welcome back. an update to a story we brought you earlier this week. the first uterus transplant in the u.s. has failed. doctors at the cleveland clinic were forced to remove the uterus after the 26-year-old patient known as lindsey developed complications. earlier this week she spoke how she prayed to god for a chance to be pregnant. yesterday she thanked her doctors saying they acted quickly to ensure her health and safety. >> we're glad she's okay. that's the b b thing. a number of people made sick by a bacterial outbreak in sconsin has grown to 48. investigators from the cdc have not been able to find the source of the blood infection that left 15 dead. a variety of potential sources have been tested including

sources, even food. most of those who have gotten sick were elderly patients with underlying health issues. >> when what looks like the flu could be a sign of something even more serious. >> like a heart attack. for one woman, recognizing the difference likely saved her life. abc's juju chang has the story. >> reporter: as a hard charging prosecutor, sue palmer has seen her share of tragedy but nothing could have prepared her for the near tragedy that almost took her life. >> i just kind of felt funny and i laid there for a minute and thought, well, that's weird. and d ter about a minute, i knew that i was going to be sick. >> assuming it was a 24-hour virus, she wanted to crawl back into bed. but her husband tim also an attorney objected. >> i thought, you know, this could be more and looked at the -- grabbed up my tablet and oked at it and googled heart attack symptoms in women. >> reporter: tim's father had died of a heart attack, and his

healthy nonsmoker who wasn't feeling any of the classic telltale signs of a cardiac event. >> he said i think we should go to the er. i said well why? >> tim wasn't ready to take the chance. he whisked her to the er. once there an ekg revealed a shock.k. even though she didn't fit the profile and only had flu like symptoms she was having a massive heart attack. >> women are more likely than men to have what we calls a typical symptoms of heart disease. she felt like she had the flu she felt bad, and d ew something wasn't right. >> the tests showed 100% of her coronary artery was blocked by a clot and another artery was 70% clogged. that blockage sometimes called the widowmaker frequently results in sudden death. in less than 15 minu^es, they stopped the heart attack by suctioninglout blood clots and inserting stints. >> my wife is a living breathing example of the importance of letting the professionals make the decision. >> reporter: grateful to her
