a wild weekend whihi involved the infant being kidnapped on iday night during a home invasion. the baby's aunt tells us the armed intruders were the victim'swn cousins. >> it hurt us very much because it's two people that are going to sit in jail for long time. at the end of the day, that's our blood. >>reporter: stephanie augustine is charged in connectioiowith the incident that set off a state-wide amber alert to track down the missing two month old gigi. augustine orchestrated the plan using her cousin t t break into the home and pointing a gun right at the infant' mother. >> i'm not sure why she reacted in such a crazy way, but i guess my other cousin probably was obsessed or something like that with my little cousin's baby.

an fhp trooper spotted the car. she was alone but apparently told cops where to find baby taraji outside of a home in orlando. a scare that makes this mother-daughter time even more precious. >> everybody was happy now. she's safe. she's healthy. >>reporter: so kidnapping and aggravated child abuse are just some of the charges that augustine is now facing. she's being held in jail without bond. that 14-year-old is in a juvenile detention center and both are expected to appear before a judge some time later today. by the way, we can also tell you that that babab has been checked out at the hospital and is okay. reporting from ft. lauderdale this morning, i'm terrell forney, local 10 news. a group of friends playing with a gun ends in one of their deaths. now his mother is speaking out onlyo

michael seiden has the latest. >>reportererhe's the latest teenager to lose his life, falling victim to goir. on sunday night family members came together as they prepared to bury their loved one, 14-year-old tavaris rose. the teen was killed saturday afternoon in miami gardens. tavaris was at his grandmother's home playing with two friends, both 14 years old, when one of the boys pulled out a loaded gun, accidentally firing off a shot hitting and killing little tavaris. >> we just got to as a community come together. >>reporter: miami gardens top cop also weighing in, tweeting out another life gone too soon. we must protect, guide, train and love our future. >> do you have any reason to believe that this 14-year-old was trying to hurt his friend? >> absolutely not. absolutely 100% not. >>reporter: in an exclusive interview with local 10, the accused shooter's mother

olson and other alleged victims. hey there, good monday morning, south florida. i hope you all enjoyedthe weekend. it was beautiful. temperatures warming up already. we're back io the 60s this morning. 64 degrees in miami. 66 in nt. lauderdale. 65 in key west. a northwest wind in place right now but eventually we will see that east breeze take place. that eventually will warm us up. the winds itself pretty light this morning. by the afternoon we will continue to see a lightbreeze which is going to make it feel pretty muggy by the afternoon. this will be the trend as we start the new workweek and theew month. right now we are temperatures anywhere between three and nine degrees warmer than what we woke up to yesterday. these clouds are not producing precipitation, i'm happy to tell you that. we should stay mostly dry thanks to high pressure pushing off the coast of the carolin, ahead of another warm front soaking parts of ohio in towards portion of the great lakes in

of new york and in towards the northeast. behind that we have another system pulling in from canada. we're goi to watch that as it slides to the south because that will effect our forecast going into the middle d end of the workweek. temperatures moderating to the 50s up and down the key west. behind the secondary front, the chill is in the air with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. temperatures will rebound to the upper 70s. we'll continue to have a persistent east breeze. with that east breeze we can't rule out a chance of a stray shower but our atmosphere is pretty dry. so we're not expecting wide-spread showers and storms in the forecast. tomorrow will be warmer ahead of the fronthat will fizzle out just north of florida. if you want to head to the beach, the uv index very high. only a slight risk of rip currents for youbeach-goers. the bays will be at a light chop with the winds moving in anywhere
