to head. good morning, south florida. i'm eric yutzy. >> i'm jacey birch. welcome to your monday.y. hope everybody had a great weekend. the weather was perfect. who do we thank for that, julie? obviously. >> get ready to go outside. it's going to be beautiful. >> theeather did cooperate with all the events. it was a bit breezy. the breeze maibd it so comfortable. our temperatures are above average by three degrees but i i doesn't feel like it. it's really nice. we have ray mild start as temperatures are in the 60s. they are going to need their sunglasses again today. a little more cloud cover is expected today unlike yesterday with that breeze moving off the ocean but we're not expecting precipitation to fall off of those clouds. highs will be in the upper 70s. currently we have the upper 60s ft. lauderdale, miami and key west. rk and early out there, the winds moving off the ocean between seven and 14 miles per hour.

kendall at 65 degrees. 70 for you unpembroke pines. i'll have a lot more on the forecast and what these winds are doing to our marine forecast coming up. we begin witit a 20 month old safe and sound. this boy was lost and taken, the amber alert canceled when the child was found more than 1,000 miles away and now police are saying it was his mom responsible for take him. >> and only local 10 ws has a critical clue. surveillance video showing the s.u.v. involved in the case being dpped off next to a park. the child and a mother were found in texas and both are on their way back to southlorida. >> local 10 news reporter terrell forney in miami with the details. >>reporter: on the top rest are of your screen u see the headlights of the car parked on the streets in this surveillance video. you see someone hop up with what appears to be a blanket before walking to the other side and grabbing something elsefrom the vehicle.

mazda cx-5. an amber alert following the abduction of this 20 month old boy from his caretakers in miami. detectives believe all along he was taken by his mother who previously had her parental rights revoked. in spanish rebecca rodriguez tells us she was awarded temporary customer by the court, a step grandmother of sorts and that the child's mom was only allowed to have contact with her son during supervrved visits. some time overnight she rannff with little logan sparking the amber alert. as the pair was stopped in laredo, texas 1500 miles away right on the u.s.-mexico boarden. have you talked to police at all? >>repoer: a man who identified himself as the cousin declined to answer any questions.

filled with toys and stuffed animals was left in tact prior tohe kidnapping, the pair apparently leaving in this silver colored mazda with front-end mage. we don't know who was seen on the video, driving the getaway car and eventually walking away carrying something in his hands, an image that appears to be a man. and that care caretaker is described as the mother of her current boyfriend. she is certainly relieved the two had beenound safe. she never thought the mom would cause any harm to her son. we do know she would be extradited back here to florida. the boy will be brought back to south florida at some point in the near future as well. i'm terrell forney, local 10 news. now to a developing story out of miami gardens. police are searching for

somebody and took off.. we're live at the hospital where the teenager is being treated. >>reporter: the bullets began flying just after 5:00 sunday night. this time a 16-year-old boy shot multiple times at this miami gardens home in the 2400 block of northwest 171st terrace. right now police searching for at least three shooters who fired their guns before fleeing in a truck. >> right now we're looking for a red pick-up truck which is involved with multiple subjects inside the vehicle. >>reporter: this latest act of violence comes one week after the shoing death of 14-year-old tavarar rhodes. the miami teen lost his life after polole say he and to friends were playing with a gun when it accidently went off, strikerring and killing rhodes. his iend is now charged in the death. the accused's mother speaking with local 10 in an exclusive interview.

that missing man has been identified as 46-year-old david moffman. he was on the tenth deck of the ship when he fell nearly 100 feet. the coast guard searched nearly 100 nautical miles before calling off the search. the boaters were using buckets to dump out the water but that was not enough so crews brought in a pump to brin the boat afloat until they brought it back to safety. an nfl player from the newly-formed los angeles rams arrested. 22-year-old trace mason plays for the rams but spends his offseason in florida. two tourists saw what was happening, started

south florida. we're have temperatures in the upper 60s. this is about four to five degrere above where we should be this time of year. thank goodness for the breeze. it makes it feel mild out there. 69 in ft. lauderdale. 67 key west with an east brbrze anywhere between seven and 14 miles per hour. enough to move our camera around from downtown miami. we have 70 in pompano beach. we're at 70 right now in marathon. our cooler spot is kendall with 65 degrees and 68 in marathon. with the winds moving off the ocean we are going to expect that high risk of rip currents to continue just like what we saw over the weekend. that wind direction will also provide for a bit more humidity and also a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast and any showers that do develop over the western atlantic, we can rule out the possibility of them moving onshore. we're not expecting wide-spread showers and storms in the forecast at all. all of that is occurring

midsection and over t the pacific northwest and west coast due to a series of fronts due to that strong el nino we've bee talking about here in south florida. soaking their area, now moving into the rockies and yet another system bringing flooding concerns up and down the west coast from southern california all t t way u` towards portland and even towards washington. the severe weather threat though will be right over the nation's midsection because the cold air clashing with the warm air. thth big concern over portions of texas and oklahoma but could stretch as far north as nebraska. look at these mperatures. we have the 60s with the heat and humidity from the gulf of mexico ahead of the front and temperatures behind the front in the 3 3 and 40s. that will be the possibility of severe weather threat today. all of this staying well away from us here in south florida. it is going to be another beautiful day as you head back to work and the kids head back to school. high pressure is going to be our fair weather
