"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from bucks county with the details, good morning, jan. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning. line of school buses pulled in and out of the bensalem high school this morning very slowly, cautiously, grief counselors will be on hand today to talk about with any students in need. in the meantime school district officials are talking

about school bus safety issues and looking for more ways to better protect students of the future. so last night family and friends and classmates came out for a vigil to remember the victim, 16 year-old sophomore here at bensalem high school. she was hit and killed, by an suv, who officials say went around a stop schooled bus with the flashing lights on and a stop arm out. that investigation is continuing today. we will know that the driver of that vehicle was also a teenager, an 18 year-old at a local technical high school. of course, vigils are held and

school district officials are speaking about other issues and ways they can better protect students, at this point there are no crossing guards, for high school students, at any intersection, and that is one of the things they will be looking at, later on today and grief counselors will be available for any students in need. reporting live from bensalem, jane carabao for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. >> thank you, jan. authorities are not sure what exactly killed bradley stone, man accused of a killing spree in montgomery county. but they suspect that he took his own life. stone's body was found, tuesday in a wooded area near his home in pennsburg. prosecutors say stone had a deep stab wound in his leg but that it did not kill him. a machete an axe were found near his bod which medicine bottles and a energy drink. results from toxicology tests could take weeks. on who knew stone did not know about his troubled past. >> i don't ever remember anybody having a problem with him. >> when i awe him in 2001, he

was drinking, different prescriptions for antidepressants. >> authorities say stone killed his ex-wife, nicole, abe five members of her family on monday. a teenager survived the rampage. gun scare inside samuel fels high school prompts a will be down and lands a 18 year-old student behind bars. another student showed an administrator a cell phone picture of the weapon inside the building yesterday. after sweeping the building, for hours, police found the gun in a trash can. the school does have metal detectors but it is unclear how the gun got past them. doctor lawrence wean, covered his face as he was led out of the delaware county courthouse in handcuffs. prosecutors say wean ran a pill mill out of his practice in media and wrote prescriptions for cash. he was also charged with insurance fraud. authorities say that wean's arrest followed a three month undercover investigation, he is now in county prison unable to post $500,000 bail. happening today, security

will be tight around the federal courthouse in boston where marathon bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev is scheduled for an appearance. it is his final pretrial conference before jury selection begins next month. tsarnaev has pled not guilty to 30 federal charges related to the april 2013 bombings. the attack killed three people and injured more than 260 others. 7:06 right now. sony pictures has canceled upcoming release of the controversial comedy the interview amid growing security concerns. the the movie studio was target of the data breach that the federal government has connected to north korea. street subway after several attempts he made it over the the turn style but get this, we're told he left the station without even getting on the train. philadelphia police arrested this man leonard monroe in connection with two firebombs in germantown as they investigate a third. authority say he is responsible for setting two fires on east colter street in the last two months. he was out there facing several charges including aggravated assault and arson. new york governor andrew cuomo is taking a stand begins fraking, an issue that has been debated for years he announced a statewide ban on the process. some argue it is bad for the environment using water, sand, chemicals to extract natural gas from deep underground but others say it limit economic opportunities. governor cuomo says it was one of the hardest decisions he has had to make. >> this has been a probably

celebration in southern california turns deadly after police say a woman drove into a crowd leaving church. one person was killed and a dozen more were injured including at least one child. investigators say the the driver ran a red light hit several pedestrians and kept going until she hit another car. she has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. scary moments outside a texas television station, after a gunman shoots a meteorologist. police say patrick crawford was walking out of kcn-tv when someone approached. according to authorities two men exchange word before shots were fired. investigators have a person of interest in custody but have not identified him as the gun man. crawford remains in stable condition this morning. police in toledo, ohio say they have had to use pepper spray to help control a large crowd. investigators say hundreds lined up for tickets to buy the new air jordan shoes but they say things quickly got out of control, and, briefly

"eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao joins us from outside that school where district officials are rethinking their bus safety. good morning, jan. >> good morning, erika and ukee, good morning. they have moved out of here this morning and they did so slowly and cautiously school district will be reconvening, and, coming together and more and better ways, to detect this in the future. sudden loss of friend, classmate, a 16 year-old is nothing these bensalem high school students ever imagine they have to deal with. >> i will in the see her ever again. it is just not ferreter report but wednesday night in candle light dozens came to remember sophomore minette zeka in the shadow of the intersection where she died. it is very depressing, everybody just looks so sad. >> zeka was killed crossing busy bensalem boulevard near bridge water road, and police

say her bus was stopped on the road with flashing lights on, and, arm out, when suv ran through signals, drove past bus and hit the 16 year-old. >> a bronco suv vehicle was traveling west bun on bensalem boulevard, disregarded the school bus, and activation lights and stopped sign, and preceded through intersection striking and dragging the child for some distance. >> reporter: the driver also a teenager is identified as an 18 year-old student who attend a technical high school in bensalem. scenario has left students grief stricken with you none as much as danielle, who says that zeka saved her life at that very same bus stop once before. >> she grabbed me a couple weeks before, and, and, i was front for her today. >> reporter: crossing guards, but,. >> the morning, it is jammed packed and everybody is rushing to get out of here.

according to the suit scotland was hospitalized for six weeks, suffering traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and facial fractures. audio interview between the department of safety and elevator operator said nothing was out of order that day. >> have you you been to the fourth floor during your shift. >> and doors operated normally. >> everything is working fine. >> suit alleged scotland had casual contact with the door, but one witness told a different story. >> did you see, the elevator door was pushed in, and, sideways. inbound, and, what we saw before that were people pushed up against it almost like goofing around playing. >> according to sister station wbz in boston the official state record says scotland jumped up and hugged her father from behind and when she jumped off hit the elevator door with the enough force to make it opened. according to the suit scotland's medical bills now exceed a quarter million, and while she is back home in

brigantine she requires, continuous care and treatment. wbz also reports state inspector concluded while the door was okay, that day it did have have a long history of problems. we reached out to scotland's family but did not hear back from them. we did hear from the red sox though, they said we cooperated fully with the department's investigation of the tragic accident, and we will not be commenting on it. we have taken all necessary steps to assure that the elevators in even if waste park are safe, and our thoughts remain with miss scottland and her family and we hope for continuing progress with her recovery. jessica dean for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. your time is now 7:38. corruption investigation involving penndot leads to ten arrests, and multiple felony, fraud charges. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers tells us the arrest are part of the larger investigation that stretches, beyond philadelphia. >> these defendants are accused of being involved in a

massive overtime scam. >> a scam that cost taxpayers 1.2 million-dollar according to chief deputy attorney general eric olson, nine of the ten defendants were arraigned wednesday morning. here's how the crime breaks down at the the top, penndot managers, alexander marron on the left and william rosety on the right underneath them, eight different penndot highway inspectors. those inspectors would put in for overtime they did not work, marron and rosety would a approve it and get paid by each inspector. >> it sound worse than what it is. >> reporter: brian collins is the the attorney for christopher, he says his client is innocent. >> i think what you'll find out when this case resolves itself is that mr. louch acted honorably. >> reporter: or contractors who worked for outside companies, prosecutors are not sure if those companies will be charged. >> they profited immensely from this. that i can say a is part of our ongoing investigation.

we are no where close to being done. >> reporter: wednesday's arraignments are just a part of what the attorney general's office calls an act a i have, wide ranging investigation into penndot's sixth district. officials say they have uncovered five million-dollar worth of fraud so far and the chief deputy attorney general put it every time one doors opened, it leads to two more. matt rivers, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". pennsylvania governor tom corbett has only four weeks left on the job. and now he is thinking about life outside governor's mansion. corbett a says he might work on a republican date's presidential campaign but he has not settled on a candidate. he is also opened to teaching or accepting a seat on the corporate board. corporate leaves office yan 20th after losing the election to tom wolf. new jersey governor chris christie plans to use the holidays to talk about his family, with his family about possibly running for president. christie is waiting for his oldest children to come home from college before making a
