crash in bucks county. police say that a person was killed, four others injured in this accident on easton and county line roads. it's in warrington bucks county. right now there's no word on what led to the crash. we do know county line road is shut down and police are investigating. also tonight, disturbing new details in a family tragedy in burlington county. police say a mother shot her three children before turning the gun on herself. >> and tonight the question they're trying to answer is why. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers joins us now live from tabernacle with the latest. matt. >> reporter: chris and jessica, police tell us that their investigation is still ongoing but they have released the home where all of this happened back to remaining family members and for the first time this evening, we did see people back inside that home trying to take the first steps in moving forward. the small group of volunteers came to the house around 8:00

just visible through drawn shades. they were clearing a second floor bedroom after a crime seemingly unthinkable just two days ago. it was late afternoon when we first learned the details. thursday morning at 5 o'clock but before 9 o'clock 44-year-old jeaninne lepage grabbed a revolver and pillow. she shot each of her children, then shot herself. >> all four victims were found in the same bed. >> reporter: that's where another relative found them and called 911. 14-year-old nick herman and his eight year old sister nadia were killed. their 11-year-old brother alex is in critical condition along with his mother jeanine. >> motive is not one of those things we'll be able to talk about today. we may never know with certainty. >> reporter: it all depends on if jeaninne lepage survives. if she does she'll be charged with murdering at least two of her children. it's something the children's father is dealing with. he lives in maryland but his girlfriend described the

moment police broke the news. >> he broke down, broke down horribly. it was a horrific shock. >> reporter: a shock felt throughout this small community especially on the street where it happened. this woman's granddaughter played willet year old nadia all the time. >> it's hard for me right now because when i sit on my sun porch and look out the window i can picture her running by and waving at me. >> reporter: and we know there will be another vigil held to pray for this family, that vigil set for sunday night at 6:30 p.m. outside of the tabernacle township town hall. we're live outside of the red line state police barracks, matt rivers, "eyewitness news" at 10:00 on the cw philly. >> another chilly night out there but there is warmer news on the horizon. meteorologist kathy orr has more your first forecast. kathy. >> we're talking about a frigid night right now but then things are going to be looking up especially for the weekend and even the first part of next week. on storm scan3 we have the clear skies, the winds

lightning up a bit and temperatures are falling fast. 24 degrees right now in allentown, it's 12 in the poconos, 31 in philadelphia but look at millville. unbelievable. 18 degrees. it's not a wind chill that's the air temperature. and when you add that wind which is about five to 10 miles per hour it can feel colder. in allentown feels like 24, in the poconos feels like 14. tomorrow morning we'll wake up to temperatures in the 20's in the city, by noon 41, by the afternoon 43. the high temperature will make it to 46 before falling to 39 degrees by 8:00 p.m. but these temperatures a big improvement over today. coming up, we will be seeing that weekend warmth. temperatures are going to be on the rise chasing record warmth next week and then a chance of rain or even snow over the course of the holiday. we'll talk more about that with that thanksgiving and shopping forecast a little bit later on in the broadcast. chris. >> kathy thank you very much. well, police need your help tonight as they try to catch a knife wielding suspect who stabbed a woman to death

in delaware county. the violence happened in the 700 block of ingall street in chester. police say gwendolyn williams was stabbed in the chest on the street early this morning. she was able to get to a friend's house but that is where she died. it is unclear what motivated that attack. >> and now an elderly woman is in serious condition tonight after she was shaw pulled from a burning home in gloucester city camden county. the flames brock out on highland avenue. a second person was also in the home when the fire broke out and was taken to the hospital for observation. we know three dogs died in that fire. officials say there were no working smoke detectors in the house. the cause is now under investigation. a touching tribute to a new jersey firefighter killed in the line of duty. lieutenant chris hunter died last saturday less than 24 hours after responding to an emergency call. family and friends gathered this morning at the cinnaminson fire station. after a salute his flag draped

coffin was loaded onto a fire truck and chopper three was there as the motorcade made its way to the cemetery for the burial. tuesday's fire in north wildwood has claimed a second life. cape may county fire coordinator art trion died the day after fighting that fire on west 17th street. the body of 36-year-old linda martin was found inside the home. officials believe the fire began accidentally while martin was handling her kerosene heater. >> well, there is tension in the air tonight in ferguson, missouri, cbs news has learned that two men were arrested last night. they have been charged with buying explosives that they planned to use during protests there. the saint louis suburb is waiting to see if a grand jury will indict officer darren wilson in the shooting death of michael brown. cbs news correspondent omar villafranca tells us how law enforcement is hoping to prevent violence in the streets. >> i expect the best of people. >> reporter: saint louis county executive charlie dooley is optimistic about public reaction to the grand jury's decision on whether to

