zeka was crossing at bridge water road in bensalem boulevard when she was hit. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us at that school where school officials are now reviewing their bus safety, jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning. school district officials will come together today to discuss school bus safety issues and what, if anything, can be done to better protect students in the future. at this point there are in crossing guards for high school students but many students and parents alike say much more needs to be done especially in light of yesterday's deadly accident. the in the meantime family and friends in this entire school district are all morning loss of the 16 year-old student, last night dozens came out to a candle light vigil for minette zeka a sophomore at bensalem high school. she was killed wednesday morning crossing the intersection of bensalem boulevard, near bridge water road. police say her bus was stopped in the road when its flashing lights on and stop arm out when an suv ran through the

signals, drove past bus and hit zeka. she was rush to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. driver has in the been identified but also a teenager, a 18 year-old student at a technical school in bensalem. the driver is cooperating with police. now they are questioning the safety of that intersection. >> in the morning, come 7:00 o'clock it is jammed packed and everybody is rushing to get out of here. >> he grabbed me a couple weeks ago to keep me from getting hit by a car. i was than the there for her today. >> reporter: sudden loss of the classmate and a friend just too hard for many students to take. that is why grief counselors and other help will be on site here at bensalem high school for any students in need. in the meantime no charges have been filed at this point and that is up to the district attorney. reporting live, jan carabao for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. an 18 year-old student is facing charges after police say he brought a gun inside a northeast philadelphia high school. samuel fels school in

somerdale was will be down for an hour yesterday. an administrators called police after a student showed him a cell phone picture of the gun inside the school. the weapon was recovered from a trash can. no one knows how the gun got past the the school metal detectors. a delaware county doctor remains behind bars unable to post a half million-dollar bail. doctor lawrence wean is accused of operating a pill mill outside of his baltimore pike office. investigators say they have built their case through under cover byes and painkillers and narcotics over past three months. wean was also charged with insurance fraud. lets get your traffic and weather together. here's katie. >> katie, this will be a really pleasant day. it is breezy out there it will stay that way most of the the day. it will feel colder then thermometer will be feeling. we expect sunshine and temperatures that are a. storm scan three we have seen nothing on the radar whatsoever. we can throw satellite coverage on top of this too and in the last few hours,

expressway. seventy-six looks like the schuylkill today. watch out for sun glare affecting your rush hour but you are delayed out of south philadelphia and then all the waste down through the vine. more westbound traffic as you approach the area of the roosevelt boulevard and continue out towards 476. tennis your average on the schuylkill, 19 on 476 and traveling on i-95, southbound delay is another just out of the north east down through vine street express raids where you are average a only 13 and that is not a lucky number today. traveling on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound and mid county we had an earlier accident, that has been cleared but unfortunately the delay, it is now back even beyond willow grove out towards bucks county. give yourself some more time heading to the blue route or northeast extension, erika. >> thank you, vittoria. it could take weeks before we learn the cause of the death of accused killer bradley stone. authorities found his body in a wooded area near his pensberg, montgomery county home on tuesday. an autopsy was inconclusive but investigators believe stone took his own life.

prosecutors say that he had a keep stab wound in his leg but that did not kill him. machete covered in blood and axe were found near his bod which medicine bottles and a energy drink. toxicology results are pending, some, who knew him, did not know about his troubled pass. >> i don't remember anybody having a problem with him. >> when i saw him in 2011 he was drinking, he had different prescriptions for antidepressants. >> stone allegedly killed his ex-wife nicole and five members of her family on monday. a teenager survived, and is in the hospital. lawyers for dzhokhar tsarnaev say the boston marathon bombing suspect will appear in federal court today for his final pretrial hearing. it is first time tsarnaev will be seen publicly in more than a year. the bombings killed three and injured 260 during april 2013 marathon. tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges.

jury selection for his trial is set to begin on the fifth of january. u.s. intelligence officials are blaming sony sign's tack on north korea the news came just as of movie studio announced it was scrapping plans to release the film, north korea called an act of war. then we have this, it looks very menacing but do you see how it is pulling itself in two pieces here. this will be fizzling with time. losing its energy. what looks more lease event is on the west coast and that will be the next mid-atlantic storm system for our area. but over the course of the next three days we expect that testimony to take shape and bypass us. three days straight of quiet weather, low to mid 40's right through saturday, sunday and it looks like the day we are looking at possibility of rain and snow. it doesn't look like it will happen. that storm stays too far south. but into next week thinks just a big heads up for you because so many people will be traveling leading up to christmas. it does appear as though in time for christmas eve, here we may be dealing with some of the impacts of the front attached to the much larger system and it will likely if it pans out this way will be mainly a rain producer but a heavy rain producer for the delaware valley and further inland you go if you have family in pittsburgh, you might have some snow to track out that way. but right now again if the

