>> ♪♪ >> we begin tonight with breaking news. we just learned the husband of a missing mount laurel woman is in custody right now being questioned in her disappearance. family members of erica crosby say her husband kyle crosby was picked up by police after a traffic stop this evening. crosby has not yet been charged. erica crosby hasn't been seen since december 30th at the pg whelihans restaurant in cherry hill. we'll have much more on this story tonight on cbs3 "eyewitness news" at 11:00. we're also keeping a very close eye on the weather tonight. >> that's because this was the scene in center city philadelphia today. certainly no shortage of umbrellas out there and the rain is hanging around. it's going to make for another slop reslippery commute in the morning. kathy is here with what's in store. kathy. >> there are a few more sprinkles on storm scan3 but that is not the story any longer. many areas roads, sidewalks and even parking lots are wet because of the earlier rain. as the skies clear the temperatures are falling fast. even see some snow west virginia and also parts of western new york. that is the cold air that is moving in. right now philadelphia, we're still holding onto temperatures well into the 30's. 38 in the city, 38 wilmington, 37 in reading. right now in the poconos 28. they have been reporting some light snow throughout the evening. watch what happens though. overnight everyone falls below freezing even shore points and that means everything will be refreezing. tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in the poconos it will only be 10 degrees. that means we'll be seeing

anything that's wet refreezing and of course icy spots overnight and through tomorrow morning. we'll talk more about this, how long this cold lasts in the seven day. hope of a january thaw. i'll be back with that later in the broadcast jess. >> kathy thank you. the fbi is investigating a cyber attack against social media accounts run by u.s. central command and right now the army central command twitter page is just starting to come back up but there's talk on twitter tonight after a group claiming to have isis ties took control of the army's social media page. cbs news correspondent craig boswell has latest from the white house. >> reporter: for about a half hour monday the youtube and twitter accounts for u.s. central command became propaganda tools for islamic extremists. a warning to american soldiers saying we are coming, watch your back, isis. the message was posted by a group calling itself the scene cyber caliphate which has hacked other american news sites and claimed it had penetrated military networks. it says we know everything about you your wives and children. it also posted an old military roster containing names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of senior army generals including joint chiefs chairman martin dempsey. >> there's a reminder of the vulnerability of the system that is we're all dependent on. >> reporter: the executive director of the electronic privacy information center. >> updating our current privacy laws would be a step forward. >> reporter: the white house is down playing the hack saying that was in no way as damaging as last month's security breach at sony pictures. >> pretty significant difference between what is a

large data breach and the hacking of a twitter account. >> reporter: the hacker group anonymous posted its own tweet saying it had traced the attack to somewhere in maryland. craig boswell for "eyewitness news" on the cw philly. >> in the meantime crayola is apologizing for some off color content poster on its facebook page after it says it was hacked. company officials say hackers took control of the account yesterday and posted sexually explicit messages on the usually family friendly site. developing right now one commuter was killed a firefighter hurt and dozens others hospitalized as a precaution after smoke filled a metro tunnel near l'enfant plaza in washington d.c. panicked passengers rushed out of a disabled train holding clothes over their faces as they struggled to block out the smoke. some said they had been stuck in train cars for about 20 minutes. >> conductor told everybody to calm down, that they were going the move us to the other platform. every two, three minutes he would say. that people were getting out of hand panicking people were throwing up. one lady passed out. >> passengers were told there was no fire in the tunnel. the investigation that began just after 3:00 this afternoon continues tonight and some lines still aren't back up and running. >> well, tonight a man is behind bars accused of using social media to lure two boys and that suspect is now facing charges of sexual assault as our diana rocco tells us it's a important reminder to be vigilant with kids. >> reporter: he lured two

local boys over the social media site kick and sexually assaulted them. sunday morning the 12-year-old's mother found the messages on his phone and called hamilton township police. >> that got everything started when the parent found the information on the phone but the juvenile ultimately told the mother immediately and told the police what happened. >> reporter: it happened over the weekend. police say johnson was posing as a younger man and asked the boys a 12 and 17-year-old to meet up with him. then he picked them up in his car and drove them to another location where the 12-year-old was sexually assaulted. >> unfortunately this is happening on a daily basis whether it's kik or some other messaging type of app. >> reporter: the 12-year-old's phone wasn't hooked up, it only worked with wifi yet he was still able to use kik. parents need to know how to use these social media apps as well as their children and monitor them daily. >> you need to get more involved than just giving that device to them. understand the environments they're playing in just as if it were in the physical world. you're not going to let your kid go out and hang out in the park where you know drug dealers are hanging out. same thing. >> reporter: police contacted local schools and say it's possible johnson may have more victims. johnson is now facing multiple charges including aggravated sex assault and multiple counts of luring. he's being held at the atlantic county jail on $300,000 bail. in mays landing i'm diana rocco for "eyewitness news" on the cw philly. >> we have some shocking cell phone video tonight of a child falling from a ski lift. this happened in pennsylvania and it's one of two such

