in the range, low 70s first thing in the morning. >> come friday you're going to be complaining because temperatures will be in the 50s. that's right. hold on tight. a bit of a roller-coaster with our temperatures. we are ahead of it with high pressure in place providing for the breezy conditions we're feeling this morning and the warm air connection with a south southeastreeze making it ten degrees above where we should be with our temperatures. in miami 74 in ft. lauderdale. 70 in key west. right now the winds moving in anywhere between 10, 14 and even 12 miles per hour down by the keys. here's a look at the forecast this morning. miami-dade and broward we will wake up to partly cloudy skies. we'll continue to warm up into the low to mid 70s. where we're seeing the showers and storms have been down by the keys and we'll continue to keep the chance of showers in the forecast. we can't rule out a chance of a shower off that breeze. highs today will be in the lower 80s. our friends throughout

murdered in a drive-by shooting on sunday. the reward for information that leads to an arrest has been raised yet again. erica rakow going back to that scene this morning. she is at the police department in doral with the latest on the information. how much is the reward money now? >> it's up to $26,000 with the help of people in our community. it's those people who say this is the kind of investigation that should make anyone's blood boil. we're talking about a six-year-old boy shot d killed while playing outside his apartment on the streets of miami. people continue to come together to fight for justice for him. just look at this video. this is from last night. a huge crowd of people got together. they marched down the streets and gathered together at a park. people who lived king carter poured their hearts out. they won't stop until the three men they

erica rakow,ocal 10 news. miami police have released surveillance video of the car they believe truck a teenager you can see the teen running across the street. then he's struck by a silver mercedes driver. that sen the teen flying into the air. we're talking about javier valdez. witnesses say the driver had a green light but left the scene before police arrived. >> if they were to remain on the scene, they would not havee been at fault for the crash. they did not have the greeee light, right of way. once they leave the scene, it becomes more difficult for them as far as what punishment could de handed to them. police say valdez suffered head injuries in the crash and he was taken to jackson memorial hospital in critical condition. all happening in a home in critics. police say they were forced to fire at a

they say waved a gun near a window. family members were worried about his state of mind. they calle police. >> after a few hours of negotiatns, he started firing off rounds at our officers within the house. our officers continuing to negotiate and a some point he went to a window and brandished a firearm. >> he was taken to the hospital. he is expected to recover. he is facing severer charges including attempted murder of a law enforcement offffer. right now a 15-year-old boy is under arrest accused of killing his sister in the florida panhandle. police say h shot his younger sister, isabella. we warn you the details about this crime are disturbing. her brother initially told police he shot her on accident thinking she was a deer but he then changed his story twice. they say after shooting her, he put her in a

leaving her body in the field. he's's facing murder charges and could be tried as an adult. money station police say this man pulled a gun on a woman at a drive-thru. she deliberately tried to withdraw $800 knowing that's higher than her limit, her card would be declined. it bought her enough time, another customer drovep and scared him off. this pair who may be father and dghter walked right into the store. the man used a debit card that had been stolen from another state to buy a gift card and a rubber mat. if you think you know him, give police a call. the president plans to meet with dissidents during his upcpcing trip. human rights we main a a big issue for both

florida with our two new cases, one of those continue miami-dade county. making for a total of 28 vehicla patients in the state. all of the cases are zika are travel related. the uber driveraccused of going on a shooting rampage in kalamazoo, michigan killing six people before a judge o monday. it is believed that he was giving rides in between his alleged killings. uber confirmed several riders did complain about dalton on saturday night. the company says they did not suspend him immediately because of cases of erratic driving. they reached out to the driver first to get the driver's side of the story. according to police the six victims were dorothy, judy brown, barbara hawthorne,ary jo, mary lou. urs later dalton

your forecast coming up. you see that? those big waves caused a 12 mile stretch of highway to close in honolulu, hawaii. making driving conditions dangerous. officials say they are seeing the biggest swells that they've seen on the island in a decade and it's not just the highway that's seeing that damage, the large waves are also wrecking people's homes. a beachfront house damaged when the waves smashed through a protective barrier wall. thankfully the homeowner

