uber driveve allegedly who continued to take fares in between the aarent random shootings. >> jason dalton will be arraign this had morng on murder charges. right now investigators are looking for a motive with more here's abc's elizabeth hur. amazing grace >> reporter: a community in mourning offering prayers not only for the victims, but also the alleged gunman now in jail. >> very relieved that we have someone in custody. >> shots fired. we have one confirmed victim right now. >> reporter: the spree started just after 5:40 saturday eveving, the first a parking lot where a woman walking to her car was shot several times. the second, four hours later at a car dealership. a father and son were killed here. the third minutes later outside a cracker barrel restaurant where four people were killed in their cars including 60-year-old mary joe nye, a retired teacher.

that there was more than one person involved in any of these incidents.s. >> reporter: the suspect jason dalton an uber driver was taken into custody hours after the final shooting. matt mullen says he was one of his customers saturday afternoon. the ride so frightening he called 911. we were kind of driving through medians, through the lawn, speeding along. nally once he came to a stop, i jumped out and ran away. >> in statement uber says our hear and prayers are with the families of the victims of this devastating crime. it's arime not just heart breaking but baffling for police and dalton's neighbors. >> very unexpected. he was a quiet guy. stuck to himself. ps have never been out to his house before. >> reporter: uber says the 45-year-old suspect passed their background check. police confirm he has no criminal history. motive remains under investigation. kendis and reena. >> our thanks to elizabeth

what a horrible story out of michigan. there's another tragedy out of the state of michigan. this onene an apparent accident. six family members died in the town of fenton of suspected carbon monoxide p psoning. the sheriff there says a generator is believed to have caused the toxic fumes running in the basement because of a power outage friday night. they were found in their bedrooms by a concerned grandfather. >> just talking to the undersheriff who was in the house andaw all of the bodies and the different rooms and no matter how long, no matter how many investigations you conduct, seeing young children and an entire family wiped out is just a develop very sad thing. fenton located just northwest of detroit. among the victims four children ranging in age from 2 to 9 years old. a very close call for a new home sales man in suburban oklahoma city. he smefled gas at ts model

weekend. this is in british columbia. the fatality was a snowmobiler. another man is in critical condition after sunday's avalanche. both accidents happenedd near golden, british columbia. that's in the west of the province. about 150 miles west of calgary. the avalanche canada service has warned of unstable conditions over there. it's notust the snow that can be a danger while you're slushing down on the slopes. get up to the top as it risks that you take. >> there are many. and we had those twos recent chair lift accidents that are raising red flags with many skiers everywhere. here's abc's clayton sandell. >> reporter: for more than six minutes, this 11-year-old boy dangles from a chair lift. with the safety bar up, he had dropped au ski pole and slid out trying to catch it. and then dramatic moment. volunteer rescuers holding out a tarp and urging him to let go.

her. >> no wife wants to go into a deposition or public forum and have to testify about her personal relationship with her husband. definitely not testify about his relationships with other women. . >> reporter: more than 50 women have come forward claiming cosby sexually assauaued, drugged, or raped them, claims he has consistently denied. through it all, camille cosby is standing by hip side. >> any comment, mr. cosby? >> reporter: only once making a public statement defending her husband, saying he is the man you thought you knew. mrs. cosby still has the right to claim marital privilege and not answer queueions about private conversations with her husband. linsey davis, abc news, new york. one vestigation is under way looking into what caused a packed megabus to burn on its way from chicago to minneapolis. a driver and 40 passengers were on board when the bus caught fire. everyone got off safely with no injuries.