indict ferguson officer darren wilson. wilson shot and killed 18-year-old michael brown august 9th. the shooting sparked weeks of sometimes violent racially charged protests. it's a scene local officials don't want repeated. >> the protesters are nonviolent, police will not be aggressive. >> reporter: cbs news has learned the fbi arrested two people thursday night in connection with the purchase of explosive materials that were allegedly to be used in pipe bombs during demonstrations. >> you're under arrest. >> reporter: a small number of demonstrators were also arrested thursday night. attorneys representing michael brown's parents say the family says progress will be possible only through peaceful protests. >> they do not advocate any violence, any looting, any rioting. they are totally against that. >> reporter: most ferguson area schools are scheduled to be opened next week but administrators have contingency plans in place in

case classes are canceled. omar villafranca for "eyewitness news" other cw philly. >> well, back in philadelphia the police are asking for your help as they try to identify a suspect who stole a package from right outside a home in south philadelphia. take a look at this surveillance video. it was from november 14th. it shows a woman approaching the home on reed street and then stealing a package that was left by the post office behind a storm today. now, if you look closely, you can see the theft actually happened in the reflection of this van's window. that woman was last seen walking away eastbound on reed street. >> a new trend in dining opened up in philly tonight and in this case the food may take a back seat to the service and the restaurant's no tipping policy. diana rocco was in fishtown for the grand opening new tonight. >> can't be more satisfied. >> reporter: the dishes are plated to perfection and so far so are the reviews. >> fish, pasta, salad and things that you normal are used to, normally that you

love, they have found ways to make them more tasty, more special. >> reporter: but what has everyone talking about the fishtown byob is their no tipping policy. owner christian maura and chef co-owner brian olivieri have a wait staff on salary with paid sick days vacation time and health benefits. >> let's take care of the service, the staff, the cooks, dishwashers. in turn they'll take care of everyone who comes through the door. >> reporter: the food prices on the french influenced menus are a little more to make up for the no gratuity. the guest on their first night didn't seem to mind. >> the food is amazing. anywhere in center city i feel like these prices are clues comparable. >> reporter: tipping is allowed. if you're happy with your service leaving something at the end of the meal is that much more for your service. >> it's up to them of course. i go in every day not expecting it. it's really nice. >> reporter: server kristen says it takes the pressure off

turning tables and allows her to focus on the customer. no tipping restaurants are becoming something of a trend with eateries adopting the pot see from philly to new york city and from washington, d.c. to southern california. gerard seats 50's -- 50 and only takes reservations n fishtown, diana rocco for "eyewitness news" on the cw philly marathon weekend is under way in philadelphia. 60,000 spectators expected to cheer on about 30,000 runners. many runners picked up their race numbers and other materials at the pennsylvania convention center today. independence mall, the liberty bell, kelly drive and the start and finish lines at the art museum are just a few of the landmarks along the 26.2-mile course. runners tell us that they are excited about sunday's race. >> i'm just praying i cross the finish line. i have a lot of family running with me we'll be there to

homes on snow mobiles because cars still can't get around in so many areas. these players are headed to detroit. the team will play the jets there monday night since their stadium is still buried in snow. >> we're glad to report tonight that a philadelphia woman has been reunited with her dog nearly seven weeks after the dog disappeared along with her car. this is louie and louie is safe and sound at home tonight. his owner j.j. pierce says she is thrilled to have her black lab mix back. louie was inside her honda when it was stolen from a parking lot at the home depot on columbus boulevard in south philadelphia. j.j. described for us the moment she was reunited with louie. >> he walked right up to me and started nos n they were telling me this is him. this is confirmed to be him. but i knew it, you know, as soon as -- as soon as he walked up.

