let's start with steve in ivy land bucks county. steve. >> reporter: natasha, in a close race, governor tom corbett says the pundits are always counting him out, that he's never the favorite in these raises but that he always responds with strong voter turnout. that was his message tonight. that was certainly his message as he went stumping through the state of pennsylvania today. our cameras were rolling in delaware county. he was there at a local diner but it was one of many stops corbett crossing through suburban montgomery delaware and bucks county ending tonight in a rally with chris christie in bucks county. the polls have corbett behind tom wolf. he tells me internal poll they've done say voting will be tight. tonight christie and corbett calling on the commonwealth republicans to get to the polls tuesday. we heard from both of them and they both had some pretty strong messages. >> my opponent wants to be ed

rendell, tax and spend, tax and spend. he wants to be barack obama. >> democrats are not coming out, they're not excited. in fact, they're not excited about their own candidates and they shouldn't be. they're not excited about tom wolf here in pennsylvania and let me tell you what's going to happen on tuesday night, four more years. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones picks up our coverage live at temple university. todd. >> reporter: well, natasha, nationally the presidenty president's approval rating may not be high but clearly the wolf campaign believes the president still has a lot of star power here in philadelphia. (applause). >> reporter: big cheers greeted president barack obama we arrived sunday night at the liacouras center. recent polls show tom wolf with a double different lead over tom corbett but in order for wolf to win he's going need to turn up the vote especially in democrat rich philadelphia. a turn for the president to hammer home the message as the final speaker of the meeting. >> the number of eligible voter whose vote tip pick in a midterm is like in the 30's. >> reporter: during his speech the president touted national economic growth while pivoting to take a shot at governor corbett on job growth in pennsylvania.

>> unfortunately because we've had a governor who doesn't always work with us, pennsylvania lags second to last in the country in job growth. second to last. >> reporter: but it was the candidate's turn to take the stage he focused in part on education with the philadelphia school district mri in there a series of budget problems and layoffs bush promised to fully fund schools. >> that is true in york could you, its true in elk county, it's true in eerie, it's true everywhere in pennsylvania, we need to make sure that we follow through on that promise. >> reporter: half the liacouras center was seconded off with a crowd of about 5500 people. and analysts at this point are still anticipating low voter turnout come tuesday. reporting live tonight from temple university, todd quinones for "eyewitness news" at 10:00 on the cw philly all right, todd, thank you so much. todd will be with the wolf

campaign in york pennsylvania on tuesday and i will travel to pittsburgh to cover governor corbett. stay with "eyewitness news" for continuing coverage of election day 2014. president obama meantime, he left philadelphia on a different plane than the one he arrived on. a mechanical problem was discovered in the flap of the c32 prompting officials to bring in a backup. the planes are smaller than the 747 the president typically flies on although any aircraft he flies in is identified as air force one. turning to our big game today, eagles a fans are celebrating this huge win. they lead the division but quarterback nick foles is hurt. beasley reece our sports director is live in the sat center tonight and he's got the very latest on his condition. >> the eagles are trite on track at six and two and leading the nfc east because dallas fell hard to the cardinals. cowboys without tony romo, the eagles will be without their quarterback nick foles. the last play of the first

quarter, foles under pressure gets sacked and slammed on his left shoulder. he had to leave the game with a injured clavicle. mri tomorrow. in the fourth quarter demeco ryans made an interception injured his achilles tendon as he happened and tried to start his run basket his season may be over. mark sanchez took over for nick and threw two such down passes helping the eagles take over first lace in the division way 31-21 victory in houston. >> injuries i'll wait until that gets announced and demeco, too, big time players on our team you never want to see stuff happen. so, that's tough. >> saw the extent of it. like i said we got a guy in mark who can step up and, you know, win some games so i'm excited about him being back there and we'll continue to move forward. >> next up the carolina panthers at lincoln financial

