cars. before flipping over and bursting into flames, a few yards away. that crash remains under investigation. and, a fire has damage add rowhouse in west philadelphia. firefighters got the call to a fire at this home at 12 south connestoga street around 3:45 this morning, they got it under control in about a half hour. we're told one person is at the hospital with a medical condition not related to that fire. also, a shooting outside west philadelphia bar, sends man to the hospital, police say, a 30 year old man was talking to a woman, at 40th and market, when another man shot him in the thigh. now, after that shooting the victim ran into a bar where police say he works as a bartender. he is? stable condition, police are now looking for that gunman. >> good morning, everyone, second attempt spells sweet success for nasa. >> about hour ago, the space agency launched it newest spacecraft orion after multiple delays scrubbed plans yesterday. cbs news correspondent craig boswell response ushers in new era of sprays exploration.

delay out of the northeast so give yourself more time, jump on 95 at different location, like, aramingo, for example. as we continue now, jumping on over to the scene whatever looks like something's going on, unless they just zoom n476 making your way around route one. i thought they were zooming in on something, but seems to be the cameras just zoomed in for the sake of zooming in. if you are traveling on 476, we do have northbound delays between 95 as you make your way out through to springfield, so careful that 25 miles per hour is your speed censor. thirty on the schuylkill, but speeds drop, approaching the boulevard, out through to just beyond gladwynn. remember, it is 15 miles per hour on 95, we also still have delays for the paoli thorndale line. and the manayunk norristown line. so definitely want to double check that. >> not to indict white police officer in the choke holding death of african-american man. >> this morning, cbs news reports more than 200 people

launched a federal investigation. well, hip hot artist and reality television star flavor flav joined demonstrations in missouri. stood with protesters as they rallied outside the city police department. before that, he encouraged demonstrate tears remain peaceful when he spoke at a local church. well, bill cosby is firing back, the comedian is counter suing a woman who claims he molested her four decades ago, when she was just 15 years old. >> cosby's lawyers are asking a california judge to throw out her lawsuit. to investigate sex assault claims against bill cosby, even if he can't be criminally charged. >> no, could be used in civil recourse or number of other things. we don't turn people away because things are out of statute. you come to us specially with now sexual allegation, you know, we will work with you. >> the lapd would not elaborate on the chief's comments, but, former la county prosecutor, steve mizer, says the move is unusual, unlikely, and possibly illegal. >> if lapd takes taxpayer dollars, and uses them to basically function as the private investigator for private plaintiff, that should be construed as an unlawful gift of public funds and it should be barred. >> that would apply to the woman who filed suit against cosby, tuesday. she claims the comedian sexually assaulted her in 1974, at the playboy mansion, when she was only 15 years old. cosby's attorneys are working to dismiss the suit, calling her story false, and saying she tried selling it to tabloids a decade ago, and,

is her moanly commemorate the attack on pearl harbor. the ceremony begins at 10:00 this morning. sunday is the 73rd anniversary of the surprise attack on pearl harbor. more than 2300 americans were killed prompting the us to enter world war ii. >> depending on location, before you went to the break, we showed you shot down the shore, where they've got some sunshine, a loft us stuck in the clouds already, because of the mess that's encroaching on the area as we speak. you know, even though this is actually a warmfront, whether talking, just terms like that. just because we call it warmfront doesn't mean the atmosphere will stay warm enough it is just rain. obviously cold enough air in place to trigger pink, purple to show up on the radar, in other words, wintery precipitation through central pennsylvania. here is the main bulk of the storm, though, still well off to the west, here is your warmfront, core of the storm, still developing, with some pretty heavy rain. then you have frontal boundary

cold frontal boundary sort of swept on the back edge of this. all piece haves to come through before we say we're done with the storm, which means seconds half of today and basically all of tomorrow dealing with this now today mid 40's being social security owing see the warmfront keep it relatively steady once they climb to the 40's, be generally just looking at a wash out here. looks like saturday, if you are looking for a window of opportunity to get in outdoor plans, i suggest early on tomorrow. otherwise expect the rain is pretty much going to take over the radar t may be stuck with us for the better part of the day. that will would be your little window every opportunity if you really need it. looking ahead to sunday, lingering shower in the morning, end up with sunshine later in the day which is good news for the eagles obviously, but could be some wind issues out there, with chilly wind, out at trenton, 30 allentown, chilly start, but at least dry for now, and perhaps if i were

fine rush hour delays as well on not only 95, where you are traveling 15 miles per hour and not only on the schuylkill where you are at 30, western suburbs, biggest pocket approaching city avenue through the tiglate win, 476, jammed in the blue route from 95 out through to route one, also seeing delays in the westbound side of the pa turnpike, out of willow grove to mid-county, and on 422 eastbound as you commute your way from trooper down toward 202. manayunk norristown, as well as paoli thorndale delayed, 101 and 102 trolley, run on or close to schedule. >> victoria, thank you. health watch this morning, officials say the flu vaccine may not be very effective in preventing the flu this year. the centers for disease control say the strain that doctors are seeing most right now is actually the strain that's not in the vaccination. if you receiver the shot should still provide some protection, last year the flu shot about 60% effective. >> health off initials new jersey, suspected second case of hepatitis-a is false alarm.

