door. if you look closely in this particular shot on the forefrown the grass is looking crunchy from frost forming out there too. nice light wind and cold air, 26 is the current temperature despite what looks like a beautiful start to the day. problem is even though we are starting off quiet here on storm scan three notice cloud cover starting to move in here across baltimore, then back through harrisburg. it is almost like closing in on us and it is because eventually there is a quick little disturbance that will eventually develop and this into our region that by this evening maybe as early as late this afternoon rain showers pick up. as the temperatures continue their decline throughout the night it could mix with ice or snow. here's the authentic we need cold air for this to stick and if it does so it will happen far north and west of philadelphia i don't think your a's looking at accumulation in the city but chilly rain showers tonight but all out of here by tomorrow morning. vittoria. >> thanks very much, katie.

good morning. >> i feel like i have a giggle and i'm in the laughing, well, it is a nervous laugh because if you are traveling anywhere right now, rush hour is in full swing. we have incidents to talk about. lets update you on the ben franklin bridge. making your way from new jersey to paw are not moving on the ben. westbound we were dealing with the overturned flatbed that lost a load of lumber on the bridge. they haded to work to clear that out. damage is already done. they have opened tup of the left hand lanes that they have been closing but if you are trying to get from the new jersey into philadelphia, i mean take a look, this is at toll plaza then traveling admiral wilson boulevard 676 this delay stretching almost back toward the 42 freeway, not kidding. coming from the 42 freeway north bound you'll find delays between 55 and 676 and 295, also on the northeast extension southbound we are still dealing with a four to 5-mile delay between area of

lansdale ape pennsylvania turnpike from an earlier jackknife truck. ninety-five at schuylkill and vine and 422 you'll fine rush hour delays, no doubt about that, ukee. more on our breaking news. police are investigating the the suspicious death of the woman found name and covered in bruises. >> "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer is live at north 53rd street where police remain this morning, nicole. >> reporter: ukee and erika, homicide and crime scene investigators are still on the scene searching the victim's home on north 53rd street in west philadelphia as you mentioned detectives speaking to family members of the tea seized six two-year old woman who are making serious allegation this is morning. they claim their aunt was a abused by that roommate and calling that police report a lie. police have not named the 57 year-old roommate as a suspect but only a witness after she said three men in masks and hoodies, broke in their home,

and tarringed her roommate. upon arrival authorities found six two-year old woman dead inside of her first floor bedroom naked and with bruises but in signs of a break in. that roommate was taken to hup with minor bruising and is being interviewed by police but with no signs of forced entry and ransacking inside the home, they admit her story is questionable and they are interviewing family members and neighbors who says the deceased suffered abuse at the hand of her roommate. >> i have call the police a few times to get that with man out of my aunt's house. they never did anything. >> she kept abusing. >> she kept abusing her. >> reporter: so as you can imagine emotions are running very high out here, on this scene. we have yet again to confirm with police if this roommate will be treated as a suspect right now as i mentioned just a witness. they are also relying on some

surveillance video found in and around the area and hopefully that will tell the story of whether or not the three mask men that the roommate spoke of did attempt to break in the home on north 53rd street. that is latest live from west philadelphia, nicole brewer on "eyewitness news" at cw philly. we are following more breaking news out of southwest philadelphia, investigators are working to find out what sparked an early morning house fire in king sessing. >> that is where we will fine "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao who joins us with the very latest, good morning. >> reporter: ukee and erika, good morning. fire investigators are on the scene working to determine the cause of this early morning fire. l and i is on the scene as well. i was able to speak with the home owner here man who owns the home next to the abandoned building where this fire started and he is a is that home is a trouble spot where people often go to do drugs. now that it is light you can see how much damage is left behind. place where that fire started is right there on the corner here of florence avenue in southwest philadelphia. now this fire broke out just

