s simple. >> ♪ >> we begin at 10:30 with breaking details tonight in the abduction of a woman off a philadelphia street. take a look at this new video of a person of interest inside a gas station convenience store in maryland. we go now to "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter who is tracking the latest from north detectives tonight. walt. >> reporter: well, jess, with new video and new clues, carlesha's mother told me tonight it's all helping her to hold onto hope that somehow the kidnapper will be caught and her daughter will be safely returned. this video, the second released by police shows a new camera view as the kidnapper approaches 22-year-old carlesha gaither dragging her for almost a full city block as she struggles screaming, even kicking out a window in the car as she is taken away.

leaving behind a pe of shattered glass. >> you took something so important to me. you took my pride and my joy you a beast. >> reporter: tuesday night carlesha's mom directed her words at the kidnapper who stalked assistant as she was returning from party sunday night. this new video plus surveillance pictures of unidentified man using her bank card in maryland provide a small ray of hope for police and her family it shows a male using an atm card, her atm card. >> i'm happy that he showed his face 'cause now he going to put hisself out there and that's good and i'm happy but i'm devastated. >> reporter: gathering strength from each other and from a huge outpouring of public support that includes a $42,000 reward offer, family members say they know from watching carlesha's terrible struggle on the video that she fought to get free and they are hoping her strength will

help her to return safely. >> she's a fighter. i ain't giving up, she ain't giving up. she coming home, she coming home. >> reporter: now, with detectives assigned her to north division deployed here from divisions all over the city, this is rapidly becoming one of the largest manhunts in recent philadelphia history but sadly so far no sign of carlesha and her kidnapper remains on the loose. live at north detective division, i'm walt hunter, "eyewitness news" on the cw philly. >> walt thank you very much. our team coverage of this investigation continues now. >> diana rocco joins us from aberdeen, maryland, with more. diana. >> reporter: chris and jessica, police believe that the man who knows the whereabouts of carlesha gaither spent quite a bit of time here in aberdeen maryland this morning, only 70 miles south of philadelphia. we have some surveillance video that is just in. this is from a nearby gas station here in aberdeen this morning.

the pictures are the clearest police have seen yet. they are hoping someone will recognize this man. he is now being called a person of interest. investigators know that this man used an atm at the pnc bank here in aberdeen, maryland. he used carlesha's atm card and withdrew money. it was minutes later that he was spotted inside this gas station. we do have surveillance photos from inside the pnc where you can see the man spending a few moments in front of the atm. then you see him in the surveillance video from this gas station clearly walking around the store. this is has given investigators hope. it is their best look yet at a man they believe knows exactly where carlesha is. they are making a plea to the public tonight to take a good look at this video and if you recognize him, police are asking that you immediately dial 911. now, the fbi has also joined this investigation. they have been reviewing surveillance footage of the

"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live at wolf headquarters in york where wolf addressed his supporters earlier. todd. >> reporter: jessica as you know heading into today, we had tom wolf up in the polls at about 12 percent and as we take a live look right now at the remaining wolf supporters here beginning to file out,

we're getting a closer picture at some of the election numbers and right now it appears the margin of victory for tom wolf was right at about that 12 percent mark. during his victory speech here this evening he talked about funding pennsylvania schools and his conversation he had with governor tom corbett. let's listen in to a bit of what he had to say. >> he gave me a very gracious, very gracious, gracious concession speech and he was so gracious and i think we owe him a debt of gratitude and i would like to just express my gratitude to governor coett for his years of public service. we need to reestablish education as a priority in pennsylvania. this nation was founded -- this nation was founded on the idea of a broad based citizenship and very early on in the republican -- the history of the republic our ancestors realized that education was the key to a strong citizenship, to a

strong democracy, to a strong economy, to strong families and we needed to invest in that. we need to make sure that we resurrect that idea here in pennsylvania and make sure that education is at the top of the list, not the bottom. >> reporter: governor-elect tom wolf is also making some history tonight. he becomes the first candidate in the modern era to beat a pennsylvania governor who was seeking reelection. there you have it, governor-elect tom wolf winning tonight by about a margin of 12 percent. reporting live tonight in york, todd quinones for "eyewitness news" at 10:00 on the cw philly. >> all right, todd, thank you very much. certainly a bitter pill for governor corbett to swallow, not being able to secure this reelection but again, this is a campaign in which he just never seemed to be able to establish any kind of real momentum. >> right. tom wolf kind of coalesced the people around him and drove it home with public education but corbett did speak to some of his supporters earlier. let's listen to what he had to say.

