i miss him. >>reporter: through tears and withthassion king's family begged for justice for someone to step forward. the six-year-d first grader was simply playing outside his apartment saturday off northwest 10rd lane and northwest miami-dade. his family, area residents fr we have a crisis on our hands after dealing with shooting after shooting. many involving shooting just in the way. >> it was once a month, twice a month. now it's get to be twice a week. who is next? who are they going to do it to next? >> there's something broken in miami. >>reporter: miami superintendent alberto carvalho, along with grf counselors, king's own friends describing him as charismatic and curious. >> we used to play games together all the time. >>reporter: his relatives prepared to bury this child.

>>reporter: the drama unfolded at a home along northwest court ininoral springs. police say the family was worrieded about his state of mind and then when officers new york state on his door, it was clear he didn't want to talk. >> we knew he was armed. he had said he was armed. >>reporter: sky 10 was over the scene. officers said they opened fire after he waved at gun at a window. >> our officers continued to negotiate andt some point he went to a windownd brandished a firearm. >>reportfr: neighbors expressed disbelief saying nothing seemed amiss with him in recent days but his wife was recering in the hospital after suffering a stroke. >> like i told you, they are very sweet people.

the days leading up to his death filled with warning signs. on friday he broke about a possible suicide attempt on facebook eerily similar to monday's crash. quote, a started driving northhn i-95, drove the wrong way and crashed head-on into a crash and killed myself. >> i am devastated, i'm still shaking, still crying. >>reporter: on friday temple security called police. the rabbi saying congregation members have complained about him. another facebook post, saying a jew should always be welcome to pray. the rabbi says he was not permanently banned. recall -- earlier today and into the night family and friends coping with a devastate it go loss. the funeral is set for later today.

oquendo, local 10 news. well, a judge upholding a life sentence for michael hernandez convicted for killing his friend in middle school back in 2004. hernandez who is 26 years old first received a mandatory life sentence but the judge upheld that sentence calling it a relief. >> i had to ask myself, how is someone not sickened by a song about cutting someone's throat and watching them die. >> it took us like two years back and forth, back a forth. i thoughtthat there was going to be justice, so it is what it is. >> the n hearing was mandated after a supreme court ruling disallowed life sentences for juveniles but the judge ruled he has no reason to feel he has changed and feels he still poses a threat to society.

roommate she found on craigslist stabbed her. >>reporter: we're told at the seemed like a good roommate and a successful person, but two weeks after 23-year-old danielle jones reportedly found byron mitchell on craigslist to live with her in a miami apartment, cops say he lashed out, slashing her and beating hero badly valentine's day she went into a coma. >> i can't comprehend how it's possible that somebody can be so cruel and do such a thing to somebody and try to kill them. >> hi, princess. >>reporter: while jones iss still at jackson memorial hospital we're now learning more about 35-year-old mitchell. >> he said that he was in the health care industry. >> this realtor says he met him at a miami network it go event. mitchell said he sold supplements. >> he wasn't all there, and the way he would look at you was a little creepy.

the front in the 60s. behind it into the 20s and 30s. the clash allow for the isolated areas to deaea with severe thunderstorms, damaging windnd and tornadoesanywhere from texas, louisiana, mississippi all the way in towards the panhandle today. this system will be headed our way. this is one of our dels, one of our several models we're watching showing us partly cloudy skies going into the morning commute. an isolated shower can't be ruled out because of that south, southeast breeze by this afternoon. then we'll start to clear out by this evening. by tomorrow we'll have the clouds build in again. most likely the evening hours is of we're going to see these showers and storms strong at times moving into south florida. then we'll see clear, dry conditions going into your friday and the weekend. highs will be in the lower 80s a few degrees above where we should be this time of year. as the front moves in, showers will stick