after 2:00 in the morning in the 5400 block of florence avenue in king sessing when fire crew is a arrived they found an unoccupied row home on fire. crew where is able to get those flames under control in 30 minutes but the fire had already spread to two neighboring homes, again, five people are displayed this morning including three adults and two teenagers, woman lives next door from the abandoned home here where the fire started, well, she awoke to use bathroom this morning and she noticed smoke in. family is shaken up this morning but they are also angry, lets take a listen. >> l and i should have torn the house down a long time ago there were drugs in that house. somebody was shot and kill. yet that house is still standing. now i lost my house because that house is still standing. >> reporter: his house is right next door to the abandoned house with this fire started. completely gutted this morning. they have lost everything. of course, very unhappy about a lack of response they say from l and i. we are working to get a response from l and i this

morning and get more information on that house as well. for now we are live in king sessing, jane carabao for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. a developing story now off-duty september -- it happened in philadelphia on the 600 block of winton street. eyewitnesses say the bus driver often visits the neighborhood to check on his mom. another man a 35 year-old, died of the gunshot wound to the head. at this point no word on a suspect or the intended target. police say that the driver of this car tried to run down an officer, during a traffic stop in north philadelphia last night. wild scene unfolded near 21st and oxford. the driver dragged an officer several feet but not another justly hurt. officer fired one shot at the the car which briefly got away. it was recovered on north lambert street near norris and they arrested the suspect when he sought treatment at jefferson hospital for a gunshot wound to his arm. new this morning fire

tears through a philadelphia restaurant and bar, fire fighters responded, to the call at the bar on the 600 block of north front street just after 2:00 this morning. it was under control in less than half an hour. there were no reports of any injuries. also new this morning normal service resumes on septa's trenton regional rail line after a minor train derailment in north philadelphia crews cleaned up that scene between fifth street and allegheny and clear field, in fair hill. police say a conrail freight train with an oversized load got stuck under an overpass, causing two boxcars to derail. no injuries were reported. things got heated at a community meeting in south philadelphia where neighbors met to rally with a begins a new you possible casino site. >> hundreds came out to the meet ago begins plans to build a casino at packer a avenue and darren street. it is one of four proposed locations for a second casino

in the city but the location near the stadiums is also close to a school which causes concern for many parents in that area. >> in my hands i have had over a hundred parents in our schools that are opposed to this casino. we don't want this. >> the pennsylvania gaming control board is expect to make a decision at a public meeting move 18th. happening today, silt i council committee debates the the future of the philadelphia gas works. it will be first meeting of its kind since council nicked mayor nutter's plan to sell pgw to private company for $2 billion. council did not vote on that plan. pgw hearings are expect to last through to tomorrow. there is also a public hearing this evening on violence in the city of camden, new jersey at rutgers university campus center at 6:00 o'clock. earlier this year the city was name the most dangerous city in the u.s. in the past week four people have been shot in unrelated

the 104 floor tower for more than an hour. fire fighters were eventually able to cut through a window and pull them to safety right there. authorities were in communication with the workers during this entire rescue. >> the cables did the not break, slack developed on the west side of the scaffolding causing it to go to that position . >> wind was blowing, as well. it must have been terrifying. >> when i see that, it is scary. i wouldn't want to be them. >> here's a look from inside one world trade center after workers were rescue. sky scaper opened up at the site of the twin towers just last week. why did this truck try to cross that bridge? he says because his gps told him to do so. that is what the driver told police when his 53-foot trailer got stuck on the narrow foot bridge. >> foot bridge. >> it did not work. >> police cited the 50 year-old driver for reckless driving and failing to obey road signs. crews towed the truck out after a few hours.