timing pans out, it would dry it out in time for christmas day but that also means no white christmas, this time around, vittoria, over to you. >> maybe next year. >> good morning, everyone. as of right now, traffic is a bum inner a few different places. vine street expressway in the eastbound direction we are seeing that high volume out of 76, making your way down through broad street. the westbound just a touch of traffic approaching the schuykill but really find the heavier westbound delay trying to get on the vine street expressway. it is just that ramp from i-95 southbound. wye say that is your biggest struggle there once you are traveling on 476, once you make it around the area of route one, it does seem to be we have a disable vehicle on the shoulder but not causing too much of a problem. we have bigger fish to fry on 476, and that is some volume, northbound, between 95 and media where you are traveling 21 miles an hour. seven is your average on the schuylkill. your biggest traffic approaching the area of the boulevard out through to gladwynn and it is on both sides. find delays on the westbound

side of 76, approaching the area of university, down through to the vine and your average is 12 on i-95 out of the north east and big delays westbound pennsylvania turnpike out of bucks county through mid county, ukee. >> vittoria, thank you. developing right now, a car drives into a crowd, leaving a christmas celebration in church, and killing one person, and injuring at least a dozen others. investigators say a woman ran a light on the pacific coast highway, hit the crowd and just kept going until she hit another car. police have arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. well, a texas meteorologist is recovering in the hospital this morning, after she was shot several times outside of his television station. police say patrick crawford exchange word with the man before the shots were fired. crawford managed to drive away and flag down a construction worker who called for help. investigators say they have a person of interest, in custody, but they have not identified him as the gun man. police in toledo, ohio say that they have heard they use pep per spray to use a

control of a large crowd. investigators say hundreds lined up for tickets to buy the new air jordan shoes but things quickly got out of control. police briefly shut down the event after making several arrests but the ticket were eventually handed out a little bit later. it is the season not only for holidays but for high school seniors all across the country to mail in their college applications. >> but that anxiety comes a growing concern about whether students social media post can hinder their chances of getting into college. adrian a diaz explains. >> reporter: when 18 year-old, hussein is on twitter she thinks twice before pressing tweet. >> if you tweet one wrong thing, one tweet can go viral in seconds. the high school senior is thinking about college. she had replied to ten schools and knows that they can see what they put on line. schools do look. test press company kaplan surveyed 403 college admissions offices and 35 percent say they look at applicant's social media pages

your average around gladwynn, 15 on i-95. twenty-seven on the blue route. big delays on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound out of bucks county moving down to mid county, ukee. >> vittoria, thank you you. no you an "eyewitness news" exclusive, parent cavity red sox baseball team is being sued after a woman from brigantine, new jersey falls down an elevator shaft at fenway park. our yes, sir contact dean uncovered new video from the investigation, once again, exclusive to "eyewitness news". >> reporter: video shot by investigators shows the door of the fourth floor elevator at fenway park where it happen. in a new lawsuit, family of 22-year old lindsey scotland claims that the door swung over, when she brushed against it causing her to fall two stories down an elevator shaft. according to this out scotland was hospitalized for six weeks, suffering traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and facial fractures. and an audio interview from this summer between the the department of i havety and an elevator operator revealed nothing seemed out of order that day. had you been to the fourth floor during your shift.

>> yes. >> and the doors operated normally. >> everything was working fine. >> reporter: execute alleged scotland had casual contact with the door but one witness told a different story. >> you could see the elevator door was pushed in, you know what i mean, not sideways but pushed in, and what we awe before that were people pushed up against it almost like goofing around playing. >> reporter: according to our sister station wb z in boston the official state report says scotland jumped up and hug her fatter from behind and when she jumped off him hit the elevator door with the enough force to make it opened. according to suit scotland's medical bills now exceed a quarter million-dollar and while she's back home in brigantine she requires continuous care and treatment. wbz also reports that state inspectors conclude that had while the door was okay that day it did have have a long history of problems. we reached out to scotland's family about did not hear back from them. we did hear from the red sox though. they said we cooperated fully

with the department's investigation of this tragic accident but we will not be commenting on it. we have taken all necessary steps to ensure that the l straightors in fenway park are safe. our thoughts remain with miss scotland and her family and we hope for continued progress with her recovery. jessica dean for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. happening today a deal is in the works to save the trump taj mahal casino from closing with just days to spare. new york post reports billion air investor karl icon reached a deal with the workers union to keep the casino opened. the union is expect to finalize that agreement today. taj mahal have would have been the fifth atlantic city casino to close this year if it shut down as planned on saturday. >> tom corbett only has four weeks left on the job. he is thinking about life outside of the governor's mansion. corbett says he might work on a republican kate's presidential campaign but he has not settled on the candidate. he is also opened to teaching

or accepting a seat on a corporate board. corbett leaves office on january 20th after losing the election to tom will wolf. meanwhile, new jersey governor chris christie plans to use the holidays to talk about his family, with his family about possibly running for president. christie is waiting for his oldest children to come home from college before making a decision. the governor is expect to decide his political future early next year. police in new jersey hope to close more cases by enlisting the help of the resident ape business owners, in lindenwald.