>> i'm overwhelmed by all of the support of friends from my childhood, to my college days, to my days in the district attorney's office, the u.s. attorney's office, to private practice and the military. it has been a wonderful trip but it's just the end of one journey, it's the beginning of another journey. thank you all for joining me tonight. (applause). >> okay. governor tom corbett exiting the stage there after losing this campaign tonight. now gets some results from some of the pennsylvania congressional races. we'll begin in the 13th district and there is some good news there for the democrats as well. democrat brendan boyle running to replace allyson schwartz who of course left the house for an unsuccessful campaign for governor, he cast his vote in northeast philadelphia earlier today running against a republican businessman dee adcock who cast his ballot in jenkintown. we can show you those numbers now and it is a good night for brendan boyle, 69 percent of

the vote for the state representative, dee adcock now at just 31 percent, so an easy win for brendan boyle in house district 13. let's go to the sixth district, the jim gerlach seat voters deciding between ryan costello and manion t it is ryan costello winning this race with 57 percent of vote. dr. manion trivedi failing once again to win this campaign. he has run before. 43 percent of the vote tonight for manan trivedi. in new jersey the third congressional district up for grab. republican tom mcarthur and aimee belgard fighting for that seat. >> aimee belgard a

freeholder , tom mcarthur winning 59 percent, a self made businessman over aimee belgard's 39 percent. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is with tom macarthur at his headquarters in toms river tonight. cleve. >> reporter: that's right, it was a very exciting night for tom macarthur and all the republicans here in ocean county, tom mcarthur winning by a pretty large margin over democrat aimee belgard. here in the room you see some of the people still hanging out congratulating one another for some hard work. this is the first time that both belgard and macarthur have run for congress. both of them served locally in government, belgard as a burlington county freeholder , macarthur as a morris county mayor. these polls showed early on that macarthur had a lead and it held through election night winning by about 20 percent sap points. a little earlier we heard him on the stage

>> ♪ >> over sound bites. they chose optimistic solutions over angry ideology. the voters supported a candidate who has dedicated himself, me, i've dedicated myself to bringing people together to solve problems. the voters defeated the politics of division and finger pointing. >> ♪ >> reporter: tom macarthur there talking with some of his supporters. a big night for him as he says that he is very tired. this was a very active campaign for him. he was nonstop throughout the day driving through burlington and ocean counties trying to hit as many places throughout the district. he says he goes to washington with a open mind. he hopes his backgrounds in business will help him create jobs here in new jersey and also help down in washington in cutting down on some of the

budget costs. we're live here in toms river, i'm cleve bryan, cbs3 "eyewitness news" on the cw philly. >> cleve thank you very much. the third congressional district stretches from the shore to burlington county and that is where aimee belgard delivered her concession speech tonight. >> and our pat ciarrocchi is live at belgard headquarters in mount laurel, inform. -- new jersey. >> reporter: this was an uphill battle for aimee belgard. it was a lot more ad money coming in for the republican tom macarthur an lot less for belgard. she spoke to her supporters who are fiercely loyal to her. she spieth just moments ago. take a listen. >> what we believed in in this race and it was truly a hard fight and despite the outcome, we're going to continue to push for the issues that will strengthen america. women in this country are still making on average 78

fellow students an teacher. that 17-year-old was arrested yesterday and is undergoing a mental evaluation. taylor says when he saw the notes he immediately took pictures and took them to school administrators who called police. >> one of friends actually said, you know, like don't worry about this, dude, this is nothing and i said, no, this is definitely something. if i hadn't done something or this had gone unseen, then a week down the line we could have a completely different story that is much more terrible. >> the 17-year-old is charged with making terroristic threats. >> ♪ >> continuing coverage now of campaign 2014, some new results from pennsylvania's first congressional district where bob brady secures another term. he's held the seat since 1998. he's never drawn less than 80 percent of the vote and tonight he drew 83 percent of the vote easily defeating megan wrath in the first district. in pennsylvania's second

district, chaka fattah 80 percent of -- 88 percent of the vote. >> tonight we're joined by a special guest to talk about some of the big races. david thorn berg is executive director of the university of pennsylvania fels institute of government. >> he joins us live in our cw philly studios and david thanks for joining us. great to see you as always. >> my pleasure. >> i want to get started here in pennsylvania. the biggest race of the night being the governor's race. corbett had low approval ratings. was this more about tom wolf being the star candidate? was eight vote for him or was it just a vote against tom corbett. >> it was obviously a tough race for tom corbett and seemed like he just couldn't buy a break at any point during the election. not a surprising result because the polls were all running in that same direction, but in the national context it actually is pretty surprising when they talked about that. >> it occurs to me, david, that chris christie in new jersey took on the teacher's union and largely won.