>> um, um, um. man accused of ditching a corvette in the delaware river as part of the bitter divorce spat is scheduled to go on trial next month. john crammer appeared for his arraignment after turning himself into philadelphia police. just continue finch picks up your story. >> reporter: two days after launching his ex-wife's red corvette in the delaware john crammer surrendered to police at northeast detectives. >> i didn't realize i did anything wrong. >> reporter: now he says it is hitting him, especially knowing he may not see his children for a while. >> seeing my daughter jillian, who has down syndrome. that is who i spend every day with. without her in my life, i'm unbalanced. >> reporter: monday's corvette caper was tied to crammer who says it became yet another flash point in his three-year divorce process from his estranged wife. she told cbs-3 she did not want to be identified. >> they threatened me that he was going to do it. >> reporter: she said crammer

sent her text messages admitting he dumped 1990 corvette in the river. as for why, both say it was over the couple's minivan which he wanted but did not get. that text violates a protective order she took out against him months ago. she said her front door is now boarded because he recently tried to break the glass to get inside. a witness at the river told police that crammer told him not to tell anyone what he saw but he did anyway, tipping off police to arrive to pull off the under water car recovery. >> we had to go in there and pull that car out would get new trouble. >> i didn't know anybody would go in trying to get the car. i didn't want anybody to do it. >> reporter: crammer is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment for those two officers that did go in the river after that car. he is charged with break ago this protective order his wife filed against him. he blames all of this on his bipolar disorder but police say that will be up to the court to decide. in northeast philadelphia, i'm justin fin c h for

"eyewitness news" at cw philly. lets get our traffic and weather together and it is finally here, katie, those 40's. >> indeed it is but isn't this a lovely view. >> that is pretty. >> trying to start you off with nicer news, right and notice i didn't put the temperature here on the live neighborhood network, the camera shot but here despite the beautiful sun and beautiful we have out there, we are off to a chilly start. eventually we have a new system that will be sipping in here. now what you you sees is what looks like two separate disturbances and we have lake effect snow right now over the great lakes. there is moisture, across the deep south here and it is not very well organized but it will create a very weak area have low pressure sipping on through and as early as this evening we will see even late afternoon some rain showers, but i'm showing you future snow map. don't panic here but what you will see is nothing more than

a few tenth of an inch, perhaps half inch, up towards the extreme, northern territory, we're talking poconos region. keep in mind guys, this cold air mass, just got here. it needs to settle in, and really get that ground cold, and if we are going to see accumulation out of this here's the general synopsis, rain showers, chilly rain showers, in philadelphia, maybe a few flakes mixed in but will not accumulate and wintry mix what we are expecting further north and west, possibly up to a very light coating on grasses surfaces and windshield here up towards the pocono region and if there is any damp roads tomorrow, it could mean icy patches. that is the aftermath and problem we might find. meanwhile we will not break out of the 40's for next few days but, we are clearing out quickly and that will be a theme for us throughout the weekend. speaking of the weekend, hey, you know kids who love weather? well, we want to you bring them out and we want to see them at cbs-3 kid caster auditions where they can show off forecasting, skills.

ben franklin bridge is jammed, new jersey all the way up into new jersey and philadelphia, westbound in the ben, blocking two right lanes. overturned flatbed that is carrying lumber and it lost its load. we have to upright that and clear out the debris if you are traveling on the ben, 676, admiral wilson boulevard, you are jammed. then we have rush hour delays to watch out for as well. traveling on the southbound side of the roosevelt boulevard volume build ago approaching the schuylkill expressway. traveling on the schuylkill eastbound and westbound threat throughout your western suburbs we have pockets around the vine street expressway. traveling on the platt bridge we are still dealing with the disable truck in the eastbound direction, heading down towards 26th street that is backing things up dunn to i-95. you do want to watch out for this accident not too far from kenneth square avondale, he will cot road is closed because of an accident between pennsylvania and cooper, penn green is your alternate. traffic jams can be labor some but this is something totally different. >> different kind of labor. >> just ahead meet the new

nicole. >> reporter: good morning to you. that is right homicide and crime scene investigators still on the scene here on north 53rd street. searching home of the woman found dead inside, early this morning. and, family members of the deceased six two-year old woman whose family called sand contract barley and they are making serious allegation this is morning. they claimed that their aunt, sandra was abused by her roommate a woman known by robin. this morning they are calling robin's police report a lie. police have not name robin as a suspect only a witness after she told police that the three men in mask and hoods broke in the home, struggled with her and targeted her roommate. new upon arrival, authorities found that six two-year old woman, sandra barley inside her home, dead, naked with bruises. but, no signs of a break in. so, we have seen no signs of forced entry and no ransacking