incidents in the commonwealth over the weekend. now, this video was taken at the liberty mountain resort in fairfield. that's in adams county. and then hours later another child fell from a ski lift at spring mountain adventures in schwenksville montgomery county. it was nine-year-old boy who fell in fairfield. luckily he suffered only leg injuries. but right now there aren't any laws that require slopes to have age or height restrictions on their lifts. spring mountain adventures says that they are cautious with young skiers adding that operators were concerned about the five-year-old boy's size prior to saturday night's fall. they had asked an adult they say to ride with him. >> the adult that was with the boy who was further back in line stated he's okay, just let him go. i can tell that you my children and my grandchildren did not ride this lift by themselves when they were five. >> the child was hospitalized following that fall. buchman says that in the 15 years he's owned the lodge only two riders have fallen from their lifts. well, some former workers at a shuttered philadelphia charter school say they have not gotten paid. today those employees or former employees of the walter d. palmer charter school met with the inspector general of the philadelphia school district. about 80 of them say that they weren't paid for the entire month of december. the school closed last month after it fell deep into debt. >> i was a faithful employee for seven plus years. i am due now five weeks of sick time that i never used plus the two paychecks that i'm due. >> well, the workers say that they plan to take their case to the philadelphia d.a. and the pennsylvania attorney general.

they want a criminal investigation. at the same time they plan to pursue a class action lawsuit against both palmer charter and philadelphia public schools. the district says the charter school is at fault. >> philadelphia city council president darrell clarke will not run for mayor. there was talk around town he could run in the next election but he issued a statement today saying he intends to seek a fifth term for city council instead. >> philadelphia pays tribute to one of its fallen heroes today. firefighter lieutenant joyce craig was killed in a house fire last month. today some of the department's top brass attended a special memorial is the city hall. mayor michael nutter was there. he presented her son with an american flag. this is the flag that flew over the city on the day she died and the 30 days that followed. there is still no sign tonight of this missing delaware mother. she disappeared from her smyrna home last week. an amber alert was issued for the two children of keisha hamilton but the four-year-old girl and the four month old boy were later found with her husband, their father in indiana on saturday. this is cortez hamilton. he's been charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. still ahead, jane the virgin actress gina rodriguez talks about her big win at the golden globes. >> on the way new video shows a woman connected to the paris attacks on the run. and authorities recover a key piece of evidence from the wreckage of airasia flight 8501. kathy. >> temperatures plunge so icy concerns for the morning but it's not going to stay frigid. we'll talk about a small warmup in that seven-day.

border on thursday, the same day coulibaly reportedly shot and killed a french policewoman. turkish authorities say the french government never warned them about her terrorist ties. the french government has put 10,000 additional police and soldiers on the streets of paris to guard sensitive sites against possible attacks. locations in european jewish communities are also being guarded closely. french police believe that as many as six members of the terror cell involved in the paris attacks may remain at large tonight including a man seen driving a car that was registered to the we had go of one of the gunmen. >> the flight data recorder from airasia flight 8501 has been recovered. the voice recorder has been located but is pinned under chunks of the plane's wings. crews recovered the plane's tail over the weekend. divers say the most challenging part here is dealing with the heavy under water current and strong waves. they've yet to find the main section of that plane. it crashed december 28th killing all 162 people on board. the chester security camera initiative is expanding thanks to lawmakers and a nature retail change. senator pat toomey and chester city mayor john linder were on hand at widener university as rite-aid contributed $10,000 to outfit outdoor security cameras in chester. there are nine target areas. officials say cameras are vital to police work. they say they often show what people are often too of a fried say. the fraternity at the center of a controversial rolling stone article describe agriculture of sexual violence at the university of virginia

