victim severely injured. the bond that the state is asking is extremely reasonable based on the circumstances here. if anything, i personally would have set a higher bond. >> reporter: medina was allegedly partying new year's eve until the wee hours of the morning on key biscayne with matthewaldana and danicla benavides san miguel. at one point, he took his two friends for a joyride and crashed. danicla benavides san miguel tied at the scene. he was originally placed on house arrest. >nder that set of circumstances, any prosecutor's office is going to direct file a 17-year-old. >> you are innocent until proven guty this it country. >> reporter: me dean non's attorney addressed the media asp me dean non's mother left without saying a word. >> he has shown tre tremendous remorse.

today. and todd was there for this special moment. he joins us live froro miami. >> reporter: certainly great too see the officer up and about. boy, did he get the star treatment here at the elementary school. he was signing autographs, getting hugs and taking pictures with these young women who after he was shot et wrote him get-well cards. this is the first time we've seen officer starling walk since he was ambushed by a gunman and shoot last month. he surprised a group of second through fifth graders enrolled in the pru program at arcola lakes elementary thanking them for the get well cards. >> this is what makes ay job all that we do -- this is what makes it important. >> reporter: he was shot while sitting in his patrol car writing a report. police say 24-year-old david

high pressure. we'll turn over to north northeasterly winds thursday and that breeze is gonna pick up. so beeady for breezy conditions at the beaches. >> the rip current risk will b elevated as well. temperatures, not too tough to take. near average. seasonable, upper 50s in the morning. highs climbing toward the upper 70s. we're forecasting a high of 77 for miaii, winds north-northeast, 10 to 15 miles an hour and getting stronger later in the day. by friday we'll call t windy, starting the day in the lower 60s. highs in the mid-70s. the rain chance staying really low, 10% between friday, saturday, sunday and it looks like we're good through the weekend. by next week we'll track the next weather system that may bring some stormy weather our way by the middlof the week.