scene in king sessing where investigators are trying to find out what sparked those flames, jan, good morning. >> reporter: ukee abe erika, good morning. fire investigators have been on the scene all morning long. fortunately this morning no one was injured during the fire but a whole lot of damage has been left behind. that fire started on that corner abandoned home and spread to neighboring row home and five people have been displaced. it was ace frightening morning but a frustrating morning for neighbors here who say that they have complained about this vacant home before. neighbors forced out into the cold thursday morning after fire spread through an abandoned home to two others from the 5400 block of florence avenue. >> i'm in shock, because it is just so fast. >> reporter: he came running a across the street have after around 2:00 in the morning. she lives right next door to where the fire started. >> we got her stuff out that she needed. she will be fine.

herer contact you want to walk outdoors with a heavier coat for sure today but you can break out the sunglasses too. we're definitely quiet for now. bright blue skies f you zoom things out here on storm scan three what you will start to find is more cloud cover starting to almost surround our region. there is two pieces to this we have moisture that sips in from the southwest and then we will also have some cold air sort of moving in along with that. it will create this quick moving but very weak disturbance that leads to generally chilly rain at the on set. but, once temperatures drop later tonight it could be cold enough that you will see some snow flakes in mixed in northwest of philadelphia, and then if there is any left over patches itizes over in some spots. i don't want to you freak out here. could we see a coating? it is possible. it would be could be find to the unpaved surfaces to the poconos. that is where we have coldest air in place later on tonight. look at difference on that thermometer.

we have dropped 20 to 30 degrees here across the board since this same time yesterday. this is how it reacts on the thermometer. we're talking 26 in the poconos region. just shy of 40 in philadelphia and very quick check of our day planner here, don't worry about wet weather until at least we're coming up on sunset. so daylight hours are generally fine but then by tonight we will think about keeping the the umbrella at the ready, vittoria. >> thanks very much, katie. good morning, everybody. traffic is not g i have been telling you all morning, if you are trying to get into philadelphia, do not take ben franklin bridge because it looks like this. if i were to cover the eastbound side it would look like a still shot. all of this role is caused by a overturned truck that lost its load of lumber on the westbound side of the ben making its way in philadelphia still blocking two right lanes and they are working on the clean up. this delay is stemming back to 676 and almost touching the 42 freeway where we are already slow on the northbound side of the 42, and 57.

mockingjay. just because it was more challenging for me. because my character changes more and she's a very strong character it is very different from the beginning. i liked that. it was more fun to play because it was different and more challenging and we had some, really good scenes together. >> someone out there, if someone is out there who hasn't seen one and two, i doubt it, can they step in on this one and get caught up. >> i think so. it always helps to have seen the first two films but it is a great film on its own. i thought it was wonderful. i know fans will love it because it stayed so close to the book. anybody who just wants to see a great film they will have fun. >> for those who haven't explain the pin. >> yes, we are wearing it. mockingjay pin . that has a lot of meaning. i love how my character prim rosies one who gives catness the mockingjay pin before she

acting and be hopefully a successful as she is some day i think it is just wonderful still to witness that because she's so humble to see that she has gotten so far is just amazing. >> yeah. >> she's so down to earth. >> she's just loves what she does. there is not one moment where she's ever not happy with what she's doing with her life which is awesome. she just loves every minute of it. >> i could tell you have a passion about this industry young lady. i think i read you followed your brother to some auditions. >> my brother, sister and me were interested in auditions. we were living in new mexico there were random films there we were audition is here and there. it was open casting calls. and then i got an agent because i started to love it and then audition for hunger games came up randomly. they went searching every where for that part and it was very odd to get that audition but i'm glad i got it. >> we are too, thanks so much