has been reinstated. police could not confirm an allegation that a rape occurred at the phi kappa p.s.i. fraternity house. its cw is celebrating its first golden globe win thanks to jane the virgin. gina rodriguez was named best actress in a comedy tv series. the host of entertainment tonight gave her a phone so she could call her mom. >> mom, mom, its me, gina. you're come to go me to give me a big hug and a kiss. i love you. give dad my love. >> what a great speech from gina last night. she was tearful, really one of the most heart felt moments of the show. she remarked on the hard work of her and others in the hispanic community. again the show is jane the virgin its right here on the cw philly and new episodes return on monday night. if you're a big fan of late night we've got some big news. stephen colbert will make his debut as the new host of the late show this fall on our sister station cbs3. the late show with stephen colbert prem mears tuesday september 8th. colbert of course will take over for the retiring david letterman, the last late show of his legendary career is now set for wednesday may 20th. >> wow. >> in weather tonight we're talking about colder temperatures moving in and the rain moving out but that creates some icy concerns across the region. our eyewitness weather watchers are commenting on the skies still pretty gloomy out there and the wet weather that persists in some spots. irwin reporting 36 degrees in doylestown. driving may be a little treacherous in the morning.

black ice he asks. yes. temperatures will be falling below freezing everywhere tomorrow morning. take a look at some of these very wet conditions across the delaware valley. heavy rain fell in ocean city this evening and some showers continue down the shore nearly a inch of rain. southampton new jersey .85 in riverside new jersey .81. some of our heavier totals in south jersey. if you would like to be an eyewitness weather watcher join the team and be featured in one of our newscast as well by helping us out. sign up now at cbsphilly.com/watchers. outside we're looking at a few sprinkles in center city philadelphia just another gloomy night with colder air moving n on storm scan3 you can see some pockets of heavier rain still as the system begins to clear the coast through gloucester county also through camden county. southern parts of burlington and just to the south of toms river including the city of toms river in ocean county. this will be lifting toward the northeast and toward the west. we're going to be seeing drying conditions, clearing skies but colder temperatures. the poconos already down to 28. 37 in allentown. in philadelphia it is 38 degrees. you can see the cold that's coming toward the west. we're looking after 18 in saint louis, 25 in columbus and this cold air will be moving in to the delaware valley overnight tonight. so behind this cold front it's cold, it's dry but we do see some sunshine for tuesday. those stiff northerly winds will be sustained at about 15 to 20 miles per hour. that drives these wind chills way down for tomorrow. the wind relaxes somewhat wednesday as we watch a storm pass to our south. that could have been an issue. we'll dodge that bullet. and it stays dry for thursday with temperatures slowly

warming through the 30's which is still below average for this time of year. so, overnight tonight we're looking for any lingering showers to end. the wind will be picking up. the low in the city 28 but look at the wind chills, between 16 and 19 degrees. during the day tomorrow, the high temperature right around freezing but the wind out of the north 15 to 20 will make it feel like it's between 15 degrees and 20 degrees. so please make sure you cover up 'cause this is what it will be feeling like. tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m., feel like six below zero in the poconos, eight in allentown in our northern and western suburbs teens from philadelphia all the way to the shore. so, make sure the kids have the mittens on in the morning as well. by noon wind chills mainly in the teens with the exception of philadelphia and dover and by the evening dinnertime we're still talking about wind chills in the teens with temperatures that are quite cold in the poconos it will only feel like it's four. on the exclusive "eyewitness news" we had seven-day forecast freezing for wednesday. the morning low only 20's. thursday 36. friday 38. see where i'm going here. look at saturday. saturday 40. 47 on sunday. if i were a golfer i'd say hm, beasley reece could maybe hit the links on sunday. must have been 42 and the eight to 14 day suggests staying mild. be sure to wake up with "eyewitness news" in the morning. kate fehlinger will track the weather. the team starts at 4:30 on cbs3. and then they continue here on the cw beginning at 7:00. >> last year was a frigid january. >> yeah. >> many days in the teens, so this year i think we're going to get off easy at least through the 25th or so of january. >> okay. kathy, thanks.

cell phone video shows an elephant attack in india. a wild elephant took aim at a couple of cars. can you imagine? experts say this is elephant mating season. that could have been what was driving this attack here. fortunately, though, no one was hurt but that is a big animal. >> yeah. elephants always have the right of way if you're driving. >> if they can sit on your car, you give them the right of way. >> let them go first you. >> let them sit on your car.