at clinic where hepatitis-a vaccinations were offered to resident of hamilton township. officials say anyone who ate at rosa's catering should get the shock if they've never been vaccinated for hepatitis-a. this morning an employee remains hospitalized after getting sick. three puppies rescued from deplorable conditions inside a north philly warehouse gets second chance at life. syma chowdhry has an update on their road to recovery, and the search for a forever home. >> test puppies only for months olds, but haven't had easy life. last month, the three were removed from a warehouse filled with booby traps, on the 1800 block of west sedgley avenue in north philadelphia. they were taken away by animal control, during a eviction order. >> poor little puppies, were in really bad shape. and have i urgent, needed rescue to step up or would be euthanized. >> founder of new life and mal rescue and brought them to the

mt. laurel animal hospital. sad they have to live in those conditions. it is not their put. >> pup his an upper respiratory infection, and a severe and very contagious case of mainge. >> had so many scabs that they were, again, tearing themselves apart. >> the three were under weight, un comfortable in their own skin, and full of fear. >> they were so frightened, and really didn't want to have any kind of human contact animals were kept in isolation room, the three are now expected to make a full recovery. >> they have a lot of hair lost, but hair coming in, and these guys, in a few months, you won't even know that they had this condition. >> now that they aren't in pain, the puppies can focus on being puppies. >> much more comfortable, in fact, thank you, they're much more comfortable. >> all three will be in foster care by the ends of this week. then, they'll be up for adoption. if you would like to learn more information, just log ton our website cbsphilly.com n

this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". good mornings everyone, i'm ukee washington, fiery one car crash kills a man in montgomery county. it happened around 1:30 this morning on hill dale and bonntower road in cheltenham township. driver struck several parked cars, flipped into a yard, then burst into flames. he was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators are working to determine what caused that crash. >> let's get your forecast with katie in the weather center. good morning. >> hey, everybody, happy friday to you. today is going to be a day of transition for us, we start off generally dry, going to end up with some soaking rain. now, as we look at storm scan3, and, you know, just in the last couple of hours here, we have actually seen few little blips on the radar here, and some of the eyewitness weather watchers out in the network reporting they've seen little sleet.

vittoria joins us with a check of all of the roads. we'll do traffic and weather together. coming up in just a few moments from now. in the news, good morning, bill cosby using the courtesies tell to fight back against another sexual assault allegation. >> his lawyers counter sued the woman claiming she was only looking for a payday after failing to sell her story to a tabloid. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live in the cbs-3 sat center with the latest on that, justin? >> cosby's legal team says latest accuser tried to extort him before. now coming back for more of his money. lapd chief is saying these cosby claims warrant investigation, even if they're passed, the statute of limitations. it has been a long week for cosby on tuesday. that california accuser filed suit, claim that he drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was 15, back in 1974 at the playboy mansion. now, cosby is countering suing her, claim that she tried to extort him for up to $250,000, and sell her story to the tabloids, and then on

wednesday, three more accusers came forward, and that was on the same day that word came down that cosby would no longer serve as a trustee at temple university. and on thursday, the us navy pulled cosby's honorary chief petty officer stat us a mid these growing allegations. this bridges the number of accusers close to 20 at this point. and the chief of the lapd says his agency is willing to investigate these claims even though some experts call that move unusual and possibly illegal. >> we will obviously regardless of statute investigate if they're brought to us. >> lapd takes taxpayer dollars, and uses them to basically function as the private investigator for a private plaintiff, that should be construed as an unlawful gift of public funds and it should be barred. the lapd would not comment further on the chief's comment, however, do say they have no record of complaint against cosby, at this time.

out there. we want you to mine full of everything. speaking that far, here is the schuylkill. if you are heading in the westbound direction, out of university, down through to the vine, you're slow once i get on to the vine street expressway, in the eastbound direction. making your way or eastbound, there we go. hey we all have those moment, don't we? eastbound on the schuylkill expressway, making your way between the schuylkill and broad street, you will find delays westbound approaching the schuylkill you will find delays. talk speed censors. thirty-one your average on the schuylkill expressway. do you drop down to even lower than that on the westbound side approaching city avenue out through to about conshohocken. twenty-one your average on 95, not doing great there. there we have the little piece of red on the westbound side of the vine, headed toward 76. blue route pick up. now 53 miles per hour, which is gate -- great. still dealing with delays on paoli thorndale, mannyunk norristown, trolleys running on or close to schedule. >> the deal to sell pgw to private company is officially

no-go. uil holding pulled the plug on almost $2 billion deal after city council refused to hold a hearing on that sale. march michael nutter released a statement blasting the council's decision as quote massive failure in leadership. >> ticket scam nearly shuts out fans from cat stevens show in upper darby. more than 100 people bought ticket issued on gift card for thursday's show at the car theater from a third party setter. the buyers were told they only need that gift card and a driver license to see the show. but those ticket were not honored for security reasons. leaving a bunch of fans outraged. >> they assured me would you have no problem getting, the ticket on the gift card. >> ticket all scams. just awful. everybody up there heart broken, so many people, it is terrible. >> all i want ... catch cat stevens, all i wanted to do tonight. >> fans with those gift card base tickets were allowed in, but many of them this left because of the ticket