field monday night, 8:30, november 10th, a week from monday. lesley van arsdale will have full highlights and reaction later in sports. >> all right a-good sunday night, hope you're having a great weekend so far. certainly windy today but some better news as winds will diminish overnight but check out some of these peak wind gusts. these are the top reports across the delaware valley. they occurred earlier this morning. cape may coming in at 50 miles per hour, also up in northampton county, bush kill township also 50 miles per hour. here at philadelphia international airport topping off at 48 miles per hour and in the mid 40 miles per hour range both in wilmington and in perkasie. still some gusty winds currently across the delaware valley, no the quite as bad as earlier this morning. still gust to go 30 right now in philadelphia. and again these winds are coming out of the northwest. that's bringing in a cool and a drier air mass so it will get chilly tonight and we're talking about wind chills out there. current temperatures still holding in the low 40's here in philadelphia, 39, though,

in allentown, 38 in wilmington, upper 30's in south jersey. some of the suburbs, check it out, 35 degrees this hour already in willow grove, still hanging onto 41 mount holly new jersey. that's not factoring the wind. look at these wind chill values. down into the low 30's in some spots, near 30 in millville and a feels-like 18 degrees right now in mount pocono. so, it's going to be cold start monday morning, certainly heavier coat weather, temperatures waking up mid and upper 30's, may feel a little bit colder when you factor in the wind. good news we're nice and dry on storm scan3. more sunshine coming up this week, also warmer temperature. we'll get to that seven-day forecast in a few minutes. natasha. >> justin thanks. investigators in poconos are testing a rifle to see whether it was the weapon used by accused cop killer eric frein. u.s. marshals captured frein on thursday following a seven week long manhunt. he's charged with first degree murder in the september 12th ambush in which corporal bryon dixon was shot and killed and

trooper alex douglas was wounded. a man survivors being shot in the head and somehow manages to drive himself to the hospital. the unidentified man was shot at rising sun and west tioga in north philly overnight. he's listed in stable condition. police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this. so far, no arrests have been made. now, a matter accidentally gives away her wedding ring with halloween candy. that store is coming up. plus, a terminally ill basketball player's dream, it comes true as she gets to play in her very first college game. also, fire, it breaks out at the happiest place on earth. which will disney world ride was evacuated after a mishap involving fireworks show. justin. >> certainly a windy and cold finish to the weekend. we're talking about warmer temperatures coming up for the work week and also crumbled concrete. wind blows so strungy strong in one american city that it rips apart a jogging track.

train. a 19-year-old with an inoperable brain cancer, vows to make every single moment count. lauren hill's dream of suiting up for a collegiate game came true today in cincinnati. the former high school star scored the first and last baskets in the ncaa three division game. pitting her school against hire ram college. she left with bragging rights and awards for courage. a woman is shocked to discover that she accidentally gave her wedding ring to a trick-or-treater. she stayed home halloween night to give out candy. she didn't remember until later that she had placed her ring in the same bowl that she filled with the candy. she says the ring is much more sentimental than valuable and hopes that the trick-or-treater will see one of her posters and return it as soon as possible. families affected by autism join together for the 12th annual philadelphia walk now for autism speaks. kids kicked off the big event today by singing the national anthem at citizens bank park.

that brought the philly phanatic out. he promptly planted a little smooch on jessica dean chris may was there as well along with about 20,000 others. we're proud media sponsors of this event. >> all right, how about this? winter arrives in new england. the shovels were out in full winter arrives in new england. blanketed gillette stadium in foxboro, massachusetts. the field and the seats were covered so the race was on to clear out the snow before this afternoon's game against the broncos and it's windy, too. wind chills at today's game in the mid-20's. pretty brutal. now to chicago where the windy city a living up to its name. fierce winds and powerful waves ripped apart the concrete along lake michigan. other parts of the trail are severely cracked and run verse to dodge gaping holes.

we had a lot of windy conditions here across the region. not quite as windy as chicago. guts did get up to 50 miles per hour in some areas. some chilly temperatures, in the low 40's right now. mom factoring the wind. we're head up to montclair where aaron checks in with 42 degrees this hour, pretty chilly there and again it's going to feel more like the 30's when you factor in the wind in most locations. we'll head out to central new jersey where douglas, he checks in at 41 degrees, a about 11 miles per hour. he sends in a comment here clear, chilly and a bit on the blustery side. that's for sure. looks like these conditions continue. let's one more spot. we'll head to avondale pennsylvania, gary checks in also at 40 degrees, a northerly breeze at 14 miles per hour. do you really like the weather? you can be a part of the eyewitness weather team by joining the eyewitness weather watchers program. just check it out on our web site cbsphilly.com n-watchers.