in pennsylvania tom corbett took on the teach's union and lost. so, now is the challenge for tom wolf really in kind of changing the status quo and changing that dynamic between the executive and educators in pennsylvania? >> well, he's going to have his work cut out for him with the republican legislature and the labor generally was a big factor in this race, but it will be interesting. i think that the dance between an executive nd legislator, a lot of it comes down to personality more than partisanship. so, i think that's a big test for him. >> and i think that's interesting, too, because tom corbett will a hard time getting things through with a republican legislature. now we have a democrat. what can he do differently? does it come down to just personality do you think? >> i think it is. it's a dance. politicians have finally tuned antenna. they pay attention to little things and i think particularly in the opening days after the election, the

legislature's going to be watching now governor-elect wolf to see how he dances. >> well, we know you've also been watching tonight what's going on around the country, some key republican wins in states liken ken and arkansas and georgia. what do you see happening by the end of this night? are we going to have a republican senate. >> it looks like that. i think there's a maybe 90 percent chance of that happening at this point. a lot of close races and i think that a lot of close governor's races, this senate race in virginia is an absolute barnburner. i think they're going to be up -- i think e lawyers are coming in now for that one. [laughter] but it is going to be a big night for republicans. midterm, second term of a president, it's a tough time to keep the momentum up for the party in power and i think that's part of what we're seeing here. >> do you think there's a message coming oust election or they're ready for change. >> it's hard to tell.

there's such saturation now. the president has been on stage for six years and i think there's just a bit of weariness the way people are sort of viewing him and his administration. >> and quickly before you go, do you think an all republican congress we move forward and things get done or do you think it changes anything. >> not the next two years. it's hard to see how much more gridlock we can have than we have but, you know, hope springs eternal. >> yes, it does. david thornburgh with the fels institute at penn. thank you so much. >> my pleasure. >> clouds are rolling in to the delaware valley and we're seeing temperatures that are pretty comfortable out there. live neighborhood network shows some of the highs in the 70's, temperatures running at least 10 degrees above normal. valley forge at the middle school, 72. the same in malvern. in berwyn, te school district 71. hammonton, folsom school district 70. 60's are going to be sticking around.

right now in philadelphia, 57. 56 in wilmington, 59 in reading and 57 degrees in the poconos. you can see where the cold front is right here cutting right through little rock, dallas, just to the northwest of nashville. temperatures in the 40's to the north and west, 50's and 60's even 70's to the south and east and that colder air will be coming back but not so soon. we have one more very nice day. here's our cold front, a line of showers. right now not seeing any thunderstorms but a good dose of rain marching ever so slowly toward the east. so, during the overnight, mostly cloudy skies are expected and even during the day tomorrow it will be mostly cloudy but temperatures still making it into the 60's. then we'll watch that rain ride along the frontal boundary with an area of low pressure. that will enhance the shower activity thursday morning, even thursday afternoon. temperatures still in the 60's. we have to wait for that front to move through. then the cold and the wind will be returning. not all at once but it will be a gradual cooldown for friday and into the weekend. temperatures back in the 50's

with windy conditions for friday. so, here's a look at what we expect. for thursday, periods of rain, about a half an inch to an inch across much of the region. gusty winds, especially in the afternoon, a wet commute in the morning and again in the afternoon. so, overnight clouds, pretty comfortable, the low 50 degrees. during the tomorrow, no weather issues, just mostly cloudy, the high temperature 67. on the exclusive eyewitness weather seven-day forecast, thursday mild but wet. friday cooler, saturday 51. sunday a few showers. monday chilly again and then for veterans day on tuesday, some sun, the high temperature only 52 degrees. it will be chilly for the eagles on monday. and that leads us to our sports director beasley reece. hey, beas. >> hockey night in south philadelphia. flyers hosting edmonton. steve mason looking for his first win of the season. here we go. early in the first, it's jake voracek and he will end up with a puck behind the net, his wraparound shot beats the oilers goalie and flyers get on the board.