>> j.j. tells us that louie lost about 15 pounds but otherwise he's in great health. >> so glad to hear that. and an amazing story unfolded on the streets of san francisco. a window washer fell 11 stories onto a moving car and survived. it all happened in san francisco's financial district this morning. now, the car's roof did cave in. the driver was unharmed. investigators say the window washer suffered serious injuries but we still don't know what caused the accident. if you're living the single life, it could be because of your dna. some scientists think they've identified a single gene which makes people 20 percent more likely to be single than others. research found in those with lower levels of serotonin feel less comfortable in close relationships and that reportedly makes it harder for them to form relationships in the first place. it can can also lead to a higher chance of breakup. and a sure sign the holidays are just around the corner.

our talk radio 1210wpht was also inducted. congratulations to susan dom and all of the year's hall of fame inductees. >> well said indeed. a good night to be indoors because it's so cold out there. weather watchers are saying we can tell that high pressure is dominating our weather, the barometer is just soaring. the skies are clear and that wind is light but the temperatures are falling fast. take a look at some of these numbers. we'll start off where it is 28 degrees in morrisville pa. john is saying a cold night but skies are clear. look at this, 18, the coldest number we have seen tonight. captain chuck is saying 18 degrees with that barometric pressure on the rise from 30.02-inches. closer to reading dave is saying 29 degrees with a very low relative humidity. the barometric pressure is high, winds out of the west at seven. farther to the south, 23 degrees in coatesville, lee

is saying frigid conditions and it's only going to get lower. if you would like to be an eyewitness weather watcher, we would love to have you join our team. it's very easy. go online go to cbsphilly/watchers. cold out there, this is a view of center city philadelphia, a little bit of a wind but cold temperature in the 20's and falling. temperatures have been cool the past couple of days but we will be on our way up. consider this. yesterday a high of only 50 but close to that average high of 54. today not respectable at all, 37 degrees but by tomorrow we jump into the 40's, some improvement. sunday we go above average and monday soaring to record warmth. it's not going to last long but enjoy the next four days. temperatures right now range from 31 in philadelphia to 12 in the poconos, 18 in millville, 28 in wilmington and 26 in reading. lots of teens on the board tonight through state college, lots of teens on the board

cleveland 17. some more cold air to the west. the good news is our weather is not going to be coming from the west. it's going to be coming from the south. the same high pressure system that's cooling us tonight will fall to the south to give us more of a south-southwesterly flow tomorrow. that's why temperatures jump into the 40's. as it moves off shore stronger southwesterly winds build in for sunday, high temperature in the 50 with a good deal of sunshine. sunday a really nice day to be outside or be at a football game. the rain moves in sunday night through early monday morning and then after that, we have strong southwesterly winds monday afternoon talking 35 miles an hour gusts. it will be windy but warm with high temperatures challenging the record of 71. so, for monday this is what we expect. a slow morning commute especially early morning commute. the rain should be out of here by 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning. after that southwesterly winds very strong, the high at least 70, the record 71 set back in 1979. then we have to talk about what comes next. for thanksgiving week, watching this coastal low that

looks like it will bring mainly rain wednesday. there's a chance there could be some wet snow with this depending on how close it gets to the coast. thanksgiving is dry but cold and then here's another area of low pressure for black friday, almost looking worse. this looks like it could bring rain and even snow and we're going to keep a careful eye on both of these systems because there's a lot of time between now and then so please pay attention to the weather over the next several days. overnight the low temperature 25 in the city, some teens in our suburbs. highs tomorrow in the 40's and as we look ahead, looking pretty good for the birds. kickoff 1 o'clock on sunday. look at that temperature, 53 degrees. and on the exclusive eyewitness weather seven-day forecast, warm for monday, pleasant for tuesday. wednesday that's the first coastal low. thanksgiving looks chilly but pleasant and then friday black friday might be a real good day to stay inside. we'll keep you updated thon. >> all right, we'll keep an eye on that, kathy, thanks. >> they were inside in south

in a seven game series received a hard foul from nerlens noel. bledsoe didn't like it. eric got the technical foul. brett bounce team got scotched by the suns. local product morris throwing down one. he had 18 points. isaiah thomas came off the bench and scored 15 of his team high 23 points in the second quarter. phoenix outscored the sixers 41-17 in the quarter en route to vic sorry. the birds connect. tennessee dallas the giants and dallas again. it all starts with the titans sunday at the linc. this will be mark sanchez's third complete game replacing the injured nick foles. he's played to mixed reviews. over 300 yards passing in both games but offering up four interceptions. >> obviously from not playing in this entire year a year ago