you can be featured right here on our touch screen. let's see what's happening in center city philadelphia. clear skies, pretty quiet, still some gusty winds across the region but this is going to change as far as temperatures go. it's cold right now but watch what happens this week. average high is 61 degrees for the delaware valley but temperatures return to go above average in the next few days. tuesday wednesday and thursday low 60's for the afternoon highs. by the end of the week looks like another shot of colder air. 43 at the airport right now, 39 in allentown. that's the actual air temperature. that's not factoring in the wind. cold air to the north and west. up are 30's in state college this hour, it's that northwest wind sustained still coming in at about 20 miles per hour that's pulling in that cold and dry air mass. now watch what happens to the winds tomorrow. not even close to what we had today. sustained winds at about 10 to 15 miles per hour out of the west. so, a little bit more bearable

to be outside and then tuesday the wind direction switches out of the southwest so that starts to bring in some milder air. here's the storm that's causing all the wind. strong low pressure over northern new england southern canada right now. high pressure building in so it's that pressure difference between the two systems causing the wind. once that high moves over us which it will do tomorrow the wind begins to relax. temperatures still cool for this time of year in the visits but we'll have sun and clouds. 60's return to the forecast on tuesday. there's the cold front. out ahead of it we get the southerly wind flow. looks like we stay mild on wednesday. the front doesn't sheer clear us yet. thursday the front comes through bringing the chance of showers. a tuesday a big ridge in the jet stream over the eastern u.s. that brings in the milder air. don't get used to it. another big shot of some cold canadian air moving back down into the region for friday into the upcoming weekend. keeping things dry overnight, pretty much clear. clouds may develop during the

day on monday. that's a sign of the warmer air that moves in on tuesday. nice day to be outdoors tuesday and wednesday. looks like we'll see more clouds in the picture on wednesday but still dry conditions. here we go the temperatures. chilly start to the day tomorrow, we'll be in the 30's in the morning. upper 50's maybe even 60 in some spots if we see enough sunshine then well into the 60 on tuesday afternoonly still a lit bit breezy. overnight mostly clear, milder on monday, sunshine and clouds, back up to 58 degrees. here we go the extended forecast. pretty mild for election day, sun and clouds, 64. 68 degrees wednesday. here come the showers around on thursday. still in the low 60's. looks like friday there could be a few morning showers and then we cool it back down and dry out for next weekend but highs only in the low 50. don't put that winter coat away. you might need it again next weekend. >> thank you so much justin. south street head house district resurrects the day of the dead parade featuring a hearse, a mariachi band and

>> well, the eagles remain unbeaten against the texans but they lost offensive and defensive leaders in this game. first quarter, nick foles, airing it out all the way to germy maclin. that is 59 yards for the touchdown. now, the one problem that nick has is interceptions. seven in the last four games and later on in the quarter, gets hit by j.j. watt and pass picked off by aj boyar. he weaves his way through the eagles offense and scores right here. that will tie the game at seven. the last play of the first quarter, nick under pressure again, he gets sacked, lands on his left shoulder. not a good thing. has to leave the game with an injured clavicle. in comes mark sanchez. on his first drive, he finds jordan matthews right here for the 7-yard score and yes the birds will regain the lead.

texans respond. ryan fitzpatrick connects with foster down the side line and he is gone, 56 yards to the house and again, the game all tied up. third quarter, birds up by three, polk goes up the middle for the score and the eagles will take a 10-point lead. fourth quarter, texans deep in eagles territory, fitzpatrick picked off by demeco ryans but fumbles. houston recovers and demeco seriously hurt on this play. some of the players crying when the leader of the defense had to be carted off the field with a possible torn achilles. two plays later fitzpatrick finds hopkins for the score and eagles lead cut to three. kelly's heroes had an answer and that answer jeremy maclin for the 8-yard score. eagles won 31-21. everyone talking about the loss of foles and ryan. >> it's bad, you know, to see somebody go down like that and, you know, the only thing we can do is just keep pushing
