambushed the two victims at an abandoned home at southwest 254th street. one of the victim was shot before the crooks stole thee car. the two victims are okay about you the two o oer men are on the run. a car drove off the ro before slamming into another car flying on to the roof. both the car a home's roof, as you can see, had serious damage. police say the driver had a medical condition, suffered minor injuries. no one else was hurt. we're not expecting any severe weather threat today or even into tonight as we aregoing to see a cold front move into south florida but it's going to bring some big changes to the forecast. hold on tight.