in some showers mainly down the keys, miami-dade and broward. by the afternoon we can't rule out a chance of a shower. currently moderate to heavy rain right over saddle bunch key, big pine key as well as marathon. right now high pressure over the western atlantic drawing in our winds from the southeast. portions of the florida straits into the florida keys and it's feeding into this very large cold front. we have a series of cold fronts that are merging together due to an area of low pressure. another one right over mississippi and then the third one is right over texas, central portions of texas and that'ss bringing severe weather over portions of houston this morning. clash ofhe two air masses behind the front and ahead of the front will continue to bring the possibility of a severe weather threat today. check it out, anywhere from texas, louisiana, mississippi. the worst threat in the panhandle.

possible, damaging winds and tornadoes. now this system will be headed our way. we will see the tail-end of that cold front moving into florida. as it does so, if it stays as strong as it' expected to be, we could see strong storms going into our wednesd night. that's why we're increasing the rain chances to 40%. before we can see the storms the atmosphere will be so destabilized because temperatures are going to warm up to the mid to upper 80s. thursday morning those showers will be around. the front clears by thursday late morning into the afternoon. cooler, drier their will be in the forecast by friday and into next week. broward county we still have construction crews out on i-95 and griffin road. i'm still seeing some flashing lights. road rangers are out there to the distance. supposed to be done ound now, about 5:30. so it's not really affecting traffic though. you are seeing just a little bit of a slowdown here in our northbound lanes. that's i-95 in broward

thenly accident that we are watching for you is right off the snapper creek expressway west-bound on the approach to the don schula expressway. the story remains the same here. it's still early in the morning. we're seeing a lot of green on the map that shows the folks are traveling at posted eeds. i want to show you about some construction concerns for broward county drivers. they are worng on the railroad off of pembroke road. it's going to be hard to construction lasting until the 25th of this month. so instead take hallandale beach boulevard. two teen vandals are caught on camera causing thousands of d dlars in damage. the video shows the two spree. more than 70 cars were smashed causing about a quter of a million dollar in damages. the boys faced vandalism

hit a semi truck. he died at the scene. two others in the tractor trailer did not get hurt. rabbi mark at temple emanu-el in miami beach said he tried to talk t t parents for a year as he battled depression. he wrote i started driving north on 95 with plans to get on to the florida turnpik drive the wrong way and crash head-on into a truck and kill myself. but instead pulled over in tears. >> i am devastated, still shaking and crying. >> on saturday temple security called police on him. memberer have complained about him. loved ones griev at the family home as they now plan his funeral. as eric was talking about, the funeral is set for later today. troopers say they are aware of those facebook

investigation. reporting live on miami beach, ben kennedy, local 10 news. now to a judge upholding a life sentence for michael hernandez. he was convicted of killing his friend in middle school. hernandez is 26 years old. he first receivedd a mandatory life sentence. after the judge upheld his sentenc the family called it a relief. >> i had to ask myself how is someone not sickened by a song about cutting someone's throat and watching them die. >> it took us two years back and forth, back and forth. i'm a patient guy. i thought if you're going to be justice, so it is what it is. >> the new hearing was mandated after a supreme court ruling disallowing life sentences forjuveniles but the judge ruled he thinks he has no reason he to think h%

a pet owner in a nic after her two dogs fell into an icy lake in ohio. the two dogs were walking on a frozen lake in their backyard of they fell right through.

radar in the way of showers. second day in a row our friend in the keyes have been waking up to wet roadways from saddle bunch key, big pine key towards marathon. as we widen the view, we do two areas that we're watching, a cluster of thunderstorm activity. another cold front with an area of low pressure developing over texas. i spoke with you about this yesterday. now you can actually see it. some heavy rain, gusty wind soaking parts of texas. behind the system some very cold air allowing for snow to move into the higher elevations of new mexico and parts of northern texas. we have the clash of the two air masses. that provide for the severe weather threat across the gulf coast states today. check it out. we are expecting the possibility of some very strongng to severe storms, damaging winds and embedddd in those showers activity. we can't rule out the
